At first I thought that since Family Mart is a Japanese convenience store, the matcha flavor of their soft-served ice cream would be "irreplaceable". I mean, in a span of one year, they've been pairing it with different flavors until a few months ago when I discovered that the green-colored ice cream they serve is now pistachio instead of matcha. And since that day of discovery, I haven't gone back to Family Mart. HAHAHA.

So ganun na lang ba 'yun? Pag wala na, hahayaan mo na lang?

HINDI! Naghanap ako ng mga bago. hahaha. #hugot

Na masarap, na swak sa taste at budget ko and here in Mochi Cream Cafe, I found one possible "replacement". Okay na sa P 100.00 'tong Matcha Parfait nila. Their matcha ice cream isn't that creamy which I like and it has a mild grassy aftertaste which I also like. Oh diba, I like. :))

But when I was looking for a picture online hahahaha

EXPECTATION
REALITY

Hindi naman ako mahilig sa red bean pero 'yung totoo? Nasan 'yung topping na mochi saka red bean?

I was okay with the taste, the serving and the corn flakes topping but when I saw that their matcha parfait is supposed to be served with other toppings... HUHU BAKET 'YUNG AKIN, HINDI MAGANDA?!!!!

In despite of this, yes, I see myself returning there especially when there are two branches near me (Trinoma and The Block). Even if I'm trying to reduce my food expenses these days, I still would allow myself a cheat day or two or three, sige na nga, ten just so I can eat matcha-flavored food/drink whenever I crave for it. :)))) #burgis

I got to know this cafe back in Vivo City, Singapore so when one of my friends texted me a few months ago (most of my friends know that I love anything matcha)

"Tin, may masarap na cafe sa Mega Fashion Hall. Madaming matcha options. St. Marc 'yung pangalan."

Parang ako, "OMG. MERON NA DITO. KAILANGAN PUNTAHAN."

But I seldom went South these past few months so it was only last January that I was able to go there.

Matcha Chococro (Kung tama 'yung pangalan)
P 60.00

Is a croissant with white chocolate and matcha filling.
Wag ka iiyak ah kasi ako naiiyak ako nung kinagatan ko 'to.

Buti pa sa'min ng matcha, may forever.
Buti pa pag nakakakita ako ng matcha, kinikilig ako.

EDI WOW. HAHAHAHA.

In all seriousness, you might also want to try this. The matcha's not so potent and it tastes good paired with white chocolate. Bitin lang talaga kasi medyo maliit.
MIYAKO

Black Sugar Syrup, Vanilla Ice Cream, Red Bean Paste, Bracken Starch Dumpling, Rostead Soybean Flour, Matcha Ice Cream. <3
This is one of the best-sellers there so I also gave it a try.

This also tastes good though it's not something that I'll crave for the same "degree" that I'll crave for chococro.

I'd love to try their other matcha products soon. Chill chill doon na may matcha latte ganyan. :))

P.S. FOR NORTH PEOPLE: MAGKAKA-BRANCH SILA UP TOWN CENTER!

One of my girl friends and I have this annual tradition of "dating" every love month, walang lalake eh edi kami na lang. Last January, she texted me if I can watch a concert with her on February 1.

The impulsive me immediately said yes before even asking who the concert artists are.

Nung nalaman ko, "The Vamps? OMG. Sino sila?!" HAHAHAHAHA.

I don't know who they were so I did my homework and listened to them in Spotify for several days before the concert.

***
Come Feb. 1, may sakit ako. I forgot that medicines for flu cause one to feel sleepy so I fell half-asleep during the MRT ride from North Avenue Station to Taft Avenue. And what do you expect? Wala na ko sa mood pagdating ko ng MOA kasi kakagising ko lang. HAHAHAHA!

As I was walking towards Mall of Asia Arena, the fans, who are mostly younger than me, were already freaking out. Was I not just in the mood? Was it because of generation gap? Whatever the reason was, I was still shocked seeing the behavior and the fashion style of the majority of The Vamps' fans. Sana sinabihan din kasi akong mag hanging top at shorts! Haha.:))))

While waiting for the concert to start, my friend briefed me with the names of the members and their age.

Upon knowing their ages, "Hala. Hindi ba tayo makakasuhan ng child abuse?" We're not that old. Early 20's pa rin naman kami but the feeling's different when you're watching a band who's younger than you. #tumatandaproblems

It's a good thing that the member I liked the most is in his 20's already so pwede na, hindi na masyadong makasalanan. Hello, Abs. Hello,V-line. Hello, James McVey! HAHAHAHA!
At the beginning, I kind of felt lost. 'Yung totoo, anong ginagawa ko dito?
After a song or two, medyo napupunta na ko sa mood. Concert mode on, ganyan.
It was really obvious though who my bias is. Hahaha!
We were in the lower box section but it was still far from the stage but even if I couldn't see their faces well, I was only looking at James then. :))))
Used my Sony TX30 for all the photos in this post.
The zoom function of that camera's surprisingly good.
And in all fairness, I was able to go with the flow and sang to some of their songs. Good thing I memorized some of  the lyrics the night before. Hindi ako lost kid! :))
I am a fan now. Hindi hardcore fan but given the chance to watch them live again, I will.

The Vamps doesn't only sing good and catchy songs, they're also excellent performers, and they treat their fans well. I was able to look at James' instagram account and I was surprised to know that he even posts pictures of some fans in his account. And for a fangirl? Aba, dream come true kaya 'yon!

Compilation of the videos I recorded during their concert.

Ka-alternate ng Photograph ni ED Sheeran sa utak ko. HAHAHA.

Somebody to You - The Vamps ft. Demi Lovato

NEXT GOAL: Magpaka-kontesera para makakuha ng concert ticket ni Ed Sheeran on March 12, 2015 or bibili na lang ng Gen Ad. Ubos na raw kasi. Ansakit. </3

Cinema One Screening pa 'to ng That Thing Called Tadhana (November), at ngayong ilang araw na lang e ipapalabas na ulit 'yun sa theater, na-post ko 'to.

Sabi sa movie, "There all kinds of love in this world but never the same love twice." diba? Samin, parang pareho naman, palitan mo lang ng food 'yung love. Never the same food twice. HAHAHA. Yan. Jubis. :))

I've tried a lot of Katsu specialty restaurants and what sets Katsu Sora apart from the rest is their buffet-style refills.
You have a lot of  vegetable and salad choices.
Different variants of fruits too.
And dressings.
This was my salad bowl... obviously.
I don't know if it's because I chose the least expensive pork variant but this Sakura Pork isn't that tender and flavorful.
I don't know what these toppings are called but they add flavor to the rice... obviously.
Although the meat fell short on my expectations (mas sosyal na pork variant na lang kung makabalik ako), I really liked Katsu Sora's set-up with all the options placed in a buffet table for customers to get. Iba pa rin 'yung kayo lang ng mga ka-table mo nakakaalam kung gaano karami kinain mo. Hahahaha.

Is a long introduction needed for Crazy Katsu? For most, I don't think so.

But for my mother who didn't know that it is one of the restaurants in Maginhawa, I still needed to explain when I brought them there... :)

"Ano? Crazy Katsu?"
"Oo nga. Sa Maginhawa."
"Crazy talaga?"
"Oo."
"Maganda naman pakinggan pag crazy. Wag mo lang ta-Tagalugin na baliw... kasi ikaw na 'yon."

HAHAHAHAHA. Yan ah, sa nanay ko pa nanggaling 'yan.

With generous serving and affordable price, this is one of the Katsu restaurants you must try when craving for Tonkatsu yet not prepared to pay  Php 400+ and/or eat unli rice/cabbage. No. Actually, there's no need to compare it to pricier Katsu restaurant because... because. :))))) Laking tulong ko talaga kahit kelan e, noh? Huhu. Sorry na kasi last year pa 'to lahat.

But they really have good food there and although I don't have a picture of it, I like their chicken katsu (chicken katsu nga ba?) better than this.
