Donya Levita offers Filipino food at The Station.

We were able to taste this sisig and their cheesy tahong/tahong with cheese which I loved so much.

My alcoholic self would advice you to get yourself a beer and eat this very delicious sisig from Dona Levita but I don't have an alcoholic self so my social drinker self would just advice you to get rice to pair this with. Char. :))) Sarap kasi i-ulam! :))

It's usual for me to order sisig anywhere though so what I said above is not surprising. This one's new though, baked tahong. For given the two options, I'd usually go for sisig. But it's kind of different with this food stall 'cause I found myself reaching out for this Baked Tahong more. It's perfectly baked that you'd not taste the "lasang dagat" (if this explains it) with perfect amount of cheese in each.

One of the Pension Houses you may stay at in Puerto Princesa is Balay Inato Pension House. We stayed here for two nights.

Aside from the complementary breakfast meal, they offer free pickup and drop-off at the airport. Having the free shuttle is so convenient!
I've slept a lot in other places but it was my first time to be alone.

Aside from the rooms, they also offer tour packages and van rentals.

You'll also have free wifi connection, television, drinking water, hot and cold shower, towels, tissue, soap and shampoo.
Qt dog at the reception area.
The available rooms.
Haim Chicken Inato for dinner.

While there are a lot of homegrown restaurants in Palawan, you may try Haim Chicken Inato as well especially since it's in the Balay Inato compound.

Delicious chicken inato just a few steps from your room.

Because I found out that not all Gerry's Grill branches offer these Merienda Meals, iinggitin na lang kita. Hahaha. Uy oh, once upon a time, naka-kain kami ng merienda with drinks sa Gerry's for only P 99.00. So what are you waiting for?! Magiging ala carte na 'to in 3, 2... haha. Lakas maka-home shopping.

But in all seriousness, thanks to this budget meal that even if we were trying to reduce food expenses, we were able to skip eating in a fast food chain.

When they say that theirs is one of the best Pansit Palabok, they're not kidding. I really liked their version of Pancit Palabok  with a stick of chicken kebab, buttered bread, and a glass of iced tea... all for P 99.00 inclusive of tax and service charge. Hahahaha. Pero since hindi lahat ng branches e may ganito, good luck. Tara, fast food na lang ulit. :))

Binabalik-balikan? WOW! Di nga? Big words! hehehe.

But upon having my first bite, the crispiness of the skin and the tenderness of the meat proved the waiter's claim right. We all agreed that ordering this piggy-tarian specialty was worth the added body fats. OA. Mataba naman na talaga. :))

KKK's version of Ilokanong Bagnet is, so far, the best tasting Bagnet I have had. Yes, even better than the one I had in Ilocos.

I've been seeing this restaurant for years now since this is in front of the Korean Eat-All-You-Can Restaurant that we used to frequent, Don-Day.

HAHAHA. K. Fine. As if may pagkakaiba e hindi pa rin naman ako maayos mag-describe.
SISIG

This was my order but it was the one I liked the least because it was too spicy and too oily (for me).
The mango bits in the rice made this meal more interesting.
Nakakasuya pag medyo marami ka ng nakain but still better than sisig.
Bagnet Kare-Kare

This was my sister's meal but this is the one I liked best.

The bagnet (it was more like lechon kawali actually) was fried just right that it's skin was crunchy yet the meat was still tender. Although it's not as flavorful on its own, mixing it with the Kare-Kare sauce made it taste a whole lot better - complementing ganyan. I think that it was better that way so as it won't overpower the taste of the Kare-kare sauce. If this actually made sense. :))

One jeepney ride away from Katipunan-Aurora Fly-over. Pa-Montalban ata.

Hehe. Kung maghahanap ka lang, makikita mo.... :))

I enjoyed dining here in Kanto because the food tasted great, the price was affordable and the place felt like you can be yourself. Hihihi. Example lang. ;)

Diba.
May improvement ako?

I tried taking a picture of their menu. It's the thought that counts.

IKR!! Galing ko talaga, noh? You're welcome.
If you're going to look at it, kainan sa kanto talaga 'yung itsura pero 'yung quality ng food? Ibang usapan na 'yon.

Yayamanin! Hehe.
Vigan Longganisa
P 95.00

Another thing that I liked was that they didn't scrimp on the quantity of the food.

(Speaking of Vigan. Congrats, Vigan for being a part of the 7 New Wonders Cities. Uyyyy, may magbabalik. <3 ILOCOS SUR AND ILOCOS NORTE SAMPLE ITINERARY LINK: HERE. Haha.)
Oreo Cookie Butter
P 95.00

I've eaten a lot of Vigan longganisa before that it just tasted normal to me so this pancake was the star of that meal. The Oreo Cookie Butter wasn't overly sweet, I think this was a really good idea. Halaaa. Hirap na hirap ako magpaliwanag pls. Basta, nagustuhan ko 'to. Period.
Kesong Puti with Pesto
P 20.00
I will definitely be back, Kanto Breakfast.

Meron silang branches sa Eastwood saka sa Shaw ata 'yung isa.

We ate our dinner in Baguio after climbing Mt. Pulag. We opted to try something new so we hired a cab and went to Ketchup Food Community in Romulo Drive near The Mansion, Wright Park and Botanical Gardens (link: here.)

It's called a food community since it's like a compound with different restaurants. These are all home-grown food concepts which makes it more interesting to visit. Wala sa Manila nyan! :)

Wherever you choose to stay, you can still ask for menus and order from other restaurants.
We didn't get to try other restaurants though since we only had roughly two hours to eat 'cause we had to catch our bus back to Manila after.
Their set meals cost P 158.00 with drinks.
Chopsuey with Bagnet

This wasn't my order but this is the one I liked best. Forever bet ng gulay sa Baguio and the bagnet on top is just the right quantity to balance the vegetables and meat.
Their sisig albeit having too many onions is also good. Bagnet ginamit nila.
This was my order.
Bagnet. As in Bagnet lang. HAHAHA. I figured it's not okay to order this at night because the weather is cold and the oil solidifies fast.

Sobrang okay din naman nito (taste, quantity and price) but for more variation and for a healthier me hahaha, I'd go with Bagnet with Chopsuey talaga. :)

HAAYYY. NAIRAOS DIN!!!! <3

The mountains are calling. I must go.

None of all the times I have packed and unpacked has prepared me to the pack of my life that is Mt. Pulag climb. 'Yung totoo talaga, pwede naman sana nag-impake ako the night before, noh?? hehe.

*1 down/bubble jacket, 1 black hoodie, my BB jacket, 1 long sleeves, 3 shirts, 1 sarong, 1 jogging pants, 1 leggings, 1 rain coat, 2 pair of socks, 2 bonnets, 2 pair of gloves etc.

*3L of water was more than enough. There are two water sources in Mt. Pulag so if you're not sensitive, 1.5L is enough and you can just refill your bottle from the water source.

*Don't forget to bring wet wipes because it is more important and useful than soap while in the mountain.

*Head light for your night trek. It is a lot better to trek to the summit handsfree.

*Hindi uso ang change outfit sa Mt. Pulag. Ang mas uso dun? Patong outfit. hehehehe.

*Bring your lakas ng loob.

Pulag? Yes. So you will be able to sleep better. Freezing nights eh. Pero may dala ba kami? Wala. Matibay. HAHAHAHA. My friend gave me that (fleece) blanket and it was my savior. (Mishu, bebe. Gamit ko 'yung kumot na binigay mo. Hahahaha! Kumo-commercial.) I made it through the night with just that, sarong, 4 layers of clothing, 2 layers of socks, gloves, bonnet and prayers. :))
While we were waiting for the bus, my friend gave me these candies and told me to eat one if I'd feel like giving up during the ascend.

Because the candies said so, we knew we could do it!
Tarlac Stop-Over

I was reminded of our stop-over in Singapore when I went down the bus. Grabe.  I always appreciate bus rides and stop-overs at night. It's a pleasant feeling for me whenever I sleep on a bus on a way to someplace. Weird. Hahaha
We reached Baguio.
Sabi ko na, Baguio eh. Pakiramdam ko talaga babalik ako at babalik ako ulit next year. :)

Baguio City Itinerary link: here.
We arrived at around 3:30 AM and the temperature that time was 12 degrees. Good thing there was a strawberry taho vendor and it was through his taho we somehow felt warm.
This monster jeep took us to Kabayan, Benguet. It's not called monster jeep for nothing. Hari ng kalsada talaga.
Ambuklao Dam before sunrise
I don't know where we ate breakfast but the place seemed famous to climbers. Almost all people there were also about to hike.

The rice they have is the same variant I had in Cafe by the Ruins.

I searched online and one thing I found out about this Mountain Sticky Violet rice is that it is rare and is highly prized sticky rice grown in the region of Northern Luzon.
The view from the eatery.

It's like the mountains casted a spell on me. <3 Sobrang ganda.
After having breakfast, we went to DENR office to register and to be oriented.
We were shown a 20-minutes video presentation about Pulag and about the things we should do and not do while hiking.

I've also learned that there are three trails to the summit: 1. Ambangeg, our trail which is also the easiest. 2. Akiki 3. Trail passing through the lakes in the park.

Shemsssss! Ito na talaga 'yun.

Wala ng atrasan!!!! :))))))

P.S. If for you'd feel like you have not brought enough, there are stores selling bonnets, jackets, etc. outside DENR.

Maginhawa Street in Teacher's village is already a well-known street to foodies and students but it has now elevated its status from Quezon City's delicious secret to Quezon City food street. During the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Quezon City last Saturday, the said street celebrated the very first Food Festival which caught the attention of many and thus, Maginhawa Street became more popular that a lot of people have been wanting to visit and take a look of all the affordable hole-in-the-wall restaurants in the area.
This is the from Jeepney Restaurant extension somewhere along Maginhawa.
They also have board games (tables) to be enjoyed by bored people. K. Hahaha.

Our orders were these Pork BBQ sticks which I liked. The meat  was grilled just right and the taste was okay. hahahaha.
Chicken BBQ
I think they chopped it this way to be eaten easily but I like my chicken not chopped. Also, I liked the pork BBQ more.

More than these budget meals, I think Jeepney is more famous as a boodle fight restaurant (DUH nasa pangalan na nga. Hahahaha.) Basta, you'd see a lot of customers who prefer to boodle fight that to eat this way.

SAYA FACTOR:
8/10
Bow. Wag na intindihin plez. :)))

Medyo maraming restaurants pala all around Philippines ang may ganitong konsepto. I've seen restaurants with similar concept in Pampanga, Laguna, Bulacan and here in Quezon. This is only a few blocks away from Kamayan sa Palaisdaan where we ate our lunch two years ago. Link: here.

Mas maaliwalas tignan 'tong Palaisdaan Restaurant kasi konti lang 'yung surrounding trees. Unlike 'yung isa na shaded karamihan nung huts.
Mawawala ba naman ang falls.

Be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it.
There you go.
A photo essay of Palaisdaan Restaurant.
Service: May tinawag kaming waiter to ask for vinegar and soy sauce since we were eating grilled foods. Sabi niya, "Sandali lang po Mam." Hanggang sa hindi na siya bumalik. Tsktsk.
