Backpacking Day 3: Universal Studios Singapore and Sentosa Island

"Where is Sentosa Island?"
"How to go to Resort's World Sentosa/ Universal Studios Singapore?"
"How many hours would it take to completely tour Universal Studios and Sentosa Island?"
"Why do I feel so lost?"

Yan, yan, yan. Naturingang nagb-blog, hindi marunong mag-blog hop ng maayos.  Nag-research naman ako beforehand but everything was not enough. hahahahaha! I also realized that I can't always rely on my instinct especially in an unfamiliar place. But challenge me, life. Isa pang ganito, hindi na ko magiging lost kid! :))) The next time I go out of the country or just anywhere, I'll do a thorough research before going na. If you've asked the questions above before going there, you're on the right track. Congrats!!

After being lost, being disappointed of the so close yet so far Marina Bay Sands link: here. We travelled to Vivo City Shopping Mall to get to Universal Studios Singapore/ Sentosa, the Asia's Favorite Playground.

Marina Bay (NS27), ride to Dhoby Ghaut Station (NS24), transfer to DG's other line (NE6), alight at Harbour Front (NE1) where Vivo City is located.

From the Level 3 of Vivo City, you can find Sentosa Express or that monorail that would take you to Universal Studios/Sentosa Island
I forgot how much I paid for this pass but it's less than s$5.00.
I didn't know that Universal Studios is only a part of Resort's World Sentosa kaya pala when my friend was talking to her friend and nalaman nung friend na medyo half day lang kami dito, sinabihan siyang "Good luck." hahahaha. The cost of ignorance. :)))) Spending 5 hours here won't be enough, kailangan whole day talaga. Even two to three days if you plan on going to other attractions of Sentosa Island such as S.E.A Aquaruim, Adventure Cove Waterpark, Dolphin Island (interactive 'to, I think you'll swim with the dolphins or something). Meron pa nga silang sky diving simulation, butterfly garden at kung anuano pang hindi namin nakita. Pero ano naman diba, this is just the first part of my Singapore journey. I'm coming back for your other attractions, SG.
Train and cable car rides in Singapore
View from the train ride.
Those are cable cars, another way to get to USS, for s$29.00. I think it travels farther and not just from Vivo City to Sentosa.
Emote, emote din while hoping/wishing that it won't rain again.
Somewhere in Imbia Station. We didn't have the luxury of time to roam around this stop. Hanggang tingin lang, but someday.
These beaches are man-made.

After roaming around for a while here, we went back to the train and rode to Waterfront station. USS na!!
Someday ka sa'kin, Sentosa Play Pass.

More information about Sentosa Play Pass link: here.

Obligatory turista shot at Universal Studios' Globe.
Someday. Obligatory pictures at other Universal Studios. Someday.
The feels when I saw the roller coaster ride. Ermerghed!!

But when I asked, "What time will this open?" thinking that it only closed because of the rain.
"It was closed down since last year." Shems, such a bummer this roller coaster!
So as not to miss any attraction inside USS, make sure to grab your own copy of USS map near the entrance.

USS is divided into 7 themes which are The Lost World, Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi City, New York, Hollywood, Madagascar, and Far Far Away.
"New York Public Library"

Also, although there are less people going there on a weekday, I think it'd be best to visit Universal Studios on a Saturday or Sunday because there are more street shows/attractions on a weekend. Mas feel mong nasa Universal Studios ka. Wednesday kami nagpunta kaya parang medyo malungkot.

The best for me.
Pakitalian nga 'yang nawawalang bata na 'yan.

Far Far Away's Castle
Manyak Dinosaur from The Lost World, I Think.

To our dismay, Waterworld  was also closed that day. Should I really go back USS? Lahat na lang close! hahaha.
Someone from the Ancient Egypt.
Napapagod din ang mga turista! We also need to rest, you know. Feel na feel ko lang na tourist ako, noh. hahaha.
We went back to the entrance to get our food and retail coupon.
Minion in USS
Passed by a minion.
And this?? Wala na ko masyadong alam na cartoon character.
MOWDEL?!
We just entered the nearest diner which was Hollywood's Mel's Drive-In.
This is priced at s$12 but because of our s$10 food coupon, our s$2 meal. Yan.
Double cheeseburger with fries.
Interior of Mel's Drive-In
Palit outfit for Marina Bay Sands and Merlion.
Last stop.
Hershey's Store where I bought s$10.00 worth of chocolate. Tanggal din 'yan sa whole day budget ko dapat kasi pasalubong na naman.

So this was our 5-hour USS adventure, I really wish that we had more time and stayed longer but more than that regret, I'm thankful that I was able to go there.

We rode the Sentosa Express again and traveled back to Marina Bay Sands/ Marina Bay Shoppes.

  1. Getting lost in a foreign country is a part of adventure. Just go with the flow and don't stress yourself out. I wish we can also go to Singapore next year and visit our friend there.
