What will be the contents of this post?

EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm
Human Nature Peppermint Lip Balm
Colourpop Lipstick Swatches

ANG HABA NGA LANG HAHAHA

Anyway,

Believe it or not, I almost brought everything with me when I went to the states. Even the immigration officer in Los Angeles Airport scolded me for bringing two kilos of rice grains. HAHAHA! Well, I was a first-timer and those were the days when I thought I wouldn't last a day without eating a rice meal. What's the connection of rice and lip balms? I also brought five lip balms with me so I had no reason to look for more lip balms while in the states.

While living there

I got to own my first lipsticks from Colourpop which are their Matte X's in Love Life, Trust Me, Cami, and Bootie.

Trust Me on my lips link: here.
Cami on my lips link: here.
Bootie on my lips link: here.

I ordered another set of lipsticks from Colourpop because I decided that I'll bring home some for my closest friends. I ordered Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks in Bumble and Bad Habit and Ultra Satin Lipstick in Lyin' King for myself.

Lyin' King on my lips: here.
Bumble on my lips: here.

(Want to own an authentic Colourpop Lipstick? Go to BeautyMNL's website because they started selling CP last weekend. Link: here.)

So anong connect?

The past several weeks, I noticed that I stopped wearing my reds (Lyin' King, an USL was my favorite) and instead reached for my Cami, Nude Nuance and Bumble often which are all matte lipsticks.

I thought that HHN wasn't doing a very good job in making my lips smooth overnight especially when it's Bumble that I wore all throughout the day. That's the reason why several weeks ago, I had this brilliant idea of putting coconut oil and honey on my lips before going to sleep because it'll be very moisturizing, they said; you'll have smoother lips when you wake up, they said.

Do you know what I woke up to? The horror of having irritated and rough lips. Small itchy bumps developed on my upper lip too.

What I did was just use my HHN lip balm for several days until my lips went back to normal, the peppermint in it helped with the alleviation of the itchiness and the rough skin and bumps slowly disappeared.

Then, I remembered I still have two unopened EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm with me that I was saving as a pasalubong for a friend. Given the fact that I bought those for somebody else, I never thought of opening them. But I'm impulsive like that so I got the dark pink one and opened it. What happened? Wala ng pasalubong si friend. Both EOS Spheres are mine now. lol. :))

We decided to not look for a restaurant in Chinatown and instead head to this foodpark for our early dinner. It was during the game 8 of NBA when we went there so isn't it something, diba? Watching a Golden State Warriors game in the Golden State. hehe. lol. I am not a basketball fan but it felt like an activity I can't afford to miss. Hahaha!

I had a hard time looking for a food that I liked to eat that day. This is actually the problem when you bring someone as indecisive as me in a food park where there are too much good choices.

NEWEST FOOD PARK HERE IN QUEZON CITY: The Yard, Xavierville, Katipunan
After walking around all the stalls, we lost the table we found for us. 'Yan talaga life, kakapili mo e nawala na pala 'yung talagang andyan para sa'yo. HAHA!
When we were ready to order, the food park was packed so we couldn't find a table anymore. That's the reason why I decided to order an udon here because it was easier to eat even when standing.
Yes. Life. <3
I prefer thinner noodles so it's rare that I'll get myself an udon but I really wanted to taste this one. This was a simple garlic and cheese udon with chicken but it was delicious a filling.
Yey for the viewing party though they lost the game.
Bye, San Fo! :(

Yup, you read that right!

The Master of Buffet Cuisine has branched out up north!
The sixth and newest branch of Sambokojin Buffet is now open at G/F Annex 2, SM Fairview.

I've eaten for a lot of times in Sambokojin at both their West Avenue and SM Megamall branches. Want to check them out? Links: here. and here.

Since the SM Megamall branch was outstanding for me already, I wasn't really looking forward to new stuff but Sambokojin has surprised me once again. It has been more than a year since I last ate there and oh boy, it just keeps getting better and better!

The next part would be some pictures I took when I was there. Ready? Better be! 'Cause these pictures will show you a GLIMPSE of an unforgettable culinary journeys of Korea and Japan.

Let's start?

Widest sushi options!

I always start of my buffet visit with sushi as my appetizer. Haha! I don't know the names of each of these but one thing's for sure. They are a delight not only to the eyes but to the palate as well. Sarap, bes!

There are too many options that it felt like even if I had taken lots of pictures already, still was not enough. haha! And just imagine all the possibilities 'cause you can eat as much as you want! Dito talagang see food diet!

These are the real appetizers though.

Oh my, may carving section na!?

These premium meat carvings are Buta Hara Rosuto (roast pork belly), Hitsugi Rosuto (roast leg of lamb) and Gyuniku Rosuto (roast beef).

Not only do you have several meat to choose from, you also have several sauces! Huhu! I love that the roast pork belly was very crunchy and the roast beef was flavorful and tender.

In the usual party experience, when you're one of the last people to queue in line in a buffet and there's lechon baboy, you wouldn't even get the chance to try the pig's skin. That's not the same here though, I kept passing by this area but there always ware pork slices with crispy skin. So obvious, noh? Isa talaga kong balat hoarder. haha! :D

More options for the Japanese cuisine!

Some of these are takoyaki, sukiyaki, okonomiyaki, robatayaki, katsu and furai. You can also order kamameshi rice.

Korean appetizers/ Banchan and sauces for your samgyeopsal!

For other Korean cuisine options, they have Galbi Jjim, Beef Bulgogi, Kimchi Rice, Bibimbap, Chapchae, etc.

Premium Seafood and Meats for grilling.

Sambokojin is the perfect place for celebrations. With these options, there will surely be something for everyone! From the kids to the grandparents, from that person who eats everything to the pickiest eater.

Especially for a family get-together, choosing where to eat is actually the hardest. Why? We have different preferences when it comes to food or sometimes, people arrive late that most of the food orders have been eaten. With Sambokojin's consistently complete and regularly replenished buffet dishes? Problem solved! Daming options at laging meron!

Sukiyaki, Ramen, Udon, Soba and other noodles for all of your noodle cravings.

Fry options!

Maniwala ka, laging may shrimp tempura. Di naga-agawan bes, chill ka lang.

Different flavors of Korean Fried Chicken and Katsus

If you can notice, most of their food are properly labeled. Walang experience kumain ng Japanese or Korean cuisine? No problem! Dito ka na magsimulang matuto.

Drinks are included already.

Look at all the available drinks that you can get and there are also a lot of shake options that you can ask for.

Grilling time!

Yakiniku / Korean Barbecue

If you have no prior experience with using grills like this, you can ask the attendants to help you. Pero hindi eh, for me the grilling should be done by you. Mas masaya! It's a smokeless grill by the way so no worries that you'll smell like food once you step out of Sambo.

This is what I'm talking about.

They wrap cheese, sweet potato and crab sticks in meat slices. My favorite is the cheese one topped with Sambokojin's version of teriyaki sauce! I ate too much that I didn't even mind having dinner that day.

Aside from the juices, I also asked for four seasons shake and mango shake just because I can. haha! Drinks are now included and interchangeable but make sure to only get food that you can consume because there's a charge of P 200.00 for left-overs.

Remember your table number because some buffet items can be ordered and delivered to your table.

Look for the place where I sat. Chos. :))

SM Fairview branch is currently their largest branch with 140 tables that can accommodate 300 - 400 diners. Also, take notice of the wall design. So Japanice! So Japanese, I mean!

Ready na for dessert?

Make sure to leave enough space for your dessert.

In the picture above are all three cakes that I like. I'm glad they have their versions of a green tea cake, japanese cheesecake and ube mousse!

Did you know that Sambokokin has now to-go options? Thanks to their Goodness To Go that even if someone wasn't able to go to the buffet and celebrate with you, you can bring some home for them just like these cakes. The prices for each food item vary.

Instagram worthy dessert? Di lang! Drool worthy at more calorie intake worthy din! haha!

You can ask Kuya chef to make you a crepe.

Fresh fruit slices and this cutie owl fruit carving.

Nakakapagod din ah. haha!

Gora na gora na ba?

WAIT LANG! Wala pa 'yung star of the meal, at least for me. :))

Ito na!!!!!!!!!!

Ice cream!!!!

Chocolate, Mocha, Vanilla, Orange, Strawberry and MATCHA!!!! M.A.T.C.H.A!!!!!!
Matcha ice cream!!

For more arte and just because I can put everything I can think of with my matcha ice cream, I asked Kuya to make me a crepe and put scoops of matcha ice cream in it. Of course, hindi ako kuntento so I added one more scoop on top.

Kahit may vanilla, strawberry, mocha, chocolate, orange ice cream pati na ibang flavors ng gelato e ikaw pa rin pipiliin ko kasi matcha made in heaven tayo.❤ LUH

I will definitely see you again, Sambokojin!!

These are the prices.

Yes, UPTC?
Char! :)

I've been trying to locate this in UPTC for months but I never had the chance to go farther than its old building where Merkado Supermarket is at which obviously is not the case this time.

After eating at Shawarma Bros, we headed to the Cinemas where a pop-up store of Manila Creamery is.

Manila Creamery
A Gelato Company

Discounted prices are at P 85.00 (regular) and P 110.00 (premium) per scoop depending on which flavor you like. I can say that it's not bad especially since each cup has hefty contents in it - it's like 1 1/2 scoop to me.

Their flavors are all very interesting 'cause they put the Filipino food specialties in a different light. I mean, it's a way which we can introduce "our" flavors to the world. Flavors that are unfamiliar in a way that's familiar - through gelato.

It was almost closing time when we got there. As you can see, not a lot were left in each tub but we were still able to taste all of the options that night.

I wasn't listening 'cause I got so engrossed in looking at the available gelato flavors so I didn't hear when exactly is their fixed store going to open but it's definitely within this month - October.

Watch out for it 'cause I'll be back for more gelato fix! Haha! Seriously though, watch out for it! One of the best, guys! 'Yung feeling na gelato pero sariling atin, ganon.

As we were taking photos of these four flavors (mangga suman latik, ube langka, huhu I forgot the other two), Jen - a blogger friend, made a very interesting and relevant hugot remark. hahaha!!! Here it is non-verbatim: Kailangan tikman muna lahat ng masarap bago mag-decide kung alin ang gusto.

I borrowed it and posted my chosen flavors in my Facebook and Instagram page with the caption:

'Yung kailangan mo muna tikman lahat ng mesherep bago ka pumili. || 'Yung pumili ka na pero hindi talaga pwede sa'yo na isa lang kaya humirit ka pa ng isa. (Pero inside joke 'to o isipin mo na lang gusto mo isipin. Haha!)

My first was their Blueberry Cheesecake Gelato.

Of all the available Philippines -inspired flavors, why blueberry cheesecake?

Ansaya.

Ube Gelato

This reminded me of my beloved ube from Baguio. I've read articles saying that ube is the new matcha. Not that ube is inferior but they're totally not in the same field!

I also liked Davao Chocolate - their version of dark chocolate. I will definitely go back for that and their other flavors! haha!

Back to our hugot which stemmed out from our indecisiveness, I therefore conclude na meron mang mga bagay na dapat ka talagang mamili kung alin ang pinakagusto mo e kahit kailan hindi kasama dyan ang gelato. Hindi talaga kakayanin! Sobrang hirap.

In fairness, match naman ang hugot at gelato, diba? Manila Creamery is gelato made the Manila way. Then, Manila is the capital of the Philippines na lahat na lang ng sabihin e kinapupulutan ng kanya-kanyang hugot! lol. Kasi buti pa 'tong gelato, worth it! :))

With the hellish traffic we experience these days, it's pretty much given that people would rather just find someplace worth visiting within the vicinity of their home. For me, unless my friends from the South want to meet-up or there's something that I really need to do, South area has become a place wherein I would have to think things over and over before going to.

That's why it's always a delight to me whenever I find out that a restaurant that I've eaten at in the South has finally branched out here in the North just like Shawarma Bros and in UP Town Center at that! The first time I have eaten at Shawarma Bros was in their BGC Stopover branch.

This is their third branch following the one in Venice Grand Canal.

It's easy to find them in UPTC.

I'm not good in teaching/ showing directions but this is in the new building near Balara gate. If you're familiar with the area where restaurants from UPD (ex.: The Chocolate Kiss, Rodic's) are located in UPTC, Shawarma Bros is also along that strip of food establishments.

Anyhow, I've put the exact locations and contact numbers of all their three branches below.

These are their sauces. I don't eat spicy food that much (except Korean cuisine) so these sauces are fine for me. For those of you who prefer spicy sauce, they have their own version of hot sauce now by the counter.

These are their rice meals once again. I got chicken just like before. I have actually forgotten how good Shawarma Bros is since it has been a year since I've eaten there but I'm reminded now so... :) It's also a plus that compare to most restaurants you can find in UPTC, they belong to the more reasonable and affordable price range. Pwedeng-pwede na!

This is one of the new items in their menu.
Pita Tostadas and Garlic Hummus
P 80.00

This one may be sinful because of the fried pita bread but you can opt to have the regular one instead. I've eaten hummus for a lot of times already but none of those times did I actually crave for it days after, you know, that I started to look up recipes online because I badly wanted to eat it.

The pita bread might look hard in the picture but it's soft and matches very well with the garlic hummus - sobrang okay as an appetizer. Not only is this good on its own, Pita Tostadas and Garlic Hummus compliments the shawarma rice plates we had. Huhu gusto ko ulit nito!

These are the sauces.

For me, I choose the tomato and garlic dip.

Cheese goes better with their version of nachos called Keema Nachos.

I know there are grated cheese in this already but an added cheese sauce wouldn't hurt! haha!

Extra keema for us carnivores. Char. :)

Staying true to its roots (being a food truck in Pasig), Shawarma bros still has this kind of order counter. This kind of setting suggests that food truck experience in a busy city.
