Koryan post again.

We were planning our bonding for next Tuesday then suddenly we were like,
"Let's go. Now na."

And we found ourselves enjoying Korean Cuisine in this newly-opened Korean Restuarant at SM North.

They have this thing on their tables for the ease of calling the waiters. But they were very attentive so we just had to press this once to ask for our bill.
The waiters were very friendly and courteous greeting Annyeonghaseyo as we entered. Anyaresayo too. hahaha

I think another word that can describe this restaurant is affordable.
The prices are reasonable especially because Korean cuisine is, most of the times, expensive.

If you like Korean dramas too, then play Guess that O.S.T with your friends whom you're dining with.
They have Korean songs playing in the background the entire time.

You may choose between Lemon and Strawberry for your iced tea.

Beef Bibimbap with Iced Tea

That's really affordable for an authentic and delicious serving of bibimbap if you ask me.This was filling but I think that it should have more meat.
And there was no kimchi. :(
Anyhow...

There's a container of gochujang or chili paste in the table so you'll be the one to adjust the spiciness of your order. My spiciness/hotness threshold goes up when I'm eating Korean food.

Mandu means dumplings while Kok (Gug) means noodles

The dumplings in this soup reminded me of Kuchai dumplings that we had in Binondo last March.

It's not bad to learn something new everyday.
This is Tempura in Japanese and it's called Twigim (튀김 = fry) in Korean.

This reads O-SO-U-SIP-SI-YO and it means Welcome in the formal (Korean) politeness level.

They have what they call Donglyo Meals which are good for sharing.
A bundle (?) would cost you at least or at most P 100.00/person when you order one of those.

This is supposed to be our appetizer but it turned out that it was our "ender".

Starking Fire Sushi

They torch the sushi in front of you.
Yez, may presentation muna. hehehe.
Not your usual sushi and is available in beef, tuna and chicken.

We ordered too much food for three persons because we didn't expect the servings to be that huge since most are pegged as "budget meals". No complains here though.

My favorite line after trying out a new restaurant, "Filled our tummies but didn't empty our wallets!" is really applicable in Chef's Noodles.

We're definitely going back to try the other selections out. My eyes are on Bulgogi Kimbap and Chef's Noodle.

Don't forget to try this out when you're in the area. 많이 먹어!

I had second thoughts whether or not I'll post this here (it took me more than two months to decide) but since a blog is a good medium in information dissemination, post ko na rin. Meron naman sigurong capable and willing to help akong readers eh, diba? :>

Again, in hopes that I can open someone's heart into sponsoring a child too, I am posting this.

Here's my story:

I can't remember if it was the last week of June or the first week of July when I browsed the internet to look for a birthday gift for myself. Then in one of the pages I stumbled upon, I came across a World Vision advertisement and found out that the needed monthly contribution is P 600.00 per child.

That night, I immediately signed up thinking na 'yun na lang 'yung gift ko for myself nang hindi man lang pinag-iisipan ng maigi kahit I'll be spending the next months contributing P 600.00 to World Vision. Ganun ako ka-impulsive eh!! Thankfully, even after trying for like three times, my JCB credit card didn't connect in PesoPay.

Because of the "wait", I had more time to think things over and prepare myself since I'll be committing in a P 600.00/month or P 7,200.00/year donation. I mean, P 600.00 is still P 600.00 and given na may mga araw na wala akong pera, it can be tough and burdensome in the long run. And, naghahanap lang ako ng birthday gift na one spending lang eh tapos biglang meron akong bagong gagastusan na P 600.00 at monthly pa.

But then if you do the math, if I can save P 20.00/day, it would become P 600.00/month. I'll just have control my spending more and find something that I can scrimp on so by the end of the month, I'll have a surplus money for my World Vision contribution.

I may not have a lot and I even fall short on funds on some days but I can still say that I'm blessed because I have enough most of the times.

Anyway,

Ano ba 'yung sacrifice ko para makapagtira ng P 20.00 isang araw?
Simple. I now bring my water bottle everyday to save on water expenses.

'Yung konting bigat na 'yun na nadadagdag sa bag ko because I need to save my P 20.00 daily is an okay sacrifice kung kapalit naman niyan e ang edukasyon ng isang batang gustong mag-aral at pag-save sa Earth na rin kasi nakabawas ako ng basura.

Ang hirap na may makita kang isang tao na driven at may pangarap but financially hindi siya kayang ma-suportahan.

Siguro more than anything else, 'yung motivation ko talaga for doing this is to give someone a chance. Alam mo 'yun, since I was given a second chance myself, I want to express my gratitude by sharing. I want to give back especially to someone na may gustong marating sa buhay pero nahi-hinder financially.
I want another person to feel the joy and gratefulness that I feel these days.
P 20.00/day isn't that much of a loss on my side especially because it means a change or it will become an instrument in changing someone else's life.

Saka kung gusto ko man ng juice, ano ba naman 'yung konting calories na hindi ko mai-intake e ang dami ko pa ngang sobrang fats sa katawan, di ba? :))

When I finally decided na i-push ang sponsorship, I searched and asked around for a suitable Savings Account and I found one in Eastwest Bank. Ito na nga 'yung Basic Savings Account na binuksan ko noong July at naka-automatic monthly debit na 'yung P 600.00 ko dun sa account monthly.

I opened that account for the sole purpose of subscribing to World Vision pero mukhang mas marami pa ata akong nakuha. HAHAHA.

Nga pala, the girl I am sponsoring is named Queenie and she's from Palawan. We haven't had the chance to talk yet dahil two months pa lang rin naman akong nagco-contribute but I'm looking forward to meet her and someday visit her in Palawan too. Who knows...

Before I end, I was reminded of the story I read years ago about a starfish and a girl...

A young girl was walking along a beach upon which thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement.

She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!”

The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied,

“Well, I made a difference to that one!”
