Albeit not being able to recall which was the first milk tea I've tasted this, Happy Lemon's Green Tea With Rock Salt, is the first I've tried if you're going to talk about those teas which have creams on top.

This was my basis or standard upon ordering similar drinks at Gong Cha, Chatime etc.  Hmm, this was the first I had and I was satisfied so I wanted to try and compare it with somewhere else's version.

And after around 6 months, it's only now I've ordered this again so, I don't know. Was I not really paying attention to its taste before? Why is it that this tastes like flowers? A mild jasmine tea if I'm not mistaken. I seriously didn't notice the floral taste then.

Upon tasting this again, Chatime's Oolong Tea Mousse tops my list.

For Happy Lemon, I'm back to Milk Tea With Oreo Cookies and Cream or I might just try something else. :>

Ano ba makukuha sa gelatin?

I've been eating gelatin for years (unflavored nga lang o kaya pag may gatas, ayoko 'yung maasim) before I raised that question of what nutrients are in a gelatin. I decided to search my knowledgeable friend, google, and found out that it's full of proteins and amino-acids. However, as I was searching, I also found out that gelatin is made from animals? Which part of animals? Bones, pigskin..., animal collagen. Whaaatthefff? From what I know, gelatin from the Philippines aren't animal derived but from a seaweed. So, I continued searching and yes, eventhough gelatin and gulaman are interchangeable in the Philippine context, the ingredients are very much different. Gulaman's derived from a seaweed with a scientific name of Gracilaria Compressa or Agar-Agar for a more familiar name (I think) More infos.: 1, 2, 3 and 4.

So, the other day, we had that dessert from Goldilock's named Cathedral's Window which I didn't like at all because of the sour taste of the gulaman. But since I wanted to eat, I just cooked my own gulaman, apparently we had Lady's Choice Clear Alsa at home and other ingredients as well, I decided to make Leche Tin instead.  A combination of Leche Flan ingredients and gelatin.

Note: Too lazy to look up the measurements so I didn't follow any on this, I just made it according to my taste... or instinct.

2 eggs, 1 Can of Evaporated Milk,  1/2 Can of Condensed Milk for 1 box of unflavored alsa.

Alsa is sold in those small boxes which would be easier to cook rather than this one that we have at home. Tantiyahan 'to ng sobra, nakakatamad kumuha ng timbangan.

Mix the first three ingredients and cook the alsa or gulaman of choice as per the package instruction.
While simmering, add the egg mixture while constantly stirring and just wait for a while before transferring everything into a mold.

Just wait for it to set, harden? And enjoy!

Simple, right? I know some people likes more ingredients on theirs, but I prefer to make it with just these four.

Also,

1. It's better to use colored gulaman, of course, to add more color. This looks too pale if you're gonna serve it like this.
2. It also tastes good even if  it's just a combination of all-purpose cream and gulaman. .

Korean Cultural Center of the Philippines' Library

Despite the fact that I've been to KCC for so many times, it's only my first time visiting the library. And I don't know if this is prohibited or what but my friend and I took pictures when we went there.

내 뒤에 책들이 다 읽을 수 있을까?
I'm still far from being fluent with Korean but I'm glad that I'm now able to understand some.

Anyone can enter the library to read books or watch Kdramas. I think, you're not just allowed to a borrow anything if you're not a library member nor a student.

There's a Ceramic Exhibit at Korean Cultural Center (KCC) at Taguig.

Installed for the celebration of their First Year Anniversary and would be available for viewing until around October.

My friends and I tried ice skating at MOA yesterday, we were all first timers except for one. She knows her thing while the rest if us were trembling at first, trembling with excitement? fear? low temperature? I say, ALL.

For P 390.00, an unlimited weekend pass inclusive of shoes rental and the chance to learn a new skill... worth it, isn't it?

P 30.00 for a locker, and there are also available kuyas whom you can pay for skating tutorials.

P.S All pics are from them, I can barely manage skating much more operating a camera.

There isn't a different fee for shoe rental, it's included with the entrance fee, just have to bring your socks with you.

I learned.
But only when I have companions I can skate from one end to another.

I didn't fell down,  but I didn't skate around alone that much either. I had to stay by the sides so I'd have something to hold onto on most times. Or I'd have to ask them to stay with me and go near the center so we can skate alone going back to the railings. Haha
Foam snow

This is what I'm talking about, 50% of the time, I was just there practicing at the sides. Hahaha.

It's not like I came there with the expectations of learning nor being good, but I did! Well, not that good, but I learned. I just have to try skating again and maybe break through the barriers that are stopping me.

You may learn the basics from watching,  from reading a book and by asking pointers from others, but the best thing is to get down there and try. You may need the help of others or look for something to hold onto at first, but once you've gathered enough courage, you'd be able to let go of the railings or hands of your friends and go farther by yourself.

It was a tiresome but very enjoyable night!
Now waiting for our second time..
