I noticed a lot of people accessing my Tong Yang post from before. I guessed that it's because of BDO's Credit Card Promo so I'm posting the photos I took in their The Block, SM North EDSA branch when we availed the promo a few weeks back.

It's 50% off per group of 5 to 10 pax when you're using BDO Credit Card to pay.

I don't have a lot to say but here are the photos, taken August 2024.

I was suprised with the set-up and available food here in their SM North Branch. The layout was better and lighting was brighter. It was also easier to look at the food items since they're all in one aisle.

Experience was much better than what I was expecting, tbh. I am willing to eat here again especially if there's another 50% off promo. HAHA

Tong Yang Centris Branch

Not my favorite tempura.
I don't know if it really is like that or it was a bad day but the batter/tempura breading was tough to chew.

From frequent Samgyupsal a few years ago, I've become more interested in hotpots these days and this is probably the reason why I enjoyed Tong Yang more this time.

We've eaten several times at their Centris Branch but I have never appreciated the sinigang broth because I don't like the soup. In that branch, I had no choice but to compromise since we were to share to hotpot broth per table so I just go by whatever my companions want.

Since I got introduced to more hotpot restaurants over the years, I think the mushroom broth was good enough as a hotpot base and I just prepared several dry dips and dipping sauces according to my liking.

Several sauces and dipping options for the grill and hotpot.

Korean station and noodles for the hotpot.

My top five items from this section were:

1. Beef slices in Black Pepper Sauce
2. Salmon
3. Tuna
4. Chicken
5. Mussel

This is the difference, each diner has his/her own hotpot.

Great idea if you're not into mixing too many items or if you're into mixing too many items but your companions aren't. I belong to the first group.

For desserts they had: cake slices, halo-halo station, ice creams, and fruits.

I just got myself a few scoops of ice creams.

Avocado, Taro, and Kesong Puti.

Taro and Kesong Puti are a must-try!

Our total bill for five pax was P 2,070.00. Thank you, BDO and Tong Yang Plus!

Btw, you can do online reservation via their Facebook Page.

Here are the regular rates.

HAPPY EATING!

As far as I know, you have five options to get to Uminonakamichi Seaside Park in Fukuoka.

1. Train
2. Bus
3. Ferry
4. Cab
5. Private Transfer

So far, we've taken two kinds of transportation: Train and Ferry

Japan 2024: Arrival in FUK Airport and Airport Money Withdrawal via Seven Bank

Book your adventure here: Fukuoka Pass

We were from Nanzoin Temple when we went here via train. You can follow the suggested route in Google Map but make sure to alight at the station after Marine World Uminonakamichi if you want to reach the West Gate faster.

Fukuoka, Japan 2024: Winter at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park

Fukuoka, Japan 2019: Spring at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park

We were there on a weekday so there were no food sellers in the area. Since we were from Nanzoin, we haven't taken our lunch yet so we were famished. This Takoyaki store near the gate saved us for that afternoon.

Better option is to get something from the convenience store before going here just to make sure you have something to snack on if you become hungry. The park is quite huge. You can actually spend an entire day walking there. I don't know where to rent a bicycle but that is also an option.

10 pieces for 550 Yen.

There are drinks vending machine outside the Ferry Station. We didn't know if it was possible to eat inside so we ate our Takoyaki here.

Make sure to check the ferry schedule so you can maximize your time inside the park. A lot of people arrived just in time for the ferry 'cause they knew the schedule beforehand, we didn't.

Ferry Fare was 450 Yen per person.

Btww, that nail design/ nail gel was gifted to me by Jinro Soju.

Saitozaki to Hakata Port Ferry Ride

The ferry ride was less than 30 minutes.

Ferries enroute to Busan are available here.

I documented my experience at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' coin machine in SM North EDSA but I wasn't able to post it sooner. I noticed a lot of people are still accessing my post from years ago entitled, "Pwede bang mag-deposit ng barya sa banko?" so I am updating it because this is a more convenient way especially if you managed to save a lot.

While I was able to do that before, d
epositing coins in the bank was inefficient in the long run so those coins especially centavos were just accumulating in my picky coin bank for years. This post is very timely 'cause you can now send the amount to your GoTyme Account now unlike before when Gcash was the only e-wallet choice.

Purchase your coin bank here.

Second - same pouch, around 1 PM. Na-deposit ko.

Third - lahat ng coins ko from years ago, nailagay ko na doon.

Gaano karami 'yung barya na pwedeng dalhin?

Kahit gaano karami basta kasya sa machine for that day at basta kaya niyong buhatin.

Bye, my coins from my picky coin bank. Bumalik na sila sa circulation after 10+ years.

Coin count and amount are itemized in the receipt.

Didn't have to count because I trust this breakdown of items and I didn't really want to count the coins.

I've had my JCB Credit Card since 2013, I've never had problems with it until last month when it had one Fraudulent Credit Card Transaction amounting to P 77,000+ PHP or 1,021.49 GBR.

I've disputed the transaction, documented the process on my end, and had prepared screenshots to back-up my claim. I have the screenshots ready so I decided to post this here since I never got to use them when disputing the transaction.

This will include the Timeline of the dispute process and my experience with BDO hotline.

 Ready?

May 24, 2024 (Friday): I was trying to log on the new BDO banking app but it was down the entire afternoon.  This was not the error message for that day. I just saved a screenshot of a recent downtime so I'd have something to post.

May 25, 2024 (Saturday): I was able to finally log-in and noticed that I had a TECHNEXT DAY transaction amounting to GBP 1,021.49, dated May 23, 2024. DAFAQ? I immediately called BDO Hotline to have my card blocked and have them cancel the transaction since it was still pending. I called them thru our landline which had no loud speaker and I ended up waiting for more than an hour before I was finally able to talk to a customer representative. The waiting felt like forever but the call itself didn't last long. I was able to have my old card blocked, request for a new card, have them cancel the pending transaction... or so I thought.

Here's the screenshot from BDO's New Mobile App

To the scammer who processed this TechNextDay Chichester GBR Fraudulent Transaction, I hope you lose your sense of taste and become allergic to your favorite food. I hope that you always fall whenever you take the stairs. I hope that you always have splinters on your fingers. I hope you lose your hair on your head and eyebrows. 🤣🤣🤣

Here's the screenshot from the old BDO Mobile App

To be honest, aside from the lower interbank transfer fee, I still prefer the old banking app especially since it indicates if the card transaction is a pending or posted one. UITF and EIP transactions are also shown in the previous app. Anyway, lotsa time for updates. Hopefully, they'd improve the new app in the future.

I had to Google what currency GBP is since I'm not even familiar. Here you go, it's Pound.

TECHNEXT DAY SCAM and my rebate JCB Japan Rebate when we went to Fukuoka last February.  Still love my JCB because of the promos.

Despite calling the hotline in May 25, 2024 (Friday), having my card blocked and all, the transaction still pushed through when I logged in in May 27, 2024 (Monday). I really wanted to cry. A friend told me that his dad never got the money back when his card was compromised too. I didn't ask the details but her saying that made me feel anxious. 77k+ was a huge amount.

Purchase your CVV Sticker here.

May 27, 2024 (Monday) I kept my cool and called again. This time, I used my phone for the loud speaker so I can do other things while waiting. Anyway, I did what I have to do for this transaction since it should be recorded that I called them immediately when I noticed a fraudulent transaction. It was their end that wasn't able to stop it when it was just a pending transaction during the weekend.

Btw, aside from the phone call, I was asked to fill out a Transaction Dispute From and send it to the e-mail address they gave.

May 29, 2024 (Wednesday) and June 2, 2024 (Sunday) someone was trying to transact again with my then blocked credit card. Since the first transaction pushed through, why not try the 2nd and 3rd time, right? 😭

If anything, I'm just feeling relief that my card was already blocked during these transactions and BDO sent OTP requests. Imagine if these got approved while I was asleep or when I didn't notice that my card has been compromised. 3 AM and 7 AM. Dafaq ulit.

This was a screenshot from a BDO warning I got last year.

I bought something in the Philippines when I was in Hong Kong and my card got immediately blocked. This is the reason why I'm at ease with my BDO Credit Card because there are layers of protection like this. There's usually a text for bigger than usual transactions, out of the country transactions etc. I was really surprised when the TechNextDay transaction pushed through. No OTP request, no messages to confirm and authorize if the foreign transaction was mine, it was suddenly there.

May 28, 2024 (Tuesday) My new requested card was dispatched.

June 3, 2024 (Monday) Temporary Credit has been issued to my JCB Card. I'd like to think this case as closed and the temporary credit, permanent.

I'm pretty satisfied with BDO's response to my first and hopefully last Fraudulent Transaction report. Calling was a hassle, filling out the form was a hassle, e-mailing was a hassle but the overall response was quicker than expected and I didn't even have to show these screenshots to them.

Calls made to the BDO hotline: 2

Time alloted for calls: 1 1/2 hours each including the wait

E-mail sent: 1

I was always updated regarding the status of this dispute and even if those were system-generated responses, those still gave me peace of mind. I was thinking that this will take me months when the hotline representative told me that the maximum wait is 90 business banking days but the dispute and the delivery of my new JCB Credit Card took less than two weeks.

I have no idea where and how my card was compromised so I've been more careful with my cards and I've also purchased a CVV sticker. I've been using debit and credit cards for years but it is only now did I sincerely feel how important my card details are. Don't show the card details to anyone, lock your card when not in use, cover your CVV, don't share your OTPs, make sure all the websites you're logging into are legit and safe.

Have you experienced this as well?
What did you do?

On another note, BAKA NAMAN, GOTYME.

I've been trying to dispute a transaction with them because I was overcharged ng P 300.00 from a GrabMart transaction made last February. Three e-mails na, as of writing, June 19, wala pa rin akong update. P 300.00 pa rin 'to. huhu

If you're heading to Sensoji Temple, this Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center should be worth your while. It's directly across the Kaminarimon gate.

When you go up the Viewing Deck, you'll see this view above: Sensoji Temple and Pagoda with the whole stretch of Nakamise-Dori Street.

Tokyo Skytree is the view from the other corner of the Observation Deck.

There are a lot of people going up here so you can only spend a few minutes taking photos so as to give other people the chance to take their own.

Photo taken probably around 9 AM and stores were just opening up.

The day we visited was the day this Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival was held last year.

Tokyo, Japan: Matsuri!! (Summer Festivals We Attended)

Aside from the Observation Deck and cafe that you can find in the 8th floor, you can get brochures and ask for travel advices from this place. There's also a foreign currency exchange, toilet, exhibit, free wifi-access in this building.

If you want to join a free walking tour, you can go to this building as well to ask about that. I think they hold tours of/around Asakusa every weekend.

Thank you, Universe for giving us the chance to heal our 2020 heartbreak! Tokyo trip finally came true after three years and three months of waiting. ðŸ’–
