My brother has always been telling me to try Mr.Kimbob's bibimbap at SM North food court. I haven't had the chance to eat there until December last year at SM Megamall and I enjoyed it so much although I don't like eating spicy foods. As we strolled around SM Makati yesterday, only one food for dinner came to mind: Bibimbap.

For those who are unfamiliar with Korean cuisine, bibimbap means "mixed rice." Following its name, the proper way to eat it is to mix all the meat, vegetables, rice and gochujang (chili sauce) together.

Here is bulgogi (beef) with carrots, papaya, spinach, bean sprouts, cabbage and sunny side-up egg, served in a sizzling plate with  a bowl of soup.

After mixing everything together but haven't poured the gochujang yet. I ended up pouring everything on mine! I  don't really like eating spicy foods but this has always been an exception.
If you're up for a healthy and budget-friendly meal, bibimbap is one of the best choices. For 95 pesos, you get a big serving of food and nutrients.

This bibimbap is the store's bestseller, of course, they have other foods to offer just that I haven't tasted them yet.

You can find Mr.Kimbob at SM Malls' foodcourts.

Our Avilon Zoo trip ended early as expected so we headed to Wawa Dam before going home.

Placed between Montalban Gorge, Wawa dam used to be the only water source for Manila. Although it isn't functioning as a dam anymore, it has still turned into one of the must-see places especially if you're up for a nature tripping that's not too far away from the city.

I was a bit disappointed seeing that there are lots of garbage in the area. The locals and local government should take the initiative to do clean-ups once in a while. Although the view is magnificent, a clean surrounding is what lures the tourists to come back, who would want to swim in a reservoir filled with garbage? Nonetheless, leaving those trash issues aside, the place is really a beauty.

Start of our trekking. Yay!

Look at how huge those rocks are.
Luckily, we went there on a day when the water  was somewhat raging. I can just imagine my added disappointment if we arrived there with the water almost dried-up.

There are cottages for lease.
The one on the left side of this picture used to be the watch tower.

Now on our way back to the lower lake.

Boulders of rocks,, limestone mountains? CHECKED.

I'd love to comeback for a cave tour and be brave enough to walk between the big rocks.
I hope that the only changes the place undergo are that of natural causes.

Avilon means "the land of the birds," no wonder there lots of birds compared to other species in that zoo.

If you want a guided tour, there are tour guides near the entrance. Although we opted to not have one, there were instances when we passed by them and they seem friendly and are really well informed about all the species. If you'll decide to explore the area by yourselves, the zoo is very much organized; there were informations near the cages, names for every animals and they were grouped according to their characteristics... family? genus? *I already forgot my taxonomy terms!*

Another photo heavy post...

All the places are labeled making it easier even for first-timers to familiarize themselves in the zoo.

There are arapaimas in that man-made pond. They were slightly scary to be honest.
Arapaimas are large tropical freshwater fishes. They can grow over 6 feet!

First time seeing live kangaroo!
This is a tree kangaroo. *Lol, sorry I didn't know its pose was like that.*

180 degrees head turn.
Meercat

and?

These bears are the newest zoo attraction. Almost all of them were taking their nap.

When we were about to leave this exhibit... one bird was like, "Panget!" we went back trying to find which  that was but it didn't want to blow its cover. Tsk

This amphibian (I forgot most of their names) was dancing near the window when we passed by.

The monkey wasn't there but managed to take pictures with the birds and a snake. Cost us P 100.00

Finished exploring in two hours.
And have I told you that the whole zoo is really well-maintained?

Time to bid goodbye...

Why is it that nowadays, we always feel like there's a need for a round two or better yet, three for every gala?

If you're on a tight budget but wants to eat at an Eat-All-You can resto, look no further, and try this place out.

The price is P 205.00 per person.

These are just some of the foods that are available for eating.
Meals with soups, rice, dimsum, sushi and desserts.
The food tastes good and I especially loved their watermelon. It has been so long since I've eaten watermelon that sweet.

The place is filled on most days so if you don't like the hassle of waiting, better go there earlier.
It is located at 65 Timog St. near Tomas Morato, Quezon City

I'm loving milk teas too much. As in too much! I'm always on the look out for milk tea cafes these days. And thus, here's another discovery - Teatap Cafe at San Juan.

I posted this picture first 'cause this tip bin caught my attention. You are to place a coin and then a cat would  peek and grab it after. So cute, right?

I ordered Earl Grey Milk Tea for a change from my usual Pearl Milk Tea, (I'm not adventurous!) and it tastes good and creamy. I liked that I can still taste its slight bitterness. Perhaps because I set the sweetness level to 50%. I really need to remind myself to reduce the sugar level on all my milk tea orders in the future.
There are different quotes on each drink plastic covering. It's quite hilarious that I got this on my first try of giving pudding a chance and I'm not disappointed. I loved it, oh, I'm foreseeing an added order of sinkers on my next visit.

Takoyaki , 100.00
There are several menu items... pasta, buffalo wings etc.
There is also a yogurt counter called, "Simply Life"
Out of all the milk tea cafes I've visited, this has got to be the largest, coziest and has the cutest interior. It gives a "starbucks" feel where you can just sit on the tables and chat with friends. I'd love to come back if only it was a bit nearer at our place. tsk
