During our Vietnam Trip last May, the temperature in Ho Chi Minh was scorching. We figured that we won't enjoy touring around with that heat so we took an overnight bus and escaped to the mountains of Da Lat.

Vietnam 2024: GCash Card Withdrawal Rate in Ho Chi Minh via TPBank

I haven't posted any Da Lat posts before but I'm starting with this Kyoto-inspired park/cafe. One of the countless cafe options you have in Da Lat.

The entrance for this is 80,000 VND per person.

You will get overwhelmed with the cafe choices in Da Lat once you start searching in Google Maps. We had a hard time deciding which cafe to visit because there really is a lot and most of them have entrance fees. We had to decide on which one was worth our money. We visited this and another cafe which has a hydrangea flower garden and a replica of Da Nang's Golden Hand Bridge.

For us who haven't been to Kyoto, this is a good place to visit. However, if you've been to Kyoto before, it might be better for you to visit another cafe.

Cebu, Philippines: Sachiko's Little Kyoto

Aside from it being Kyoto-inspired, we wanted a relaxing place where we can feel the cool mountain breeze. Another item in itinerary was a visit to a flower garden so for this afternoon, we wanted a different theme.

It's Kyoto, my someday. HAHAHA

Snack shops area. Didn't try any.
We've just eaten lunch and dessert before coming here.

My outfit was unintentionally a Torii gate coordinated outfit.

The area was quite big but if you're pressed for time then you can probably explore the entire area within two hours. We had nowhere else we wanted to go to that day so we spend the whole afternoon wandering and taking photos.

You can buy fish pellets from the cafe. Photos get more interesting if there are lots of koi fishes in near you.

Some visitors even had professional photographers taking their photos. Btw, kimono is also available for rent.

Before leaving, we decided to grab a drink and lounge at this area.

This is a mountainous area so cabs may or may not pass when you're leaving so it's better to have an internet connection and take a grab back to the city center.

Da Lat is definitely giving Baguio vibes.

Sharing with you my experience when I availed the Tea Ceremony Class Experience in Kyoto via Klook.

Book yours here: Tea Ceremony Class Experience in Kyoto

Finding the location is easy.

You can follow the instructions on the voucher and input the address in Google Maps. We took the bus from Kyomizu-dera, btw. I forgot the bus number/ bus route but we alighted across the building.

I've been a matcha lover for more than a decade so experiencing a tea ceremony in Japan was a dream come true.

We didn't have a lot of time when we went to Kyoto so while there are three different "classes" to choose from, we only had the time for the shortest one which was the matcha making experience.

Most of the people we took the class with availed the package with Traditional Sweets Making so they were already there when we arrived. If I recall correctly, that class took 2 hours while the one we took was only about 30 minutes.

You'll join the group anyway so if you have enough time, getting the class with dessert making should be more worth the effort going here.

The teacher/ tea master explained the brief history of matcha, showed how it's stone-milled, and taught how to prepare and drink it the right way.

This is a classroom set-up so it's not a traditional tea ceremony per se but you get the gist of it.

The sweet above is called Ohigashi.

Something you're supposed to eat first before drinking matcha to add sweetness to it.

Just had to have the experience certified. HAHAHA!

You can add this option during Klook checkout if you want your certificate as well.

A traditional matcha ceremony for me. Someday. In Kyoto. Again.

While you can do this DIY, it's a lot more comfortable, efficient, and budget-friendly to join a group tour. I don't have a record of which tour package we got but the current package prices range from 2,300 PHP to 5,000 PHP per person depending on the itinerary.

Kyoto by the Sea: Amanohashidate & Ine no Funaya Bus Tour from Osaka

Amanohashidate (天橋立) means "the bridge to heaven" or "bridge to the sky". It refers to a scenic 3.6-kilometer (2.1-mile) long sandbar, covered with thousands of pine trees, that crosses Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Source: Google

From the parking, you are to walk for several minutes to get to the lower station of the Amanohasidate monorail or chairlift. Our tour included all the entrances, lunch, and chairlift ride so we didn't need to pay for anything apart from the souvenirs we bought and snacks from rest stops.

It wasn't wiggly or anything, it also wasn't too fast so you can just relax and sit until you reach the upper station.

If you find the chairlift scary, there's a monorail you can ride as well.

The sandbar is one of Japan's three most scenic views, and its unique appearance inspires the name - Bridge to Heaven/ Amanohashidate.

This observatory is atop Mt. Monju.

I tried looking many times but I was never able to imagine the flying dragon. Nonetheless, this place was the most beautiful place we visited during that trip. It felt amazing to see this natural bridge/sand bar with pine trees in person.

Hiryukan-Kairo or Viewing Sky Path

You are to climb the spiral stairs to get to the Sky Path that resembles a dragon soaring through the sky.

Amanohashidate View Land

Visit this website to view all the facilities in this place.

Bending over and looking at the sandbar upside down between your legs makes the sandbar look like a dragon flying to the sky, which is also called "Hiryukan" (flying dragon view).

You can also try this pottery throwing. It is said that if you successfully throw the pottery through the ring,
your wish to avoid calamities and evil will be granted.

Unless you decide on spending a night or a few days in the area, traveling to Amanohashidate is definitely much more comfortable with a day tour package like this.

Manifesting our next Japan trip in Sachiko's Little Kyoto. HAHAHA!

AUGUST 2023 EDIT:

TOKYO, JAPAN TRIP CAME INTO FRUITION. 🤩

So basically, this is a Japan-themed food park. There are food booths once you ascend the Tori gate stairs. We just didn't have enough time to try their food.

Entrance Fee: 100 PHP

Book your adventure with KKday: Cebu Mountain Tour: Sirao Flower Garden, Tops Lookout & Temple of Leah with Hotel Transfer

We enjoyed roaming around Sachiko's. It really has a Japan vibe. Crazy how we're trying to find traces of Japan here in the Philippines since our cancelled trip in March 2020. Nyahahaha. Sheket yarn. 😭😭😂😂

ANONA, Tokyo.
Hinihintay pa rin ako ni Hachiko. :))

Upper left of the photo above are tables and chairs where you can sit at once you've ordered food from the booth.

Before reaching the Geisha Paintings, you'll pass by the food booths. I didn't pay attention to the food offers since it was awkward to look when we obviously had no intention to buy. hahaha

There are signages with explanation in each area of this park so you sort of learn about the culture and history of Japan... of course, if you take time reading those... which I didn't. Sarreh na.

If you've been here before, I like visiting different Buddhist Temples. I realized that I haven't posted a lot from my previous travels and I'm kinda thinking of posting some in the next few days while knowing that a lot has probably changed since me visiting those places. HAHAHA. Nasaan kasi napunta 'yung oras ng 2020 - 2022? Hindi talaga ko nag-update. Haaay.

Hanami (Cherry Blossom Viewing) in Fukuoka, Japan link: here.

Mountain View

It's kinda like the Rizal of Cebu.

Maneki-Neko

Can't skip taking photos with this since it's believed that this brings luck.
