I was finally able to go back in the area where I spent most of my days before, Bonifacio Global City.

You know what frustrates me? It's that we found it hard to find a decent and affordable meal before aside from fastfood chains and yet they are almost everywhere in BGC now. -_-

One of those that I have tried is Shawarma Bros at Bonifacio Stopover which offers reasonably-priced meals without compromising the product quality.

Order here.
They were a food truck before deciding to put up their flagship restaurant for stability.

I'm slow at noticing things like this pero mukhang truck pala 'yung order area at may pedestrian lane pa oh. hehehe.
They are not claiming that they are offering authentic Persian and Mediterranean cuisine but as to what I have tried, their food tastes close to authentic and it is actually good in its own way.
I love the idea of printing out Instagram screenshots and posting them there for other diners to see.
Syempre diba, when you're taking time editing your Instagram-worthy picture, one thing that would make you prouder other than having an awesome IG feed is when the establishments you Instagrammed or other people recognize/appreciate your post.
This was my order
Beef Shawarma Rice with Keema Meal
P 229.00

The first thing I noticed when they served me my food is that the serving size is big.
Keema
Cheese and Garlic Yogurt Dip

You get to choose two sauces for your food.

I liked the garlic yogurt dip more than the cheese. Maybe it's because I was having rice that I didn't appreciate the cheese sauce that much.
One thing you'd notice when you're eating with your fellow bloggers is how everyone is taking time taking pictures of the food that it gets cold before one is able to have his/her first bite.

No regrets and not complaining because this is HOW we usually are. Mas komportable nga kesa 'yung kakain ka kasama 'yung hindi mahilig magkuha ng pictures kasi kailangan mo pa magpaliwanag at pigilan silang kumain agad. Haha.

My order was beef but it wasn't greasy so I had no problem eating my food even if it has already gotten a bit cold.
A closer look of the printed out Instagram posts.
Drop by, experience their food, be part of the story and celebrate friendships at Shawarma Bros.

This is my second post about this Korean dessert cafe in Bonifacio Global City. I posted this because the last time I went there, I had a strawberry bingsu for free. Promote promote din. lolz. It's not free because I blog, it was free because I Instagram.

Cafe Seolhwa, Forum South, Bonifacio Global City. The building is near The Fort Strip. Oh, you might also want to try Seoul Express (TFS) and O'rice (FSG) for more Korean food experience. :>

Anyhow, it has been more than a month since I won so I am not sure if the contest is still ongoing. Follow @seolhwabingsu and @xtintina sa IG na lang for more details. 'Yung @xtintina talaga nagdala eh. Hahahaha!

Thank you so much, Cafe Seolhwa! Winning really made my night. It was night time when I found out that I won. Eating made my afternoon. It was a hot afternoon when I claimed this. Bakit ba ang dami kong sinasabi? 'Yung totoo. Hahahaha.

Thank you, @seolhwabingsu for my free #딸기 #빙수.👍 #strawberry #bingsu #dessert #cafeseolhwa #bgc #forum

This was my free strawberry bingsu. I was shocked when Cafe Seolhwa tagged me in a post saying that I won their Instagram contest. I was just mindlessly hashtagging #cafeseolhwa and #seolhwabingsu but it turned out that I sent an entry. Not complaining. :">

Before and after of our 진짜 좋아하는 빙수... #bingsu #dessert #cafeseolhwa #mango #strawberry #cheese #chocolate @seolhwabingsu 👍

We ordered these flavors: Mango Cheesecake and Chocolate Brownie.

You might see me there or you might see my friends there. Basta the energetic bunch who would stay there for several hours during Saturdays. Hehehehe. Infairness naman sa'min, we order a lot kaya keri lang!

If Cafe Seolhwa had a membership card, my friends would have the VVVVVIP card by now.
Didn't think that I'd like this flavor too. 😊😊😊 Di pala na-upload kagabi.😍 @seolhwabingsu #cafeseolhwa #injeolmi #인절미 #빙수 #bingsu #toast #dessert #economical

And we weren't satisfied with just ordering three flavors, we ordered this economical meal composed of injeolmi bingsu with injeolmi toast.

Injeolmi, for those who don't know, is one of the variants of tteok a.k.a Korean rice cake. Korean cuisine has many kinds of tteok and a more popular type would be the one used in cooking tteokbokki, the garaetteok. Anyway, what make injeolmi and garaetteok different is injeolmi's coating/gomul and its chewy consistency that can be compared with Japan's mochi.

Enough of this culinary lesson because it's not the rice cake that made me want this variant too but the powder. I can't explain the taste, as always, but this is interesting to the palate. hehehehe.

Look at how fine the shaved ice is. Ka-miss pls!! Gusto ko tuloy kumain ulit.
If I were to rank these bingsu, I'd pick this mango cheesecake as my first.

Strawberry Bingsu and Injeolmi would be tied at second place
Chocolate Brownie would be the last.

More more more. hehe. So far, I've only tried four of the many bingsu offerings of Cafe Seolhwa. Hehehe. I shall return!

This is one of the new Korean Restaurants in Bonifacio Global City. It is in the same building with Cafe Seolhwa. This is on the first floor, Seolhwa is on the second.
You put the rainbow in my eyes. A silver lining in my prayers and now there's #colors everywhere... 🎵🎶🎼 🍴 #orice #art #ahrti #lunch

It was a hot Saturday afternoon and we were all craving for something sweet and cold so we went to Forum South Global Building for Seolhwa. But we hadn't eaten our lunch yet so we entered O'rice...
This is the cheapest Kimbap variant in ther menu.

This big Tuna Kimbap was our order. I know that it doesn't look big here in the picture, but its size is twice to thrice the regular-sized kimbap that we know... toinks, but size is relative pa rin, diba? Hehe. Anyway, this tasted good! And they didn't skimp on the ingredients as well kaya sulit na rin. I was full after eating four pieces.
And that day, I found out that eating kimbap with mayonnaise and chili powder tastes good!

Someday, I'll go back there to try their other food options because they have a lot!

And, meron din palang plus points para sa paminsan-minsang fire show galing sa open kitchen nila. hehehe.

Second time at Cafe Seolhwa link: here.

One way of beating the incredibly hot weather that we're having these days is to eat something cold, right? That's what my friends and I did last Saturday. I haven't been going to BGC for months so it's not surprising that there are a lot of new restaurants to try. One addition to the newly-opened restaurants in the area is Cafe Seolhwa, a Korean dessert shop that specializes in bingsu.

I have seen posts of Facebook friends dining here at Cafe Seolhwa but it was only when someone posted a green-colored bingsu with red bean that I became so interested. I knew at that moment that I NEED to find Cafe Seolhwa and eat their Matcha and Red Bean Bingsu. If you've visited this blog before, you would know that I am close to being addicted to matcha (close to being addicted lang! iba naman siguro 'yung addict talaga. haha!) that I still went even if this is located in BGC. Time to make new memories there anyway so... :)

Here is their bestseller: Mango and Cheese Bingsu and my ever favorite: Matcha and Red Bean Bingsu

😂😂💗 #cafeseolhwa #seolhwacafe #bingsu #matcha #matcharap #설화 #dessert

This was the first time I ate bingsu and when I had my first spoonful of Seolhwa's goodness, I immediately asked myself, "Why have I never tried eating bingsu before?" Now, my standard for eating one would be Seolhwa's and I think it would be hard to beat. Do you know other dessert shops that serve bingsu? Tell me please. :)

The ice was really fine, it felt like I was eating ice cream.

To my surprise, cheese and mango complemented each other well. It's a flavor combination that was new to me but I liked it a lot.

As for the matcha, hihihi, I love it!!! But it's because I'm into the potent matcha taste that I loved this a lot. I know a lot of people who would rather that the matcha be creamier. I think Seolhwa Cafe should also offer a variant which is a mix of matcha and the milk flavored snow ice (snow ice nga ba tawag dun?) that the cheese and mango bingsu has. You know, for those who prefer their matcha creamy. Matcha talaga priority ko eh. Halata ba? hehehe.

I really have a hard time expressing myself when it comes to food/ restaurant reviews because I don't know how to critic food. I hope to come up with a better post about this cafe in the future. Yes, there will definitely be a next time. <3

You. Yes, you.
You should be proud of me that I've already gone back to BGC for four times since February this year. :))

Kailangan ng recovery periods in between pero keri. Okay naman din mag-explore sa QC.

Kantang Sugar ni Flo Rida? 'Yan 'yung sinasayaw nung crew sa Coldstone nung kinuha ko 'tong litratong 'to.
Strawberry Ice Cream, Graham Cracker Pie Crust, Strawberries, Caramel, Whipped Cream

Our Strawberry Blonde? :) Martyr. HAHAHAHA.
Cheesecake Ice Cream, Oreo Cookies, Graham Cracker Pie Crust, Fudge

The Pie Who Loved Me? Kahit loved na 'yan at past tense na. At least hindi siya, The Pie Who Left Me.
Serendra? Dyan applicable 'yung, "We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place. We stay there, even if we go away. And there are things in us that we can find only by going back there."

Ako?

Phase lang 'to.

Pero ito matinong post tungkol sa Coldstone!

Cheesecake Fantasy in Coldstone, SM North EDSA link: here.

P.S. Masyado kong pinakinggan 'yung pain and fear na bumubulong sa'kin. I forgot the happiness this place and I shared for a lot of times. Hindi ako nagpunta lang and I decided not to make new memories in this place kahit ang daming potential memories sana kasi natakot ako. Pero, never again. Braver me na. DIBERRRRR! All of these things, in preparation for S.Kor. Yan. Yan. What do broken hearts do? Travel. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

The first time I tried eating there was in 2012 (that's the year when I started going to BGC anyway. Haha. Munshongerks po.) and I didn't like the food at all which explains the lack of blog post. I don't even remember what was the exact dish I had but it was chicken and my friends had sisig, batchoy etc. and we all agreed on one thing as we left the restaurant, "No second time here."

Then recently a friend was like, "I know a restaurant in the area that offers unlimited rice." Grabe, gutom siya. Hindi niya sinabi 'yun dahil malakas ako mag-rice!! HAHAHAHA.

As I saw Floring's facade my first reaction was, "Tara, Jollibee or KFC or Mcdo na lang."

You know, that feeling when you know you're about to waste your money again.

But the friend insisted so I gave in and gave Floring's a second chance.

Garlic Kangkong
P 80.00 (?)

It was my friend who told me to try this out and so I did.

Bacon-Liempo Kawali

In all fairness, I loved their version of lechon kawali.
The skin was crispy and they managed to retain the tenderness of the meat. I also liked that the layer of fat was thin (ANORAW!?) And, the sauce also went well with the meat.

Have they improved or we just ordered the right dishes this time, I don't know. All I know is that if you order both of these dishes, you'll enjoy dining there too.

Floring's is more expensive than fast food but it's definitely cheaper than other food establishments in the area and given that they serve unlimited rice adds to reasons why it's worth trying (Or re-trying) out.
