Gundam Factory in Yokohama is closing on March 31, 2024. Quite a sad news for Gundam fans who are looking forward to visiting this place but there are still a lot of Gundam around Japan. I knew there's one in Fukuoka and one in Odaiba although I haven't seen both.

When we went to Yokohama, we purchased Tokyu Line Pass 'cause we wanted to visit Setagaya as well.

Japan Travel Sim? Purchase yours here.

Klook Link: Purchase Tokyu Line 1-Day Pass here.
This can be used going to Yokohama. It's cheaper than availing a per way ticket plus we were able to visit Gotokuji Temple on the same day since Setagaya Line is a part of this pass.

Before going to Gundam Factory, I advise that you first check the show schedule and work your way around it.

This is the schedule when we went there.

I felt that we weren't able to maximize our stay because of time constraints but it was better than nothing. We really wanted the Make Your Own Cup Noodles so we had to compromise.

You can purchase ticket onsite but there are discounted tickets via Klook.

I don't know anything about Gundam aside from how it looks so walking around this gallery and reading the information was quite nice to get at least a preview, you know. Since it was summer, this airconditioned area was a savior as well.

HAHAHA

Gundam Factory, Yokohama

Looking at the photos now and how that area was cloudless, I'd really have to applaud ourselves who braved the heat of a Japan travel during summer. It was insane.

I wore that long sleeves on top of a cotton sleeveless top thinking that it should feel fresher and more comfortable since I'd have the sleeves to protect me from sunlight but nah, it wasn't the best idea 'cause the cloth of that polo shirt was quite thick and not breathable at all.

Aside from the viewing area, there's a cafe/restaurant inside but there were too many people that time so we didn't enter. There's also a store selling several Gundam items but we didn't enter there as well since we weren't buying anything. However, a friend told me that there are Gundam Factory exclusive Gundams that you can buy there.

Prices are different if you want to access those ledges and view the Gundam up close.

We opted to stay and sit at the shaded staircase during the show because it was so hot. The water they spread on the floor and the mist are needed to survive Japan summer. No wonder there are temporary fountains, water mists, and the like in most places. Two misted places that I found remarkable because they were like our saviors (lol) were the ones in Hie Shine and those in the waiting sheds of Ginza.

It was breathtaking to see this big robot in motion. Can't help but imagine how a Gundam fan would feel seeing this in person because I, who didn't have an idea, felt so amazed.

That Yokohama Tower offers a viewing area to travelers as well. We just didn't have enough time for it.

Rode this bus that took us to the red brick building. From there, we had to walk quite a bit to get back to the Nissin Noodle Factory which I'll be posting soon.

Seabank and Go Tyme Review

Nilagay ko 'yon dito almost ten years ago and thanks, everyone, for continuously accessing them but we now have better options if we're talking about the interest that our money will gain while deposited. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to keep the two bank accounts that I wrote about before and stuck with BDO because there is a branch a few blocks away from home making it the most convenient Traditional bank for me at the moment.

Anyway, let me introduce to you two Digital Banks here in the Philippines that I am familiar with and currently using. I'd like to share what I think about them and my reasons for using them. These are additional banks that I use and I find each more suited to my needs and wants for a digital bank.

Seabank and Go Tyme Bank

*Parehong mataas 'yung interest rate. 4.50% P.A para sa Seabank at 5% P.A naman para sa GoTyme. Mataas na 'to kaya sabi ng iba, "SCAM! Kasi good to be true." pero fortunately, hindi 'to scam. These banks are both insured by the PDIC and regulated by BSP.

Compared to the earnings of the Money Market Fund that I held for six months last year (looked at this again and realized that the fund yield was higher 🤣) and the Time Deposit Interest rates that I know of, the rates of these digital banks are competitive and higher, actually. There are other digital banks in the Philippines but I'm only familiar with these two so far.

Let's start with Seabank.

Alam mo 'yon, kumita muna habang naghihintay.

5,000 for the entire month
.26 - interest
.05 - tax witheld

5,000 earned .21 for a month, that's 3.12 for a year.

Purchase your CVV Sticker here.

Ngayon, with better options, 'yung P 2,000.00 mo ay magkakaroon na ng interest na P 72.00 per year. Naka-keep up ba 'to sa inflation rate? Hmm... 😏😀😂  By the way, traditional banks have their advantages and I still recommend maintaining accounts with them but this is not a post to talk about that.

Nga pala, kung gusto mo magbukas ng account, you can use my code: MG432984. You can deposit P 1,000 which you'd have to keep for three days and you'll receive a bonus interest of P 50.00. Not bad. Again, my code is: MG432984. Once you've signed up, you'll also receive a referral code which you can share with other people as well.

Go Tyme Bank

This is my newest, as in kahapon lang nagawa so apart from my reasons why and initial observation, medyo hindi pa ko familiar with this. Kaya okay din na 'yung group nito sa Facebook is very active (nag basa ako last night) in responding to queries and giving suggestions 'cause digital banks are fairly new and can get confusing, right?

So why?

1. May ATM card - Visa. Meaning you can use the card to withdraw or pay using it in all Visa terminals not only in the Philippines but around the world. At madali lang kunin, nag sign up ako through the app at na print 'yung card in less than 10 minutes.

2. Pwede siyang e-wallet and you can use the app to pay. Scan mo lang 'yung QRPh para makabayad.

3. MAY POINTS. I wish I knew sooner that the points are convertible to cash edi sana last year pa talaga ko nag open. HAHAHA. 😂

4. 'Yung account mo rito, there's My Account and there's Go Save. The money deposited in My Account doesn't have interest. Kung sa mas familiar, think of it as Gcash or an e-wallet - same function. 'Yung laman nung wallet ay 'yung available funds mo.

Ngayon, para doon sa 5% P.A interest e kailangan mo mag open ng Go Save kung saan mo ililipat 'yung pera para mag simula siya makakuha ng interest.

Pwede kang mag bukas ng 5 GoSave accounts at pwede ka mag set doon ng target savings mo at target date para sa goal mo. Nice, noh? Walang holding period, walang transaction fee, pwede mo ilipat-lipat among your different Go Save accounts and between your Go Save and My Account.

5. Nung nag post ako dati kung paano kumuha ng Yen sa Narita Airport, gamit ko doon ay 'yung Mastercard Prepaid Card na galing sa PsBank (been using this since 2018) at tingin ko 'yung bayad na 500 Yen para sa withdrawal fee was acceptable pero nung nakakuha na ako at nakabasa ko ng ibang posts nung mga nakasubok na mag withdraw abroad, I learned that there's no International withdrawal charge for this card even for Japan and South Korea. 'Yung 711 machine lang ang may charge so that's gonna be 220 Yen per withdrawal. NANI?! HAHAHAHA. I've learned about this bank in October when I was reading about Hong Kong tips and they were saying the same thing. Wala nga raw withdrawal charge pero hindi ko pinansin masyado 'yung benefits 'cause I have a Prepaid Card that I use abroad at hindi naman ako lagi nagwi-withdraw at laging nasa abroad kaya hindi na ko nagpagawa kung ito lang 'yung purpose.

Tokyo, Japan: Arrival in Narita Airport (Sim, Where to Withdraw, Skytrain to UENO)

A few months later, meron na nga ko and it's a good thing that I opened this impulsively. I read about this digital bank more and I'm satisfied with it. Walang maintaining balance, madali lang mag deposit at mag withdraw sa partner establishments pati transfer, walang bayad 'yung ATM card, walang bayad 'yung three transfers every week, at mataas 'yung interest rate.

6. Para mag deposit and withdrawal, kinuha ko lang 'to sa website nila: Deposit for FREE in any of our partner Robinsons Retail merchants! Find a branch of these stores nearest you via the GoTyme Bank app. You may also deposit to your GoTyme Bank account by moving money from your other bank accounts via PESONet and Instapay.

Purchase your CVV Sticker here.

Update ko na lang soon. If you have questions or corrections, you can comment below.

Again, like what I've always hoped for and have written in my past finance posts, my prayers and wish para sa'tin is a comfortable life - may kasamang pera na siksik, liglig, at umaapaw. hehe

Just wanted to share a "discovery" I had last November when we went to Hong Kong. So I've been drinking green tea and matcha for as long as I can remember. I loved dining in Genki Sushi because of their complimentary "unilimited matcha powder" but I never took the time to research about it. All along, I thought that since it's powdered then it should be a lower class matcha powder.

Take note that this might be a common knowledge to some but this was news to me last year.

Genki Sushi, UPTC

Japan 2019: Uobei Sushi in Yodobashi Hakata, Fukuoka (I think this is closed already.)

This is the one I'm talking about. I looked it up and according to their website, it's definitely green tea powder from Kagoshima.

Anyway,

I felt so dehydrated during our summer Japan trip and that cold green tea felt like a savior every night.

This became our favorite dinner place when we went to Japan last year. Notice the cold service green tea pitcher that was far from where I was seated. I kept refilling during the meal until the server noticed that I stood up quite a couple of times so he then placed the refilled pitcher in front of me.

It has always been placed in front of me during the next nights. Arigatou! HAHAHAHA. Nakakahiya ng slight. HAHAHAHA

Personally, I find it mild but for my friend who doesn't like drinking teas, she told me that it's a bit potent for me to call it mild. Idk 🙊🙊

During the nights that we dined it there, I always found myself wondering what it was then somehow concluded that it's cold-brewed green tea because I was unaware of the existence of green tea powders.

When I saw the Cold Brew Green Tea bag in Donki (right), I thought that I've solved the problem until I had to spend a lot of time trying to brew the bags and still didn't taste like those drinks I had in Japan.

I know that brewing green tea takes time and I would love to attend a proper tea ceremony (led by Minghao hahaha!) someday but for now especially for those times when I'm rushing, I've been good with instant green tea bags.

Seventeen's Follow to Bulacan

The problem remained unsolved until Don Don Donki in Hong Kong happened and I chanced upon these three Jonetz Powder.

May green tea powder pala?! Would've solved this immediately if I Googled, right? May green tea powder pala! You can taste the difference of green tea powder and matcha powder at once but I never really paid attention until last November.

Anyway, I've been enjoying these green tea powders. These have become my go-to drink since November.

It doesn't even have a steeping time, mix lang sa iced water then I'm good to go.

KBYE

Gusto ko lang i-share bilang isang matcha and green tea addict na not all powders are the same. AHAHAHAHAHA.

Seventeen Concert Follow To Bulacan

Attended my first concert for 2024 and it's Seventeen's Follow Tour in Bulacan!!!

Be The Sun Manila Concert - Junhui Biased Haha

My second SVT concert. 🥰🫶

Getting ticket for this concert was a challenge and we didn't even got the seats we wanted. We signed up for the carat membership but no avail. Anyway, this was still a great show despite my distance to the stage because they went near all the concert goers when they rode the carts.

Standing, albeit closer to the stage, wasn't an option for us. HAHAHA! We need our seats. lol

My side also was very cool with the wind blowing throughout the night so I loved the experience. A lot more than an airconditioned venue but I know those from the other side of the bleachers and those standing didn't experience the same coolness we did.

We arrived there before 12 NN and the concert didn't begin until 7 PM but it was stress-free overall. 'Yun nga lang, we didn't form in line for Caratzone nor looked for freebies. We just ate lunch and snacks and stayed in the van that was in the parking area. Parang picnic lang. But for a Tita Carat - this was the best option. HAHAHA!

Much better experience than waiting for Bruno Mars 'cause it was raining hard back then and our only choice was to stay and wait in the flooded and crowded food pavillion the entire afternoon.

My bias is still Junhui but unlike the first concert I attended, I got to appreciate all the members now. lol.

Loving them more and more each day, you know.
