Healthy just got delicious.

Excited to share with you my first vegetarian cafe experience.

I was in Cebu with an unstable internet connection when Aldous texted me that we'll have an event in Agico Cafe so I was like, "Okay, I'll be there." without searching what their offerings are. I don't frequent San Juan area 'cause it's either I'm in Quezon City or far South in Pasay or Taguig so I haven't heard about them plus the stigma that vegetarian food is boring kaya out of my radar. Sorry na pooooo.

Came Wednesday, Ash Wednesday, I was about to text Aldous that I won't be able to make it to the event because I had to abstain from eating meat when I decided to search Agico's Cafe Instagram account once again and by then, I already noticed the word Vegetarian between the words Agico and Cafe. So safe, meatless naman pala. For us Roman Catholics, the meatless meals of Agico are perfect for the Lenten Season.

For nagbabalik-alindog, perfect for summer outing preparations. haha.

Until now pag nakikita ko 'yung pictures, napapaisip pa rin akong, "How can vegetarian food be that good?" Ang saya talaga and ang guilt-free.<3

Bacon Mushroom Burger
P 288.00

If you're not aware that these are meat substitutes, you'll really get tricked. It's amazing and confusingly delicious.

What the burger looks like.

Loved the healthiest burger I've had my whole life.

Butayaki Maki
P 258.00

I loved that Bacon substitute as much as I am curious to know what it really is. hehehe. All the ingredients are made from scratch, 10 years of experience and experimentation. No wonder all the meals that were served that night were all good.

Okonomiyaki
P 280.00

One of the very few times that I didn't get umay when I eat Okonomiyaki.

Gyoza
P 158.00

Notice that they have a lot of meals from the Japanese Cuisine. They are, afterall, a Japanese inspired Vegetarian Cafe. They have their own version of ramen and rice bowls as well.

Tofu Steak
P 230.00

I love tofu so it's a no-brainer that I'd like this one too.

Beef Tapsilog

This is the meal that really piqued my curiosity. That's meat substitute that is made from mushrooms (?). Seriously, it felt like biting a very tender and flavorful beef slice. Tapa without the guilt!

Baked Lasagna
P 268.00

This has to be one of the best lasagnas I've ever had. It's also the first dish we had in Agico, the very first time I questioned what the ground meat texture was. Hahaha. Seryoso, mga bes. Kakaiba pero ang saya!

Sesame Buchi
P 90.00

I'm not really a fan of this dessert but I still ate my share. Love that it's not too sweet!

I had that drink at the back of the green one, the Lemon Grass worth P 120.00. It's a very refreshing drink. You can easily taste the lemon grass but there's a hint of ginger and other tastes.

Agico's Branches and Contact Numbers

Order na or go to their restaurants to kick start your healthier eating habits. :)

Whoever said that vegetarian food is boring (guilty but I'm now guilt-free parang mga food nila sa Agico. hehe) clearly hasn't gone to Agico Vegetarian Cafe yet... hahahaha. Nakapunta na ko e so pwede ko na sabihin 'yan. With over 80 items on their menu  (Appetizer, Entree, Ramen, Burgers, Rice Bowls, Salad, Pasta, Pizza, Pie, Desserts, Raw Juices, Ice Blended Drinks, Smoothies), there's a lot more to try. I'll definitely bring my Mom here so she can try and taste the vegetarian version of her favorite Shoyu Ramen. <3

Thank you, Agico for the very healthy and mouthwatering meals! :D

And of course, Aldous for organzing this event.

My first flyout for 2017 was in the "City of Friendship," Bohol.

Bohol trip is very timely 'cause last February 8, 2017, Bohol has launched its new tourism motto which is Behold... Bohol. I want to congratulate the Province of Bohol not only for their new motto but also being able to declare that area has fully recovered from the earthquake they experienced last 2013.

This shall include our itinerary for our Bohol Trip which is just a Countryside tour (first day) and a two days, one night stay at the 2016's World Luxury Award Hotel winner which is the Henann Resort Alona Beach. Tamad lang kasi talaga mga kasama ko kaya mas okay na lang na sa resort nag-stay, charot!

3rd time's the charm for both Cebu and Bohol. haha.

Cebu - 2009, 2015, 2017
Bohol - 2010, (January) 2017, (February) 2017

Yep, mga besh. As of this writing, two times na. Sa sobrang kaladkarin ko, nag-Bohol na 'ko nung January bumalik pa ko nitong February pero keribells, I survived! <3 The life I chose. hahaha. Don't give up on me, universe.

By 2018, they will be opening their new International Airport in Panglao Island. Yey!

Craving for:
Milkshake?
Frozen Yogurt?
Shaved Ice?
Smoothie?

Whatever it is that you feel like eating out of the four mentioned above, I'm sure you'll find a flavor you want in Shakeaway, UPTC.

Over 180 flavors?
How overwhelming interesting is that?

Anyway, for those who don't know, Shakeaway is the world's largest milkshake bar company from United Kingdom. Yup, another international franchise that has arrived to the Philippines.

Once you enter the store, you'll immediately notice this wall filled with these yummy goodies that you may add in your milkshake.

To add to your confusion, huhu, parang ang sarap lahat!!!!

Do you like your drink Fruity? Sweety? Chocolatey? or Biscuity?

Since there are a lot of options, I liked that the list is already in the tables. Ang hirap naman din kasi mamili tas nakakangawit sa neck... dahil sobrang undecided ko parati. :)) Kasi naman over 180 flavors and over million of possible combination! Hirap, besh! But at the same time, it's impossible to not have something that will suit your taste.

It was a bloggers' event and for that night, we were able to try four milkshakes and frozen yogurt.

Max

Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Chocolate Filled Mint Candy with Milk Chocolate Chips on top.

Despite my initial impression that the mint overpowered all the chocolate taste in this milkshake, I came to like the combination after a few sips that I can say that out of the four I've tried that night, this was the best for me. <3

Jose

Ube and Macapuno with pinipig on top

This one is exclusive to the Philippines

This one's good too especially 'cause love your own, mga bes! Filipino flavors 'yan eh.

Toasty Tim

This drink is a part of their winter menu which means that it's limited edition. But once this one's out, they will definitely be releasing new set of menu for the next limited edition drinks.

The first time I've read hot milk shake I got curious already so good thing we were given this to try out. I loved how thick this hot chocolate drink is.

I forgot which soda was this but this is one of their soda shakes which I liked as well. Float na hinalo na nila for you, ganern.

I'm definitely going back for their matcha milkshake so watch out for me, Shakeaway. :))

That's it for the milkshakes... Here's the frozen yogurt.

The thing that I liked the most is that they used fresh strawberries. I just got used to strawberry purees on my frozen yogurt that I am impressed that the fruits are fresh. And look how generous they are with granola. So much love for, Izzie, the Fresh Froyo!

Thank you, Shakeaway Philippines for having us and Aldous for the invite! :)

Visit them at: Ground Floor, Phase 2, UP Town Center

Perfect place for team buildings, family gatherings... and budget conscious/anti-social people like us that is near Manila. Hahaha.

Bakasyunan Resort and Conference Center Part 1 post; here.
Bakasyunan Resort Website, Amenities and Rates: here.

You have two pool options in Bakasyunan.

This one which is overlooking the bay, windmills and Talim Island.

And these two which is more secluded.

This is their restaurant, bar and billiards area.

We wanted to swim that morning but it was cold when we headed out the room so we just decided to walk around the team building area to take some pictures. They have all the activities in their website, please refer to that for the rates.

We stayed there for quite some time that morning 'cause no other people were around. HAHA

EZ BB

Easy na easy mag panggap na strong kahit hindi. Charoooooot! Strong 'to. Mabilis lang bumitaw pero strong. HAHAHA.

This reminded me of San Diego's Safari. hehe.

We ate breakfast and decided to eat lunch there as well after checking out because we were thinking of heading to the windmills before going home but it started to rain. K, balik na lang kami, Tanay.

Other point of interest in Tanay:

Regina Rica
Pililia Windmills

I don't know but I really love looking at windmills. HAHAHA. As in, life pwede bang mag bahay na rin ako sa Rizal tas windmills 'yung background?? O patayo na lang ako ng sarili kong wind farm?? Luh hahaha

Kahit saan basta "walang tao" edi hayop... bagay, ganern? #lostinph #travelph #wanderlust #pinasmuna #nature

We had a glamping site in our mind since last December when we were planning our first (definitely not the last) get-away for 2017 but all they were offering for the weekend was an overnight, literally overnight that we had to leave at 6 AM the next morning. We were like, "Ugh, whatever. Let's find somewhere nice and relaxing."

We searched online for the resorts in Rizal. We were left with three options but Bakasyunan Resort's Website got us. Aside from the "almost" infinity pool overlooking Laguna Bay, Laguna, Rizal and Talim Island, it was the view of the windmills that lured us in. Not to mention that the cottage prices are affordable so it was within budget.

To get here, we rode a jeepney to Tanay and tricycle to Bakasyunan.

Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall - Junction - Tanay - Tricycle

Shopwise, Antipolo - Tanay - Tricycle (We passed through this on our way home, it's a bit shorter compared to what we took on our way to the resort)

Starmall Shaw, FX to Tanay then Tricycle (option for South people and those who don't like to ride a jeepney)

I knew of a different route that passes through Cogeo, I forgot which was it exactly but it was a jeepney ride from a market in Rizal to Sampaloc, Tanay.

I prefer the Cogeo route (especially for private vehicles) but if you're coming from Teresa, Baras etc., this is a bit past the entrance of Daranak and Batlag Falls.

Our tricycle driver stopped at the gate 'cause he thought that tricycles weren't allowed to enter the resort. Koya, magtanong kasi. Uphill, oh. Kahingal. HAHAHA.

We had a reservation before going but we weren't able to print the proof of fund transfer. It's a good thing though that they print for free.

Hello there, Pililia Windmills!

Pililia Windmills post link: here.

They had two areas with pool. This one's the infinity with the view of the windmills.

Our room for our overnight stay.

Sulit for its price!

The room was clean. Towels, tissue roll and soap were provided.

When we climbed Mt. Daraitan, we weren't able to go swim at Tinipak River so this is something I'm considering going back to. Ito lang. Di na 'yung Daraitan. HAHAHA!

At my back are bigger cottages than what we rented for the night, those are perfect for bigger groups or families.

While there are a lot of activities at the resort, we weren't able to do any because of budget constraints. Haha. Since we had to pay for each. :)) We just walked around and feel the mountain breeze.

The sunset color was superb even if we weren't able to see the sun, the variation of colors were more than enough beauty... and the girl at the picture was even more beautiful. ANORAW. UWI NA?! hahaha

We really wanted to save but the corkage fee scared us that only things we were able to bring were bottles of water, chips and bread. hahaha. We were hoping that Bakasyunan Resort's food will make not only our tummies happy, but our wallet as well.

And yes, it did.

Each order was for 2-3 persons and the taste was okay too. Keri lang, wag na magbaon kung di naman kayo group.

After we had our dinner, a lot of people were already by the pool area so it was out turn to go out to the team building part of the resort just so we wouldn't have to stay with the crowd... uhm, anti-social people? :))

Syempre, hanggang tingin lang kami. :))

This was where we stayed after dinner. HAHAHA!!!!!

Team building kung saan walang tao. Anong activity? Zumba via Youtube instructor. Makaiwas lang talaga sa tao. HAHAHAHA.

May part two pics. :D
