I have read several posts I created a few years back where I was saying, I mean, proudly saying that I didn't wear sunscreen even for a beach trip. Well, sis, not possible now. I'll forever be wearing a sunscreen and I'm even trying to make reapplication a habit.

I have always read that it is recommended to reapply sunscreen. I never got myself into that habit since I found it uncomfortable, and to be honest, I was too lazy to do so. I was also worried that reapplying would irritate and clog my skin. I used to only have liquid sunscreens with me, btw so it was not convenient.

In July this year, my friend and I went to Tokyo, Japan. It was summer season, and we read that it was going to be really hot. We didn't want to risk getting sun burnt while fully enjoying our trip. I figured that I had to get myself a sun stick so I don't have to use my fingers, and I can easily reapply throughout the day. I got this product - Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Airy Sun Stick. It was an easy choice, and I pair this with Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Sun Gel, which has been my HG for more than a year now. With this, which I reapplied as often as I can, an umbrella, water, and a portable mini electric fan, we were able to survive Japan's scorching weather.

Since that trip, I got into the habit of reapplying sun screen mainly because it became effortless to do. All I do is wipe my face if I perspired or pat the oil on my face using an oil control film, then swipe this on my face and neck. Never did it congest my skin, nor did it cause me to break out even if I kept on reapplying.

This is practical, convenient, and definitely changed the game for me. 🥰

Benton Airfit UV Defense Sun Cream

SPF 50
PA++++
Satin Finish
No whitecast
For all skin types

This product has a mint colored tube as a packaging and the product itself is also of that color.

This is my go-to sunscreen for whenever I like an "aromotherapy morning." This has an herbal minty scent but all natural because it has rosemary essential oil as an ingredient. The scent is quite strong - you'd smell it as soon as you squeeze the product out of the tube but it doesn't linger and disappears as you apply it on the skin. I was intending to pair this with Benton's Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel but a few applications later, I decided to use it on its own since it's already moisturizing so I don't have to use moisturizer anymore. It's light and not sticky. Glides effortlessly and easily spread on the skin.

For those with oily skin types like me, it kind of looks dewy but it was able to control the oiliness of my face for a few hours even during a hot day. For those with dry skin types, this will leave a dewy satin finish. I am able to reapply this product as well. It doesn't feel sticky as long as I use an oil control film beforehand.

Some products with essential oil irritate my skin and I feel a stinging sensation but I didn't experience that with Benton Airfit Defense Sun Cream. For people with sensitive skin and sensitive nose, however, the minty feeling and scent can be off putting.

This is a review of the newest skincare item from B.Lab's Matcha Hydrating Line. I haven't gotten the chance to post the cleanser here but that one has been my HG for more than a year now.

Anyway, I've posted this review in the Lazada store where I bought this so might as well post this here too. I think there aren't a lot of reviews for this yet since, again, this is a new product.

B.Lab Matcha Hydrating Relief Cream Review

I thought that I was the only one who wanted matcha - turns out my skin loves drinking it too. 😅

I am a huge fan of B-Lab's Matcha Hydrating line. In fact, the facial wash has been my HG for more than a year now so when I saw a new product being launched under the same line - I didn't even hesitate to buy myself a tube.

B.Lab Matcha Hydrating Relief Cream Review

Quality: It comes in a box and a tube packaging that is very easy dispense. It looks neat just like the other products from this line. Safe for those with sensitive skin since it's fragrance-free.

Texture: Looks slightly thick at first but it has a quick-absorbing gel-like texture when spread on the face. It has a bit of green tint as well.

Effectiveness: Suitable for all skintypes. It's a no-frill cream and does its job effectively. I was able to use it during the day without breaking me out. I have oily skin and I tend to avoid creams like this during mornings but this is obviously an exception. It's rich but not greasy even in hot and humid weather. I love how it makes my skin moisturized without the sticky and tacky feeling. It also melts and sinks in nicely and fast as if my skin drinks it. A little goes a long way so this 60 ML tube will last long.

I have used this twice a day consecutively in the past week, and I am super satisfied.

Isntree's Summer Set

Thank you for sending these, Isntree and Picky! 💚

PURCHASE YOURS HERE:

Instree Sun Gel

SPF 50+ PA++++
50 ML | 1.69 Fl Oz
8 Types of Hyaluronic Acid
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the most comfortable and lightweight out of all the sunscreens I've tried. No wonder this gets a lot of love!

*doesn't sting
*non-sticky
*no whitecast
*no fragrance
*hydrating

At first I thought that this has a whitecast but upon lathering properly and once absorbed by the skin, it doesn't even feel and look that I'm wearing sunscreen. This would be perfect for those with dry/dehydrated skin since it's moisturizing. For those with oily skin like me, you can just blot after 3-4 hours if it gets too oily.

*can look too dewy when humid and/or for those with oily skin

I also used the mask that comes with the set before wearing sunscreen.

Product is from @go.picky and @isntree but review is based on my experience.

Nivea Active for Men SPF 15 Lip Balm

Here's a Nivea Lip Balm that I discovered by accident. I wasn't able to bring my own so I borrowed. Not advisable 'cause social distancing 😂 Just that my lips dry and flake fast so I needed to put on a lip balm.

PURCHASE YOURS HERE:

NIVEA SPF 15

This is made for men so it's very light, without fragrance, and not sticky as if nothing's there when you swipe on your lips. There's shine but it's faint and almost unnoticeable.

Does its job as a lip moisturizer with an SPF15 protection. I love it 'cause as I've said, it's very light so perfect especially for the humid days we have while wearing face masks throughout the day. I don't think that only men can use this even if it says that it's specifically for men.

It has been more than a year since I last wore a bb cream and face powder. I stopped because I developed masknes (breakout) so I went bare-faced in order to decongest my skin. It was a new feeling because I've worn bb cream since 2012 but I got used to the simplicity of my new routine. Even after my breakout has calmed down, I stuck with just using toner, moisturizer, and sun screen.

I ran out of my Biore and I like having choices so I bought another one that I use alternately with my Nivea Sun Gel.

PURCHASE YOURS HERE:

Ra and Gowoori

The newest sunscreen in my stash: Ra and Gowoori's Real Kill 9.9 Sunscreen with Make Up Base. As per its name, it's a sunscreen and primer/ make up base in one.

There wasn't really a lot of reviews for this sunscreen even in Reddit but this is the one used by Dr. Erin (The Nerdy Derma). Despite my apprehension 'cause they said that this has a slight white cast, I purchased as soon as I saw the chance.

I knew what I was getting into but coming from Biore and Nivea's sunscreen, this looked very thick (parang Elmer's glue) and sticky at first. I judged too quickly though 'cause upon spreading, it turns out to be very light as if I didn't put any sun screen on my face so it wasn't uncomfortable even on humid days.

It doesn't irritate my eyes and with no alcohol smell even unlike the first two I mentioned. Don't get me wrong, it's not fragrance-free. There's a faint smell but it fades immediately.

It sells at 580 for 80 ML.
7.25/ML.

50 SPF
UVB&UVA Protection
PA+++

This is in the pricerange of reasonably-priced to cheap compared to other products in the market.

Again, my first concern about this is they said that it has a slight cast. I'm not fair-skinned so I had a difficult time deciding whether to purchase this or not mainly because of that. "Baka lang masayang kasi maputi tignan sa'kin," I thought. Needless worry 'cause there wasn't a white cast on me even if the filter of this sun screen is Titanium Dioxide. And if there is, it's not obvious.

Does its job both as a sun screen and a make-up base. I, however, stop at this step. As I mentioned before, I no longer wear bb cream and face powder. 😅

There's "shine" but not the haggard, oily kinda shine. Glowy? Dewy? I don't use oil control film a lot these days even if it's already hot on some days. Gentle and doesn't clog my pores so I don't get a lot of masknes anymore even after wearing face masks for hours.

I can't say that this is the sole product that made my face less oily 'cause I also added Isntree's Green Tea toner in my morning routine. I might post about that too one of these days... months. HAHAHA

Below is my newest morning routine/skincare products line-up:

Isntree's Green Tea Fresh Toner
Innisfree's Balancing Green Tea Lotion
Ra and Gowoori Real Kill Sunscreen (going out)
Nivea Sun Gel (staying home)

Updated Skincare Routine and Products on Rotation

This has been in my back log for more than a month. HAHAHA. Padami ng padami na naman 'yung back logs ko. Ano ba 'yan.

💁🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️

Overall, I'm glad that I gave this a chance despite my apprehension. This is an excellent buy and a sure repurchase. ♥️

Curls by Zenutrients Leave-in Conditioner Review
CGM Update with products currently on rotation.

Almost six months since I posted about the products I use, I'm posting this. Hehe. These are mostly from my 12.12 sale purchases.

PURCHASE YOURS HERE:

Zenutrients Leave-In

This photo is taken in Luljetta Hanging Gardens, Antipolo.

[Klook Link] Luljetta's Hanging Gardens Spa Day Pass

These days, I no longer pay that much attention to good and bad hair days. 😅 I have a routine that works for me and every wash day is a surprise anyway. Parang naging wash and wear na ulit buhok ko. Buti naman! 😍 I've heard enough people who told me that my hair looks good as an assurance that it's improving. Pwede na 'yan. 😂 All thanks to my bb 'cause I spent my rebond money on him which is the reason why I stumbled upon CGM. HAHAHA!

NOTE: Some of the terms below will be unfamiliar to those who are not practicing CGM. 😁

HHN Vanilla Conditioner - Will Repurchase

This is still what I apply as leave-in when I'm staying at home. I love the smell (kinda sweet but not too vanilla-ey) and it's cheaper.

Curls by Zenutrients Leave-in Conditioner - Will Repurchase

I've always hoped for a leave-in conditioner and I'm so happy when Zenutrients launched this last year. 😍

This smells fresh and clean which I like a lot. It doesn't feel heavy in the hair and it forms a slight cast when applied so it's perfect to use when going out. I no longer think about what my hair looks like especially when it's windy outside.

I haven't tried using gel as a styler since CGM so I never had an experience of "scrunching the crunch" but this is the closest that I can get to that.

Zenutrients is thicker than HHN but I don't dilute it with water unlike the latter.

Some ladies in the group rinse only a percent of their S2C conditioner and some don't rinse at all. I don't like doing that 'cause it feels sticky especially in the humid weather we have here in PH. I rinse all the conditioner after S2C then I apply leave-in after wet plopping.

LOW POO - Zenutrients Gugo Shampoo - Might Repurchase

I've only used this thrice as of writing 'cause I'm emptying my other low poo, HHN Mandarin. I still prefer the latter because using the Mandarin variant in the shower is invigorating/aromatherapy to me. Repurchase of this will depend whether or not my hairfall lessens as I empty the container and if the smell grows on me since I'm still leaning to HHN for my low poo.

CO-WASH - Zenutrients Gugo Conditioner - Will Repurchase

I haven't noticed the lesser hairfall nor the strengthening of my hair strands yet. This smells minty. It's watery so perfect for co-wash. My scalp doesn't itch when using this and I feel a mild cooling sensation so I know it's there. 😂 The co-wash that I've been using before is Johnson and Johnson's Shiny Drops Conditioner. I will repurchase this because 1 liter size when on sale is sold for around 680 (?) so this will be cheaper than JJ. Though, of course, I'm hoping that it will stay true to its claim that I'll have lesser hairfall.

CO-WASH - Zenutrients Coco Honey Conditioner - Might Repurchase

I LOVE THE SCENT. I like this more than gugo, tbh. If they sell this in a 1 Liter container then I'd definitely get this for my Co-Wash instead of gugo even if that promises stronger hair. This is thicker so I dilute this with water when I use it. It also has a minty/cooling sensation when applied in the scalp.

S2C - Suave Cherry Blossom Conditioner - Will Repurchase (forever 😂)

Suave Tropical Conditioner - Might Repurchase

I have nothing to say about these Suave conditioners aside from they are my CGM holy grails, my must-haves, my forever. Haha. I only purchase those protein-free variants and I usually have two kinds with me. Cherry Blossom has and will always be a staple and the other one is whatever scent is available in the store during my restock. 😂

As I've said above, hair during wash day is always a surprise. ❤️ Will never look back to salon hair treatments. Hehehe.

 Zenutrients Leave-In Conditioner:

Zenutrients Leave-In Conditioner when tried outdoor.

My hair when wet.

Will blog about this no-sleep hike one of these days. Hahahahaha. Kakamiss. Shet.

Curlversary Update ❤️

This was my concern before. Paano kaya buhok ko kapag nag-hiking? Okay naman pala or yeah, it's cause mas maayos na rin 'yung buhok ko these days.  Also, Zenutrients has a slight cast so I believe that helped in making my hair more manageable during the trek.

Fully dried while on a windy mountain top. Naninibago pa rin ako minsan kapag nakikita ko ganyan hair ko. HAHA!

My new roommate loves to sleep on my hair. I use satin hair caps when he sleeps in my room to make myself laway-proof 'cause he plays with my hair and by play I mean bites it. 😢🤦🏻‍♀️ hahaha! It's uncomfortable for me to sleep with a hair cap but I think a lot of CGM ladies wear something like this to protect their curls while sleeping.

Clingy bb. 😍

Gondo naman ng diaper mo. 😂
One of his favorite place on Earth is beside my face. 😂 Kaya kailangan talaga laway proof! Kakaloka! Hahahaha

Maskne has calm down eventually.
I still get some whiteheads and acne these days but not as much as before, even the acne marks are starting to fade. Huhuhu. Buti na lang! I also have new sunscreen and lip balm that I'm using, I might post those here too.

Looking for a lipstick that can be worn under a face mask? Found one! 💋

These are just selfies while wearing Maybelline's Superstay Matte Ink in Ruler with CGM hairfies.

I was waiting for someone to pick me up. Sabi ko, "Sige, pili ka na muna ng itsura ng kasama mo habang wala ka pa dito." HAHAHAHA! Pero syempre hindi naman niya nabasa agad mga chat ko kaya lumabas akong matino.🤦🏻‍♀️ As if naman lumalabas akong hindi matino?! 🤨🤣

This is actually a new experience for me since 'yung ganitong mga itsura ng buhok are definitely not possible with a rebonded hair. Lakas maka-prim and proper ng hair dati. Ngayon talaga konting hangin lang, mukhang never na nagsuklay pero duhhhh diba nga di naman nagsusuklay sa CGM. EXCUSED. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Curlversary Update

Maybelline's Superstay Matte Ink in Ruler

HAHAHAHA. Nakakamiss makita 'yung mukha ko na may kulayyyyyy.

I mentioned last month that I haven't been using my lipsticks since March. I went out one night wearing a dark red shade 'cause I removed my face mask when I arrived at my destination but that wasn't transfer proof kaya kumalat.

Pa(w)ssion Projects123

I was only supposed to wear my lipbalm but I remembered that I'll remove my mask again. When I was looking at my stash, I saw this. I haven't been using this before the pandemic 'cause I got used to wearing nudes and browns that I even forgot I have one.

Maybelline's Superstay Matte Ink in Ruler

Maybelline New York's Superstay Matte Ink - kiss proof, smudge proof, transfer proof, everything proof. HAHA! Ghorl, ito na talaga. 😂 It's pigmented, dries matte, and very easy to apply. You might actually need to use make-up remover at night if you didn't eat nor drink that much throughout the day.

Make sure that you dry your lips first, apply this, blot off the excess and you're good. Didn't have to worry whether it'll transfer on the face mask and/or smudge all over my mouth and face. It also doesn't stain the lips and doesn't feather.

We were browsing the pictures later that day while thinking about the missed opportunity of seeing me go out looking like that. 🤣 The chosen was what I call "feather duster" hairstyle (bottom right), it was referred to as Amy Winehouse hairstyle daw... pero syempre joke lang mga 'yan, wala lang kasi akong magawa saka hindi ko naman keri lumabas ng naka-ganyan. Hahahaha! Tayo tayo lang nakakakita. 😂 Naaliw lang ako sa curly/wavy textures na naka-depende kung saan ipa-part 'yung buhok.

Maybelline's Superstay Matte Ink in Ruler

Kunyari wacky si Denden pero sinasakal na pala. 🤣

We took this dog with us on a ride before but now, he's always ready to go. Alam mo 'yon, maramdaman lang niya na aalis ako, maauna pa siya sa labas. Haaaay. Spoiled. Well, kanino pa ba kasi magmamana ng pagiging gala???? Tinatanong ko pa ba talaga 'to? Hahaha!

Maybelline's Superstay Matte Ink in Ruler

Here it is swatched on my hand.
Ruler #80

BTW.

importante kasi na may label
nilagyan ko na 'yung akin para hindi na ako nasisingitan sa pila.

Na-realize ko kung gaano na ko ka-lala nung gabi na tuwang tuwa ako dahil dito. Love you so matcha, Park Seo Joon!! 🤣
