Went back to Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Laguna and ate here at TBS Blue Corner.

I don't know if it's because we're out-of-town that the feeling's different (Hello naman sa'yo, Crisologo Turo Turo) or it's just not your typical Turo Turo place, or I guess it's because Paseo's leaning on the high-end or sossy spectrum that's why their Turo Turo is too. Hahaha. Or it's just me. :)))

It's better to walk around Paseo when you're ready for shopping or at least have some budget allocated for anything discounted that you'd find there.
There are a lot of outlet stores in the place so if you like buying branded things, you might want to check Paseo out. There are some stores that offer up to 70% discount.
We parked on this side of Paseo
The parking space in the middle of Paseo and Sta. Rosa Wet Market.

Their wet market's really clean and didn't even smell like one. Just like Market! Market's! only theirs sell meat too aside from flowers and fruits.
When you arrive at the back of the wet market, there are two turo turo's available.
I kind of feel sorry to say this but since the other carinderia didn't have that much customers and TBS had most of their tables full, where are you going to eat?

But okay, these two made me stay!!

Kinilaw na Tanigue and Lechon Kawali.

Complimentary Bulalo Soup for starter.
Fried just right so the meat's still soft and chewable.
The skin's crispy and didn't have that much fat.

Lechon Kawali
P 150.00/order
Wasn't able to taste this but they told me it's good.

Sinigang sa Miso na Maya-Maya
P 150.00/order
Bet na bet!!

Whoever said this is just for "pulutan" hasn't paired this with rice yet.
Or maybe it's just me and my love for anything with vinegar.

Parati na lang it's just me.  hahaha

Kilawin Na Tanigue
P 150.00/order
I didn't like this that much because it was too oily. 'Yun lang. Bow

Sizzling Sisig
P 120.00

Rice: P 12.00/order
Although it looks like this, it feels that you're dining in a restaurant too since the waitresses they have there are even more attentive than other restaurants I've been at.

If you're going up Tagaytay and are looking for someplace to eat or stop-over at, do check this place for some affordable and delicious Filipino food.

Try their other sizzling offers, ang bango pag may dumadaan sa likod namin eh.

Commuting Directions to Paseo de Sta. Rosa: Enchanted Kingdom is in Sta. Rosa, Laguna too, right? (Mai-link lang e noh? Haha!)

So from Starmall in EDSA, ride an FX to Balibago (last year the fare was P 70.00 with 40-50 minutes travel time sans traffic), then from Balibago you may ride a tricycle that would take you to Paseo.

Hihi. Follow me on Instagram.

This is our nth Shakey's meal for the past weeks.
Medyo sumobra talaga 'to kasi sunod-sunod.

I've never imagined that I would ever say no to Shakey's until these past few weeks. There was even two consecutive nights that I ate there for dinner. I AM NOT COMPLAINING AT ALL. Thank you, thank you pa rin pero sa iba naman sana.  hahaha!

Did you know that you have the freedom to choose which pizzas will come with your Monster Meal Deal?
Mojos and Chicken
Angus Beef Steakhouse

My friend told me that this would taste better in thick crust because it's more on the salty side but since I love thin crust pizzas,
I was like, "Okay lang 'yan."

The saltiness was fine for me though and it was just spiced right.

Aside from the Angus beef, there were shoestring potatoes and mushroom slices too.

I'm not "adventurous" with my pizzas. If not pepperoni, I'd usually order cheese or four cheese. In fact, I have never tried eating pizza with steak topping until the first Saturday of this month when my friend and I dined at Nolita, BGC (That meal was undocumented but their cheese pizza's great and so filling because a slice is HUGE!! While the pizza slice which my friend had was that with steak and egg topping, it tasted great too but it's just not my type of pizza).

But I think I learned to like pizza with steak topping somehow.

Monster Meal: P 695.00
Service Charge: P 62.05

Total Bill: P 757.05

Annyeonghaseyo!

SHAMELESS PLUGGING: Follow me on Instagram. HAHAHA.
My username is ------->

Koryan post again.

We were planning our bonding for next Tuesday then suddenly we were like,
"Let's go. Now na."

And we found ourselves enjoying Korean Cuisine in this newly-opened Korean Restuarant at SM North.

They have this thing on their tables for the ease of calling the waiters. But  they were very attentive so we just had to press this once to ask for our bill.
The waiters were very friendly and courteous greeting Annyeonghaseyo as we entered. Anyaresayo too. hahaha

Healthy. Delicious. Good to Share

I think another word that can describe this restaurant is affordable.
The prices are reasonable especially because Korean cuisine is, most of the times, expensive.

If you like Korean dramas too, then play Guess that O.S.T with your friends whom you're dining with.
They have Korean songs playing in the background the entire time.
You may choose between Lemon and Strawberry for your iced tea.
Beef Bibimbap with Iced Tea
P 99.00
That's really affordable for an authentic and delicious serving of bibimbap if you ask me.
This was filling but I think that it should have more meat.

And there was no kimchi. :(
Anyhow...

There's a container of gochujang or chili paste in the table so you'll be the one to adjust the spiciness of your order. My spiciness/hotness threshold goes up when I'm eating Korean food.
Spicy Pork Dupbap with rice and drinks
P 130.00
I wasn't able to taste this though.
Mandukok
P 99.00
Mandu means dumplings while Kok (Gug) means noodles

The dumplings in this soup reminded me of Kuchai dumplings that we had in Binondo last March.
It's not bad to learn something new everyday.
This is Tempura in Japanese and it's called Twigim (튀김 = fry) in Korean.

Leek Shrimp Twigim with rice
P 130.00 (?) not sure
This reads O-SO-U-SIP-SI-YO and it means Welcome in the formal (Korean) politeness level.
Excuse the poorly-placed watermark.
They have what they call Donglyo Meals which are good for sharing.
A bundle (?) would cost you at least or at most P 100.00/person when you order one of those.
This is supposed to be our appetizer but it turned out that it was our "ender".
Starking Fire Sushi
P 160.00

They torch the sushi in front of you.
Yez, may presentation muna. hehehe.
Not your usual sushi and is available in beef, tuna and chicken.
We ordered too much food for three persons because we didn't expect the servings to be that huge since most are pegged as "budget meals". No complains here though.

My favorite line after trying out a new restaurant, "Filled our tummies but didn't empty our wallets!" is really applicable in Chef's Noodles.

We're definitely going back to try the other selections out.
My eyes are on Bulgogi Kimbap and Chef's Noodle.

Don't forget to try this out when you're in the area.

I had second thoughts whether or not I'll post this here (it took me more than two months to decide) but since a blog is a good medium in information dissemination, post ko na rin. Meron naman sigurong capable and willing to help akong readers eh, diba? :>

Again, in hopes that I can open someone's heart into sponsoring a child too, I am posting this.

Here's my story:
(Mahaba nga lang)

I can't remember if it was the last week of June or the first week of July when I browsed the internet to look for a birthday gift for myself. Then in one of the pages I stumbled upon, I came across a World Vision advertisement and found out that the needed monthly contribution is P 600.00 per child.

That night, I immediately signed up thinking na 'yun na lang 'yung gift ko for myself nang hindi man lang pinag-iisipan ng maigi kahit I'll be spending the next months contributing P 600.00 to World Vision. Ganun ako ka-impulsive eh!! Thankfully, even after trying for like three times, my JCB credit card didn't connect in PesoPay.

Because of the "wait", I had more time to think things over and prepare myself since I'll be committing in a P 600.00/month or P 7,200.00/year donation. I mean, P 600.00 is still P 600.00 and given na may mga araw na wala akong pera, it can be tough and burdensome in the long run.

But then if you do the math, if I can save P 20.00/day, it would become P 600.00/month. I'll just have control my spending more and find something that I can scrimp on so by the end of the month, I'll have a surplus money for my World Vision contribution.

I may not have a lot and I even fall short on funds on some days but I can still say that I'm blessed because I have enough most of the times.

Anyway,

Simple. I now bring my water bottle everyday to save on water expenses.

'Yung konting bigat na 'yun na nadadagdag sa bag ko because I need to save my P 20.00 daily is an okay sacrifice kung kapalit naman niyan e ang edukasyon ng isang batang gustong mag-aral at pag-save sa Earth na rin kasi nakabawas ako ng basura.

Ang hirap na may makita kang isang tao na driven at may pangarap but financially hindi siya kayang ma-suportahan.

Siguro more than anything else, 'yung motivation ko talaga for doing this is to give someone a chance. Alam mo 'yun, since I was given a second chance myself, I want to express my gratitude by sharing. I want to give back especially to someone na may gustong marating sa buhay pero nahi-hinder financially.
I want another person to feel the joy and gratefulness that I feel these days.
P 20.00/day isn't that much of a loss on my side especially because it means a change or it will become an instrument in changing someone else's life.

When I finally decided na i-push ang sponsorship, I searched and asked around for a suitable Savings Account and I found one in Eastwest Bank.
I opened that account for the sole purpose of subscribing to World Vision pero mukhang mas marami pa ata akong nakuha. HAHAHA.

Nga pala, the girl I am sponsoring is named Queenie and she's from Palawan. We haven't had the chance to talk yet dahil two months pa lang rin naman akong nagco-contribute but I'm looking forward to meet her and someday visit her in Palawan too. Who knows...

Before I end, I was reminded of the story I read years ago about a starfish and a girl...

A young girl was walking along a beach upon which thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement.

She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!”
The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied,

“Well, I made a difference to that one!”

The old man looked at the girl inquisitively and thought about what she had done and said. Inspired, he joined the little girl in throwing starfish back into the sea. Soon others joined, and all the starfish were saved. - adapted from the Star Thrower by Loren C. Eiseley Story Source link here.

I can't give money to every child who has no means to attend school but for Queenie (at sa iba pang bata kung maisipan mo rin mag-sponsor), I sure made a difference.

Interested?

If you want to help but feel that you're not capable or not ready financially, you can also offer them your time and effort by becoming a volunteer.

Now, what I'm praying for is sana ma-sustain ko 'to in the next months or better yet in the next years.

Medyo roller coaster ride man ang financial life, KAKAYANIN. :D

I got this while doing grocery because I needed a stress-reliever.

I was focused on the words MATCHA LATTE that I failed to realize that this is a milk tea.
I mean, I love both but I'd prefer them not mixed.

But this one's fine although it really tastes milder than the matcha I'm used to but I'm still seeing myself buying another box in the future.
Okay na ang P 105.00/box/10 sticks.

Where can I buy pure matcha powder in Q.C.?

At bakit nga ba ko na-stress?

Last Friday, I was drinking soy milk then I accidentally spilled the contents of the bottle on my keyboard.
Ayan, ang short circuit and the entire keyboard had to be replaced.

That's P 1,400.00 down the drain dahil lang sa carelessness ko at P 20.00 na bote ng soy milk. Huhuhu.

But every broken thing has a lesson... (pampalubag-loob)
