These sites are where some of the most famous Quezon delicacies/pasalubong are produced.
Taking pictures isn't allowed inside the production area so this is just to show you how their products look like.

They have broas, apas etc. sold at 3 for P 100.00

Address: 125, Don V. Cadelina Street, Lucban, 4328, Quezon

Is it langgonisa? All along I thought that this is called longganisa. Whatevs.

Address: 42 Avenida St. Lucban, Quezon

Their store is near Lucban Church
Production area.
P 70.00/dozen for regular size
P 140.00/dozen for jumbo size

These longganisas are not the type of longganisa we have here in NCR. Lucban longganisa is a combination of garlicky and sour taste that is perfect to be dipped in vinegar with garlic. huhuhu. Sorop
From G.B Daza, we walked to Lucban Church, to this cemetery below and eventually to Racelis.
Creepy but not so creepy cemetery
Mt. Banahaw and Mt. Cristobal are the two peaks you'll see around Quezon Province.
The yin and yang of Quezon.

It was said that these mountains possess good and bad energies. Mt. Banahaw, an extinct volcano, is said to have healing and mystical powers that's why it's also called holy mountain. Mt. Cristobal, on the other hand, is said to be a devil's mountain.
"Ang ganda! (ng mga bundok)"
"Thank you!"

Akala ko kung sinong engkantada 'yung sumagot ng thank you eh. hahaha. 'Yung Ate pala sa bahay na dinaanan namin pag lingon ko.

After mixing flour, water, salt and lye. The dough is then shaped like your regular noodles, air dried then baked.
Kainin ko kayo lahat eh.

The walk from Lucban church to Racelis is a little bit long which could get more tiring especially on a hot day.

You could ride a tricycle for P 8.00 per person should you still like to see the production area. If not, you can just buy your pancit miki at G.B Daza at P 45.00 each for a big pack.

In Racelis, a big pack is sold for P 40.00 and a small pack for P 20.00.

Other famous native delicacies are:

Yema Cake, Cassava Cake, Pilipit, Lambanog and Nilupak. These can all be found in Calle Budin in Zone 2, Bgy. San Diego in Tayabas, Quezon link: here.

Korean Character Exhibition: The Delight of Korean Animation Character World

From February 7 - May 10, 2014, these are the things on display at KCCPh's wave hall.

I, myself, don't remember watching these Korean animations when I was younger but despite that, seeing these was enough to feel nostalgic. Afterall, our childhood is one of the best times of our lives, isn't it?

Anyway, it was only in 2012 that I got to watch episodes of some of these animations since they're a great way to practice Korean language skills too. I don't remember what was it but I learned the Korean words for different body parts and animal names from an animation.

Adventures on Cloud Bread and Hello, Jadoo.

Yes, we learn something new everyday.
I've always thought that Pucca is Chinese!

And of course, Pororo and friends.

CHINGUYA ANNYEONG!
These toys will definitely make a child happy.
No touching and playing though!
This exhibit is for free so visit the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines now and take a selfie with Pororo and Pucca!
---

I was once a student (Elementary 1, Elementary 2 & Korean Traditional Dance) and a volunteer at KCCPh. Until now, if time and schedule permits, I always find myself returning there. Two years ago (LEE MIN HO AND BOYS OVER FLOWERS were the roots of all these), I decided to enroll myself in a language class at KCC. Like what I've always told some people, it was one of the best decisions I made in this life. (K. EMO? HAHAHA) I'm really glad that even if I knew no one and nothing when I started, I pushed through. As time passed, I fell inlove not only with the Korean culture per se but also with the experiences I had. Not to mention that I also gained friends along the way.

Why am I saying this?

I want to invite like-minded people to take our hobby to the next level.

If you're devoting much of your time watching dramas, following K-pop stars etc. why not channel those "fangirling" and "fanboying" passions to something that would benefit you in the long run? Self-improvement, culture immersion, having a third language ganyan.

In weeks time, maybe in the 3rd or last week of April, the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines is opening its doors again for Filipinos who are interested in learning more about Korea. If you're one of us and you have the time, will and budget (they offer classes at a very affordable price, mej mahal lang paminsan ang cost of living sa BGC kasi. hehe) why not try enrolling yourself in one of their classes?

And though they're not considered a language institute (more of hobbies lang kasi and it's a cultural center), I assure that you'll learn a lot. I passed my TOPIK beginner level 2 with the knowledge I learned from KCC's elem 1&2. :) TOPIK tips link: here.

ADDITIONAL INFO: Start 'em young! Enroll children aged 10-15 years old in their summer youth program from April 21 to May 9 ( 10 AM to 12 NN) for only P 200.00. Enroll online on April 9-11 and onsite on April 12.

Disappointed because the owner of the restaurant we were meaning to visit was still out to buy ingredients, we found this Korean Restaurant in 5362 Gen. Luna Street in Poblacion, Makati. Poblacion definitely has a lot of hidden gems.

Yey for wooden chopsticks.
Look at all these banchan/sidedishes.

Cubed Raddish Kimchi (깍두기), Spinach (시금치나물),  Kimchi ( 김치), Fish Cake (오뎅), Soybean Sprouts (콩나물무침), Pickled Radish (단무지) and lettuce (쌍추) to wrap your galbi or samgyeopsals in.

Soybean paste and that vinegar looking dip that tastes like wasabi.
Our order was Chicken Galbi
Really like Korean restaurants with exhaust. You know how clingy the smell of Korean food can be (Buti pa 'yung amoey e clingy). Imagine walking out of the restaurant smelling like food from hair to toe. Give away na give away na sa Korean restaurant ka nanggaling.

Our order was grilled by the waitress and compared to Yoogane's version,  this wasn't that spicy. Enough for an authentic Korean taste without numbing your tongue too much. Great for starters and those who aren't fond of spicy food.
Kimbap and Ttukboki
Lettuce and Onion Leek Salad was also served halfway our meal.

파절이

All in all, Seoul Galbi is one of the best Korean Restaurant I've been to.

Apart from the delicious taste of our food. They have big servings, good service and affordable prices.

Everything we had cost only P 550.00.
This may already be good for 3 persons but only 2 of us shared this meal. La eh. Takaw eh. :))

I have an idea on where I'll be at for 4 days in the 29 days left of April. For the 25 days that are left "unplanned", I know they're going to be great as well even if, even if, everyday is a struggle. :)) Diba, find that one thing that you're happy about and thankful for even when you're having a very bad day.

I attended mass today and it was again mentioned in the homily that we must open ourselves (thoughts etc.) to the possibility of receiving God's grace every moment of our lives. So, sabayan niyo ko at mag-claim, claim, claim, claim tayo ng lahat ng blessings na gusto naman Niyang ibigay sa'tin.

"I may not be there yet, but I am closer than I was yesterday."

I LOVE YOU, APRIL.
 KTNXBYE.
