Macau Beyond Casinos 2018

Travel Guide link: here.

We had a difficult time choosing our accommodation in Macau 'cause even if there are a lot of hotels there, not all are budget-friendly.

We eventually chose Inn Hotel Macau in Taipa which we booked from Agoda. Accommodations are usually pricey in Macau and it's something that we failed to take into consideration since we got busy planning our itinerary. There are still cheaper ones that are located in the Old Macau City but we opted to stay here in Taipa so the location is strategic as well. While paying 4,500 PHP+ per night for two persons was beyond our budget especially since we stayed for four nights, we still feel that we got the best of our money's worth with Inn Hotel Macau.

This hotel is only three bus stops away from Aeroporto De Macau/ Macau International Airport. Make sure to get  a screenshot of where this is located especially during on your first day.

Check in was a breeze. We informed them thru Facebook that we are to arrive at around 10PM - 11PM so they were expecting us already. You'll be asked to pay a refundable 500 MOP deposit once you check-in so be prepared for that.

We were hungry when we arrived in Macau but we chose to check-in first and just look for food after. The convenience store inside the hotel was already closed but there are a lot of stores outside even if that was already very late in the evening, there's even a 24 hours supermarket/grocery nearby.

BELOW ARE PHOTOS FROM OUR ROOM:

They cleaned our room daily; threw the garbage; restocked water bottles and toiletries; and changed the towels. Thumbs up to that 'cause nothing is better than going back to a clean and tidy hotel room after a long day.

This is the recent addition to the freebies of Inn Hotel Macau.

They have a phone with fast and reliable internet connection that you may use while checked-in. While this phone doesn't have a hotspot to connect other devices, it has an app that erases all the data when you're done using it so logging in accounts felt safe and secure.

Our room was spacious and felt elegant. We had two windows, one is facing the mountains and one is facing Taipa.

Comfy beds! <3

While you only have three options for the main meals in the restaurant, salad and bread are unlimited. I was able to eat all three and my favorite was the soy sauce noodles. Food in Macau can get quite expensive so having breakfast/brunch before you leave the hotel is already a way to lessen expenses.

We were also given this complimentary coupon that we used in their sister hotel which is the Emperor Palace in Macau Peninsula. I got a sweet and sour pork meal that costs 55 MOP for free.

From Emperor Palace, going back the Inn Hotel wasn't a problem since they offer free shuttle service back and forth. And if you're from other areas in Macau, there's a nearby bus stop there so commuting isn't a problem.

Even if we first thought that staying in Inn Hotel Macau was expensive since we don't allot big budget for accommodations, the freebies they offer have actually enabled us to save more.

P.S. If you're buying souvenirs such as jerky and/or Macau pastries, don't buy at the casino hotels. The stores in Taipa which is located across this hotel has cheaper price for the same items.

The Garden of Morning Calm is almost an hour away from Petite France and the last item in my itinerary for Gapyeong. I knew that  there's a light show here at night but I wasn't able to wait for it.

Upon buying the ticket, the lady immediately told us that there are a lot places here that I can't enter since the snow are melting and some areas are slippery.

I still had a great time walking around here though but it was definitely not as colorful as I thought it'd be. Weird timing kasi. Patapos na 'yung winter pero hindi pa fall.

Weather wise it's was perfect 'cause it wasn't that hot yet not too cold so walking around was easy but since I'm looking forward to seeing foliage, medyo sad. haha!

However, overlooking places are enough to soothe my heart. haha!

I love this area.

Before my three years multiple entry visa expires, I want to take the same photo during different seasons. Spring and Autumn naman!

This frozen pond is a shooting location of Love in the Moonlight it just looks a lot different during winter time.

This looked like a very beautiful walkway leading to the forest/tall trees but entry was prohibited that time. Haaay

Still a great place for people who love visiting botanical gardens though as you can still distinguish the different kind of trees especially those that are evergreen.

Juniper tree <3

According to Visit Korea's website,

The garden houses about 5,000 kinds of plants, including 300 varieties native to Baekdusan Mountain, known as a spiritual mountain to the Korean people. Flowers are in bloom from March to November, so the garden is usually busy during this period. In addition to the beautiful foliage of the garden, there are a variety of festivals and displays held throughout the year.
* Spring: Spring Garden Festival * Summer: Festival of Roses, Hydrangeas and Roses of Sharon * Autumn: Festival of Chrysanthemums and Autumnal Tints * Winter: Lighting Festival

SPRING, SUMMER, AND AUTUMN!!!

First time seeing a weeping tree in person.

But the surprise for that time, I know that Park Bo Gum has a scene here when he was shooting Love in the Moonlight but I didn't know that my baby Park Seo Joon's "She Was Pretty" has a scene that was shot here too. Pwede na!! hehehe

It wasn't a long drive from Gapyeong Wharf (Nami Island) to get here in Petite France.

While the main attractions in Nami are the trees lined street, Petite France has houses that European styled. There are also a lot of Little Prince references here aside from the tarpaulins and cutouts of the Korean dramas that were shot here before.

It's not a big place but walking may be hard for some 'cause of the uphill. Although there's not a lot of things to see here other than houses, talk to a Kdrama fan and going here is seriously crossing an item in our bucketlist.

Although I would also love to see this place during a different season, I think one visit is enough for this Europe Style Themed Park.

I wonder,” he said, “whether the stars are set alight in heaven so that one day each one of us may find his own again... "

Someday, EU! <3

Frozen body of water yet again.

I enjoyed my time looking at the view though. It's overlooking a dam and mountain range. <3

“But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world.”

Model ng adidas si ate girl.

Ilan pa ba bago 'yung totoo? :))

Dito rin 'yung unang figh scene ni Gil Ra Im sa Secret Garden.

Do Manager and Choi Seong Yi's first kiss was shot in Petite France.

^Karamihan ng picture ko sa Korea, ganyan. HAHAHA! Lagi ko kasi inaayos 'yung hoodie tapos lagi din caught in the act.

The pictures above kind of show the entire Petite France park, you just have to look for a good picture spot. There wasn't a lot of things to do other than walking and taking photographs... (and hoping that you'd get to experience the real France firsthand someday)
