A little trivia: Fuwa Fuwa means fluffy in Japanese.

I initially thought that being in Japan means eating sushi, ramen, and other kinds of Japanese food everyday but then as we were touring around Japan last Spring, we found ourselves just wanting to eat bread almost all the time. I don't know how to describe it but there's something about their bread's taste that is unique to Japan.

With this being said, whether you've previously been to the Land of the Rising Sun or not, you can now #tasteJapan here in the Philippines. Yep, experience that fluffy goodness in every bite with several varieties of bread from Fuwa Fuwa.

Last June 26, 2019, Fuwa Fuwa Philippines held a blessing and an inauguration ceremony at their plant in Santo Tomas, Batangas.

As much as I wanted to create a beautiful flatlay photo, we all know that it's still something that I struggle on doing even after all the pictures I've taken. Haha!

Nippon Premium Bakery Inc. (NPB) started in 2017 as a manufacturer and retailer of Japanese baked products. The joint venture began with a partnership of Sojitz Corporation (Tokyo), Ryoyu Baking Co. Ltd (Fukuoka), and JR&R Distributors, Inc. with the goal of bringing the taste of Japan to the Philippines.

We were able to see the manufacturing area through a glass window from the beginning until the end of the process. Aside from the buttery aroma, I immediately noticed the state of art machines and equipments that they use during the production. You can be assured that safety, quality, cleanliness and sanitation are observed and practiced with every product manufactured in the plant.

Premium breads authentically Japanese made.

Fuwa Fuwa can be found in Waltermart, Landmark, SM and Robinson's Supermarket.

Landmark, Trinoma has a floor advertisement on the bread and baking products aisle. My sister took a picture of me in it even before I knew I was attending this event just 'cause Japan is written and I just got back from a Japan trip. Lol

Wolmi Theme Park - one of the attractions of Incheon.

After Incheon Chinatown, we rode a bus that took us directly to the entrance of the Wolmi Park. Above is a hiking area but it was too cold for us to try going up a mountain again. I just didn't have proper winter clothes but it was less than 5 degrees Celsius that afternoon and event went down to negative at night.

Then we walked towards the Theme Park area but first decided to take photos at the Lighthouse Road. It was, again, too cold so there's not a lot of people that time.

That is the theme park.

I first saw that in Two Days, One Night. Kind of old unlike the theme parks you'll find in Seoul but I think that this is still worth the visit especially 'cause it's situated on a beach side and there's no entrance fee.

This is a lot like Coney Island's Theme Park in New York City, USA. I haven't posted about that yet but yeah, kinda similar especially the location which is near the beach.

There are the prices for the rides. There were three interesting rides for me but it was too cold that I thought that I'll freeze if I ride the other two and so we stuck with the Ferris Wheel.

Bought tickets and were excited to ride not only because it's a Ferris Wheel but 'cause we needed a temporary warm shelter from the freezing cold.

It wasn't spacious so perfect for couples, perhaps? :))

Disco Pangpang - probably the most famous ride in this theme park.

Had I known that I'll be able to go to Korea for two consecutive winters, I would've bought at least one proper winter wear. lol. Always underdressed for winter 'cause I don't want to invest for clothes since we don't have winter in the Philippines but probably will look into some ukay-ukay shops here in QC next year.

Good spot for the sunset so make sure you're in the area to watch it.

After sundown, the temperature fell to negative Celsius so we had to find a convenience store to rest for a while. I think this was in GS25 and the ajusshi was selling us some hot packs which we politely declined (wala kasi sa budget. lol) but instead got a cup of hot chocolate.  After this, we went back to the bus station and waited for a bus that took us to the train station... and back to Seoul we went.

There are a number of tourist attractions in Incheon area but since we arrived a little bit late in the afternoon, we didn't have enough time to go around and so I'm only posting Chinatown and Wolmi Theme Park from Incheon.

Kaya natin 'to, sis.

Once you're in Chinatown, you'll see a staircase leading to the mountain and if you continue going up then you'll reach the Freedom Park - a park honoring General McArthur. By the way, this Chinatown has been operating since 1883.

Statues of zodiac animals are lined along the walkway leading to more stairs to the park. This can be difficult for adults but it's always bearable and doable especially if you take your time and just enjoy the walk.

Although there are a lot of people along the street and lined-up at the Chinese-Korean Restaurants, only a few people went up this place. Actually, at that time of year, there really isn't a lot of things to see here but I saw pictures of it during Spring and Autumn and those are definitely another story.

You can see the ports and some parts of downtown Incheon from this pavilion but since it was a winter afternoon with a negative degree Celsius in temperature, going up here was a freezing experience that we only took photos and immediately went down.

This is the walkway that looks breathtaking when cherry blossoms are in full bloom but on a winter day, then you'll just freeze yourself out there aside from seeing the skyline of Incheon. Good place nonetheless to burn all the calories from Jajjangmyeon and Tangsuyuk.

Always looking for a Chinatown wherever I go especially because I love the colorful arches/gates they have. Good thing we visited on a very cold weekday afternoon so there weren't a lot of people roaming around here but this Chinatown gets pretty packed on some days.

My zodiac.

This part of Incheon's Chinatown with the arch is kinda similar to the Chinatown in San Francisco.  Only it's Korean restaurants in the former and stores in the latter. But yea, with the picture of the arch you get similar feel. Or are Chinatowns all over the world like this?

We tried to follow the subway instructions in getting to this part of Incheon but we got lost that what was supposed to be an hour of travel from Seoul turned out to be around two hours. There's a confusing line in Noryangjin area so we kinda boarded the wrong train and had to go back and there's also a confusing instruction in the trains that go to this area that we had to alight at a station and transfer. I already forgot what happened exactly but yeah, we got lost for a bit.

Okay fine. This is not the first time I've eaten jajjangmyeon 'cause I bought a pack of the instant one last year to bring back to the Philippines but I didn't like it all. But a lot of kdrama characters like eating jajjangmyeon so I wanted to try the "real" one.

And where else do I need to try this dish if not at the Port of Incheon, the place where it was first introduced in Korea.

Usually people would order sweet and sour pork with this but due to budget constraints (lol), we decided to order jajjang with fried rice and jajjangmyeon.

The "real" one tasted delicious tho I'd take the one with noodles anytime. The noodles were kinda like udon but thinner and more chewy. The thick sauce is made with black bean sauce. I can't describe it now but there's one thing that I'm sure of; it truly is one your perfect comfort food. Afterall, it's the food for those with a lonely heart. HAHAHA.

Trivia: for single people in Korea or for a person who's love wasn't reciprocated on March 14, April 14 is considered a "Black Day"  - a date meant to celebrate the sorrow and loneliness of being single. HAHAHAHA

Buddha stands with two balls over his head, one for riches and one for happiness.

Yey daw sabi ni Buddha baka busy pa si someone in making himself/herself a better person for you. HAHAHA. Ako, di naman ako nagmamadali.  :))) Charot!

Kdrama Feels at Naksan Park (낙산공원)

If there's one thing that I'm sure Korean drama fans like me can agree to when making a South Korea travel itinerary, that is finding the shooting locations of our beloved dramas.

Well, I tried to find several shooting locations of my all-time favorite drama, "Fight For My Way" when I was in Busan...

Aside from the markets and malls that you can see when exploring Dongdaemun Area, there are two walking tours you can do that start here.

One is to walk along the Cheonggyecheon Stream all the way to Seoul City Hall or go to this gate called Heunginjimun Gate also known as Dongdaemun gate and start hiking your way up to the Seoul Fortress.

However, if you're not into hiking then you can just stay in the area on the above picture called Seonggwak Park then go back to DDP. The view is already beautiful from this area but if you're into the legit Kdrama setting then you'd have to walk further up.

There weren't a lot of people that day early evening so we were able to take lots of photos.

While you have this narrow walkway, you can always walk on safer left side and just walk a bit here for, you know, photo ops. :))

If only Intramuros felt this safe at night then we'd have a place here in the Philippines to compare this with.

View from Seonggwak Park.

By the way, Ihwa Mural Village is in this area as well.

It's a place kinda similar to Busan's Gamcheon Village with all the wall paintings so it's worth the visit especially for your #IGgoals. I suggest going here around three to four in the afternoon so you'd have enough time to roam around the village when there's sunlight to see the artworks and then later on see the nightscape after sunset.

Namsan is on the opposite side of Naksan.

There's actually a lot more hiking trails if you're talking about the whole Seoul Fortress but I've only done Namsan and Naksan so far.

Pa-cute. HAHAHA!

Hanyang is Seoul's name during the 14th century.

The entire Seoul Fortress.

I don't know, Seoul feels like a small place but there's too much to see. It's like they packed in so much in this area yet it still feels like there are a lot of open spaces.

I mean, you have your countless high-rise buildings and all those modern stuff going on and then you'd have several big parks and traditional palaces AND YET, it feels like it's not too big 'cause everything feels like walking distance. HAHAHA HIRAP MAG-EXPLAIN, BESH. Baka kasi malamig lagi kapag nagpupunta ko doon kaya masaya maglakad, feeling ko malapit lang mag lugar.

The entrance of Ihwa-dong Mural Village from Naksan.

내가 존재하는 이유는 뭘까
사랑이 뭘까 난 그게 참 궁금해
사랑하면서 난 또 외롭다
사는 게 뭘까 왜 이렇게 외롭니
또다시 사랑에 아프고 싶다

I have no list of the Kdramas that were shot here but this place surely is familiar, right? Though mas madali lang kasi talagang tandaan 'yung Namsan dahil siguro sa tower at hindi naman kasi nababanggit masyado kung saan 'to pag pinapakita sa drama, maganda lang 'yung view.

We continued and reached the summit but the surprising thing is that even if  we didn't have a lot of people walking with us uphill, we saw a lot of people in this area. Guess what? You can take a public bus to the summit!!! hahaha!

Ito 'yung malakas maka-Kdrama talaga.

'Yung mga eksena na medyo seryosong usapan ng characters tas maghihiwalay na sila kasi walang forever... :)))

We didn't know where this was headed the time but we didn't want to go back to where we started so we just continued walking. There would always be a bus somewhere that will take us back to Seoul Station if we got lost and couldn't find any way to go back to the hotel by foot.

This place is a new neighborhood for the both of us so it was fun (my friend and I like walking around so this is our kind of fun.lol). The gate above is called Hyehwa-mun which is also a part of the Seoul fortress gates. We didn't know where exactly we were at that time but we just followed the road signs pointing to Seoul Station and soon enough we found ourselves in a busy street of Hyehwa (near Changdeokgung). We saw a Gong Cha branch so we took a break but upon resting, we decided to walk again rather than take the metro simply because it's not everyday that we get the chance to explore a foreign city by foot on a winter night.

A lot of walking again then we finally reached the entrance of Cheonggyecheon Stream from Gwangjang Market in Jongno-5. For that night, we walked more or less six hours 'cause we took the looooooooong route from Dongdaemun to Seoul Station which is only 15 minutes away via subway.
