Binondo Food Wok 2013 (Tasty Dumplings, Dong Bei Dumplings, Binondo Church, Wai Ying) link: here.

From somewhere in Manila, I oftentimes suggest going to Chinatown to eat. Unfortunately, two of those several times, we got stuck in intense hair-pulling, nerve-wracking, mood downer traffic ordeals. As in, buti na lang there's Ying Ying Tea House in Dasmarinas Street Corner Yuchengco. Didn't have to reach the gate of Chinatown, pwede na umikot agad para umalis na sa super ma-traffic na area especially last December. I wasn't even able to make it to a blog event for Mesa in Eastwood because I got stuck in traffic there. Sorry po. :(

ANYHOW... these pictures were taken in two different visits.
Pay attention to the different watermarks. Haha. I was in the phase of deciding which one should I use and what domain should I replace my old domain with.
Thanks Ying Ying for saving the starving us twice.

Sincerity Chicken and other restaurants inside Chinatown were all close yet soooooo far and nahihiya na ko 'cause my companions all looked irritated. Hangry mode on na. We could've eaten at the nearest fast food joint but no. hahahahaha. Too much for always being the reason why they're inconvenienced. hahahahaha. But I still am the reason why they get to taste the food at different restaurants, right????? Pwede na. The end justifies the means. hahahahahahaha.

Good thing I saw the sign of Ying Ying Tea House and I was like, "Pwede kaya tayo mag-park para dyan na lang tayo kumain?!" Our driver was like, "Oo, pwede naman." Me: "Sige, Kuya dyan na lang tayo."
I wasn't able to read online reviews about Ying Ying but we still entered because we were famished and we wanted to get away Binondo real quick. I immediately saw that the place was packed and there were a lot of Chinese Nationals, it was only then that I felt okay with our decision. Haha.

And much more okay when I was able to taste the service hot tea. LOOOOOOOOOOOVED THIS!!!! I think it was a mild wintermelon tea.
For 90.00/bowl, their serving is already huge.
This is White Chicken Mami.
Same story as above, we didn't make it to Chinatown so we ate here again. HAHAHA. I was quite disappointed when I found out that for that day, it was jasmine hot tea. The variant I prefer the least. :( Iba iba pala...
Xia Long Bao
Sarap naman.

I was a victim of food poisoning so back then, I was really cautious as to what I am stuffing my mouth with (HAHA!). Seeing that their Dimsums were placed outside, as in para siyang isawan na nasa labas tas may mga dumadaan na cars at tao pero may cover naman, I was apprehensive while ordering this. I obviously did and I'm still okay. Safe naman.

That set-up isn't something that all people would feel comfortable in because it looks unsanitary tbh.

For the overall cleanliness of Ying Ying, I can't say that it's the cleanest restaurant I've been to but it's also not too shabby. The crowd, service, price, and the taste of food compensate eh. Keri lang.
Soy Chicken Rice
Not my order though I love the dip.
I forgot what's the name of this but I had slices of Roasted Peking Duck, Asado, and Liempo.

All of these were good. Also, notice the big serving of rice. Hindi namin naubos 'yung one cup nila.
Because they have one of the best mami that I have tried so far. Just that the soup of beef mami and soy chicken mami are more flavorful than the soup of this (Dumpling Mami/Wanton Mami).

---END---
And who knows?
Ying Ying could save us again in the future so I'm looking forward to our third visit.

I ate my first Hainanese Chicken meal in Singapore. Back there, the meal wasn't one for the books but it definitely made me want to try other restaurants serving Hainanese Chicken.

Anyway, most of the restaurants I've gone to didn't even make it to my Instagram account but Wangfu made it twice. My first time in their Il Terazzo branch and this one in UPTC. So ang espesyal kapag na-Instagram at na-blog ganon. HAHAHA.

Meal comes with soup and tofu with pork floss. I think this set meal is also with unlimited rice, I am just not sure.

The chicken was cooked right - it was tender and juicy. I wish I could say that this tastes close to the one I had in Singapore but no I can't because this is much better. Also, the three dipping choices are so good though only spring onion with ginger soy sauce are for me. Yup, Wangfu's one for the boo...blog. :))
This is the first time trying Salted Egg Fried Chicken.

The main reason why I ordered this is because I was curious as to what it tastes like. What can I say? It tastes good especially since you can really taste the flavor of the salted egg as the breading and it's quite crunchy but this is something that I probably need to get used to before appreciating it fully.  You know those food that you're used to eat with a constant partner (Salted Egg with Tomatoes) that pairing it with other food isn't something you immediately like. Or ako lang 'to. Haha.
Pork Chop with Chinese Style Mayo

This one's good to but there's an umay factor. Should've have stuck with Sweet and Sour Pork.

I don't remember why I have no picture of our Shark's Fin Dumpling but it is something you should try. As in, okay na nga ko dun saka Hainanese Chicken Rice eh. :))

(JK. Sobrang bihira lang mag-Tagaytay at asa lang Singapore!!!) Pero balak ko naman igeo-tag lang ng i-geo tag 'yung photos ko kasi lilibutin ko pa buong mundo. Mundo agad. Wow, sossy lang. HAHAHAHAHA.

O sige, push ko 'to lahat!! Baka pumayat rin ako kaka-PUSH!!

Dahil dyan, nasa China na 'ko.

The only Lemon Chicken I enjoyed so far.

Lemon Chicken Super Solo Meal / Rice Toppings
P 119.00

While most people prefer their sauce and chicken mixed, I prefer mine like this so I can adjust the quantity of lemon sauce. And although the breading was kind of thick, it was still crispy and didn't taste like flour.
The chicken meat was also fried just right and the quantity matched the rice quantity!!!! Problema talaga 'to sa'kin kasi malakas ako mag-ulam, tas madalas sa rice bowl e ang daming kanin tas sobrang konti ng ulam.

Chinatown has become a must-visit for every foodie. You may consider it a haven for those who love eating Authentic Chinese food while in budget.

As a Binondo first-timer, I had to rely on my friend who had listed down some of the visit-worthy restaurants there. Yey for the hardwork!

Walk.Walk.Walk.

Good thing I love walking around.

Here's the first stop:

Tasty Dumplings in Masangkay Street. There's also a branch in Ongpin Street.

Noodles with Fried Porkchop costs P 115.00 and a glass of cold Soya Milk costs P 35.00

What I liked about this the most is the porkchop! It's thin, crispy and really delicious. You have three options: pair it with noodles, pair it with rice or eat it ala carte.
For this time 'cause I had no idea that the porkchop is seriously ulam-able, I paired it with noodles. The combination is good and filling too but I'd resort to a rice pair next time. I tried eating it the Chinese way with noodles but I'm going back to rice.

Here are some pics of my visit to Vikings at SM Marikina

Are you ready for a Feast from the Sea? :))
I thought I was but apparently I wasn't. hahaha

The selections were so plenty we didn't know where to start.

Here's my first plate.
Sorry I really have problems when it comes to good plating.

Loved their "talangka fried rice" though I only got a little, it's a buffet so you should skip on rice they make you feel full fast.

Sushi and sashimi, of course.

Cold cuts, cheeses and caviar.
Sorry, fish eggs. -_-
Tenderloin Steak
Tsokolate Batirol
I liked that white cheese (whatever is the name) and almonds.

Just look how full my first plate was and not wanting to get anymore on the last. hahaha
The view from our seat.
Yogurt Soup
Too bad it's not yet frozen.
And the desserts I regret not having.
My stomach can't handle them anymore.

Another serving of yogurt soup (it supposed to be frozen yogurt), chocolate and cheesecake.
Oolong Tea
I didn't even get taste everything, yet I walked out of there with super full stomach.

I used to wonder whether or not paying 888+ for a buffet was worth it, it's more expensive from the usual 400+, right? But seeing the wide selections in Vikings, it's definitely worth it. Really. I was actually so overwhelmed by the choices this time and I stuck with my usual picks. I would love to eat there again to try the other food selections out, there are still so much left to try.

And oh, very accommodating staffs and chefs they have there.

Probably because I'm always exposed to buffets that I'm less thrilled this time. Constant exposure to something dulls you, you know. Or maybe, I just want to try something else. I've been there a lot of times already. Or maybe, it's sinking in that I've gained back the pounds I tried to lose last year. That's why whenever I took a bite of something, it bothered me so much. HAHAHA. Joke.  Idk. Whatever. I still ate a lot though less than before. Ugh, constant exposure it is. Scratch the weight reason.

But I'm thankful for this experience. Super lunch, indeed.

Here are some pictures:

Pizza!

So they also offer pizza in Yakimix? I like it since it's thin crust.

Definitely not the kind of foods I'm having on daily basis but because I've been at Yakimix for a lot of times already and these are almost the same offerings, it must have been because there wasn't anything new to look forward to, aside from the pizza I had two slices of, that I'm less excited.

My second plate for desserts.

I like that fruit tart or whatever it's called, especially the whipped cream inside.
This isn't from Yakimix I just wanted to post.

And their updated price list.
