Another Saturday well spent!

No one wants to be hit by a disaster but it's on times like this that you are able to see how selfless most people are.

These aren't all the donations because this is only one of the numerous repacking sites for Yolanda's victim but you just can't help but be  overwhelmed by the quantity of goods that are continuously being donated there.

I'd prefer to be in the field and be the one to give these relief goods to the victims but that's just not possible.

With two of my friends, we decided to spend some hours volunteering here at Red Cross in Quezon City Hall, Gate 5 (along Kalayaan avenue).

No need for scheduling.
Go there, log in then you're good!
We sorted out some donated clothes and then later on sorted out the canned goods too.

This may seem like a small thing but I really wish that the victims would feel the outpouring support other people are giving them.

The concern, the help, just about everything is stupendous.
Red Cross Quezon City Chapter Contact Details and Bank Accounts

P.S. I'm not even affected but whenever I read newspapers or online articles and watch news about all the help we are continuously given, I can't help it but be touched too. To our fellow Filipinos and the international community who have been donating a lot and have been showing their support and concern, thank you so much!! All your help- big or small- would definitely be an instrument in rebuilding another person's life.

This is the first Persian food post in this blog and now that I've mentioned it, the last time I ate Kebab was more than 2 years ago. Obviously, that's prior to the "birth" of this blog.

Let's start with the restaurant.
It's a fine dining restaurant and I don't know why entered. HAHAHAHA.
We requested that we sit in this part of the restaurant which has curtains to separate each tables. You can have the waiters put the curtains down for some privacy and "arte" like what we did with ours. It was also cozier that way.
As for the menu, I was overwhelmed by the choices not only because of the vast selections they have but also because I'm not familiar with most of their offerings.
Trinoma is a busy (and noisy) mall so I appreciated the ambiance of this restaurant. It was very private, relaxing and homey; a break from the crowded "outside world".
I can't remember the price but this is less than P 350.00
Chelo Beef Kebab

My Kebab was mild and was spiced and cooked just right.

But more than the meat, the rice was the star of this meal.
It's long-grained rice, steamed perfectly and very flavorful on its own. I just don't know what the rice variant was.

Spicy and Garlic Sauce
I don't know if the white one is really garlic sauce or just a yogurt sauce. It doesn't taste garlicky enough for me while the hot sauce was so so so so spicy I literally drank a whole glass of water when I tried it.

Spiciness threshold is only high whenever I eat Korean food.

I've passed by this restaurant for a loooot of times already being the Trinoma girl that I am or I was but this is my first time to eat there.

I've also been seeing the word Hossein whenever I'm in Serendra and Greenbelt (I can't recall which one) and I think, those three are just practically the same. Or maybe not.

Dessert time!!!
Looked for desserts kasi akala ko gutom pa 'ko and we ended up eating at Mary Grace
This reminded me of Conti's Mango Bravo probably because of the mango (obviously) and the graham (na medyo nougat) layers only the latter has chocolate. But this is good too!!! If not for my love of chocolate, I'd choose this over MB.

HAHAHA. KAYA AYOKONG NAGDE-DESCRIBE NG PAGKAIN EH. NAKAKATAWA LANG. SORRY NA, HINDI TALAGA KO CRITIC. ALAM KO LANG ANG MASARAP SA HINDI AT ANG BET SA HINDI. HAHAHA.
My order.
Mary Grace Cheesecake
P 120.00/slice

Simple yet one of the best (Kung may susunod sa gawa kong cheesecake haha!, ito na siguro 'yun.)
It's smooth, creamy and priced just right.

This one's good too although I prefer their 3 cheese ensaymada more.

Next time, Laguna cheese naman. Ehehehe.

Classic Grilled Ensaymada
P 73.00.

So dalawa lang kami but we ordered three kinds so 'yung Ate while ordering.

Kami: Meron bang Strawberry Shortcake?
Ate: Wala po eh.

*medyo na-disappoint*

Ugh,  Grilled Ensaymada.
Ate: So orders are Cheesecake and Grilled Ensaymada?
Kami: Pati po Mango Bene. 3.

Basta ganyan. Shems. Katakawan!!

P.S. Most of times, I just order service/house water whenever I eat out to save and I'm not usually a soda drinker (pero umiinom, minsan pag budget meal ahahah saka libre so para maka-save lang siguro) And, Mary Grace gets a star for effort because they serve lemon water. I love Mary Grace Cafe's house water!

I rarely go night swimming. Well okay, I rarely go swimming but it's more rare that I go night swimming.

Almost two weeks ago, we went on a night swimming at Bosay resort in Antipolo. For me, Bosay Resort isn't an ideal place for a night swimming. This is MY opinion though. I'd prefer to be there on a daytime to see a better view of the whole resort. Medyo sayang eh. Night swimming is only for private resorts where you don't have to stroll around the place anymore... saka 'yung may mga thermal pool pati, ang lamig eh!
Here's a picture of their Bosay Hotel.
Choices of cottages and required swimwear. They're really strict when it comes to the implementation of bathing suits rule. It's wear the proper attire or you're not allowed swim.

Bosay Resort Rates
We paid P 190.00/head
This is the Storm Wave Pool which we were able to try first.
I loved it there but when we went back later that night, it was closed already.
Of all the resorts I've been at, this is the first time that I've encountered a disco pool.
Inside is a pool and a dance floor. I heard that a lot of people look forward for this.
Turtle Pool for the kids
This pool is the cause of all our confusions and disappointments. HAHAHAHA.
We went there on a night swimming because we were hoping for a Thermal pool, you know, that pool with warm water but we ended up finding a Therapy pool which we don't get why it's called that way.  It's not therapeutic at all.
Inside the disco pool area.

I am "normally" that person whom you'd find dancing in a crowd but I forgo of that this time and chose to stay in the more serene Olympic pool beside this disco pool area.

Also, the whole experience felt like we were swimming in an iced water. It was so cold!!! It didn't help that Bosay Resort is situated in a mountain and we were out swimming until past 12 midnight! Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the Olympic Pool and looking at the night sky although there weren't much stars. Take me back to Ilocos, please. The night sky there is still the best I've ever seen.
No sleep for that night. We just rested inside the cottage for a bit, waited for our "wake up" call at 5 AM and when we headed out our room, it was almost sunrise.
Strolling there on a morning is seriously better than strolling there at night.
Photo ops before leaving

Bosay is in a mountain so it's understandable that you're going to walk on slopes. You'll get tired swimming but you'll get more tired transferring from a pool to another. Walking uphill definitely gets more difficult when you're soaking wet.

There was also a slight feeling of regret that we didn't get to see their Infinity pool because it's closed during the night.

We had no problems with the pool water quality. In fact, the water of their Olympic pool is one of the best I've swam at.

I'll be exploring more of Antipolo resorts soon. hihihihihi. Someday, infinity pool, someday.

Let us all help Yolanda's victims rebuild their lives.

I've been living comfortably without even realizing how devastating and how horrific these past three days were to those people living in the typhoon-hit areas of the country.

I knew about Haiyan, I knew that it was one of the most powerful typhoons in history, I knew about the storm surges that hit the land as if they were tsunamis, I knew the facts but it was only earlier this evening as I was watching a local television show that I finally felt how hard it was for them. The whole time the segment was airing I was trying my best to stop my tears from flowing but to no avail.

They need our help.
Rappler has combined all the possible donation options here.

1. If you are doing good financially then you may donate money.
2. If you don't have extra money to spare, look for old clothing or just about anything you can give away which you can drop off at those places accepting donations.
3. If both of these aren't possible, offer them your service and time by volunteering in places that repack relief goods.
4. If you can't, you may help by being the one to gather donations among your friends and families.
5. If none of the above is possible, why not offer them prayers? Prayers can move mountains. :)

I've donated some in World Vision and probably more tomorrow through BPI.
Please choose wisely. It pains me even more that some people actually take advantage of this situation and just pocket the donations.

Ma, just let go. Save yourself.
(Di mababaw ang luha ko and as much as possible ayokong umiiyak ako pero grabe, umiiyak ako ngayon.

Oo, meron tayong standards of morality.
Hay, I'm torn. I've been hearing news about people stealing things other than basic needs eh kaya hindi ko rin alam kung anong dapat kong isipin.

Kailangan ng MATINO AT EFFECTIVE na governing body and I hope, I really hope agad agad silang makagalaw.

Tahimik na lang and just find ways to help.

May God bless the Philippines more.
Sana maka-recover tayo ASAP.
