Three Days and Two Nights Sample Itinerary with Expenses in Baguio: here.
The Road That Lead Me to BagUIO (Kennon Road): here.

Do you plan to go to Baguio during the APEC holidays? Haay. Buti pa kayo. Team bahay is love. Hahaha!

What I am posting here are the photos I took when we went there one afternoon last October. It was an unplanned trip so I wasn't able to look for tourists spots other those we've visited last year.

Also, this was after Typhoon Lando so the damages it did to Baguio (Nothern Luzon actually) were still evident.

... can they find their way home? Sudden #roadtrip. 💗 #baguio #walangjacket #walangpowerbank #walangcharger #aldubit 💕

We were only there for around five hours but still thankful that I was able to spend an afternoon there. Cordillera Administrative Region has a special place in my heart that I always look forward to going back no matter how long the travel time takes. Someday, Buscalan and Sagada!

ANYHOW...

Passed through the picturesque Kennon Road and we arrived at Baguio. Grabe, Kennon Road!
Viewing Deck of the Good Shepherd Convent
Houses and Mountain Ranges.
That's me wearing NYX's Copenhagen Matte Cream Lipstick
It's a good thing Good Shepherd accept card payments. Di ako prepared but I was able to buy bottles of ube jam. Hehe.
This is Mines View Park now.

The entrance of the park looks much better compared to its state last year.

These are all for sale.

New gate.
I felt sad upon seeing this. This wasn't the only tree that got uprooted during the typhoon. I can't even imagine how long it took for this tree to grow then nawala na lang ng ganun.
Missing the foggy view of Burnham Park

Di kasi masyadong malamig and foggy when we there unlike the first when it was almost zero visibility everywhere.
Burnham Lake
More broken branches and uprooted trees.
I have been wearing that necklace for more than 5 years now and we've gone to a lot of places that's why I am frustrated that I lost it yesterday morning when I'm just staying at home. Hello, natulog lang ako tas nowhere to be found na. NAKAKALOKA.

I don't know if I placed it somewhere I can't recall since I was too sleepy or whatevs, di ko talaga mahanap more so maalala.

Pag may nawala, may darating.
Baguio Cathedral was repainted. This is my first time entering the church. Hehe. THANK YOU POOOOO!
One of my favorite spots in Baguio.

First visit link: here.
Yes pls. hehehehe. Money daw oh.
This is what the Baguio Cathedral looks now. Pink paint 'to before.
Last stop was the Wet Market to buy fresh vegetables.

Tas found out na meron palang orange farm something sa Mountain Province. Hehe. Soon.
And it won't be complete without strolling along Session Road.

Hahaha. Okay na okay na sa'kin ang HI. Artista levelz lang. hahaha. :))) Charot!

Enjoy your trip! :)

I Kennon!

I went to Baguio two times last year and for both I was asleep the whole drive and only awoke when we have arrived in Baguio. Plus, all those were at night so there wasn't much to see.

So... Baguio has three major access routes from the lowlands: Marcos Hiway, Naguilian Road and Kennon Road.

Three days and Two Nights Sample Baguio Itinerary (2014) link: here.
Mt. Pulag Climb Series (2014) link: here.
One Afternoon in Baguio (2015) link: here.

It was only on our most recent trip to Baguio that I was able to look at the view.

Funny thing here is all those months, I thought that it was Kennon Road the buses were passing through. Hahahaha. There's definitely a lot more to learn.

Ito pala 'yung famous lion's head.
Lando's damage was still evident in the area. :( This is only one of the many landslides we saw on our way.

There are camps 1-8 in Kennon. It was said that the camps were for the builders of the road that was then occupied by the local residents.
Kennon is a landslide and accident prone road especially during the rainy season. We even personally saw the aftermath of Lando but not one of us was thinking about the danger. Instead,  we were only marveling about the beauty that is Kennon.

I have no pictures of the canyon below where the Bued River flows. Aside from the zigzag road, there are also several cascades and cliffs that you can look at.

This only proved that CAR is, so far, my favorite region in the Philippines. Hehe. More plsssss.

Why so lost, bread?

Another Maginhawa food find.

I have a loooooot of backlogs from there (not only from there pala haha!). Naipon na since July. Aigooo. I still have Artsy Cafe, Rojo's Baked Chicken, and North Wing Manila.

Anyhow,

We went there on a Saturday night and the StrEat was full of diners it was crazy. We formed our line and after around 20 minutes, they posted a sign that they're going to have the ice cream machine rest. We obviously had no choice. Hope they find a solution for this though. Sayang oras.

Since we really wanted to know why was this so hyped, we decided to return and fortunately the line was still short when we arrived at the StrEat.

We found #thelostbread. Bakit ba naman kasi 'yon nawala? Hahaha! 😂 @thelostbread_ #milkshake #maginhawa #strEAT #swissmissed #thecampfire 😋
A photo posted by Tin Gallemaso (@xtintina) on Aug 29, 2015 at 6:09am PDT

Ito na nga 'yon.

After all the wait and several inconveniences, we got to order our drinks and true enough, plus sa presentation because even if we didn't get to order The Carnival (the milkshake that has cotton candy on top), Swissmissed and The Campfire were also Instagram-worthy.

Wala sa picture 'yung order ko actually. I got Spiked Cookie for variety's sake and it was a wrong decision - what you usually get for ordering just for the sake of ordering is something you won't like. It was good though nothing really special. I also found the milkshake too sweet but the main reason why I wasn't able to finish my drink is because it has coffee. HAHAHA. My fault talaga for ordering a drink with coffee when I know that I can only drink a few sips of it. K. Fine. Aamin na. The Baileys got me. Hahaha. Charot lang! You can hardly taste the Baileys dahil kaunti lang naman.

For a drink with Baileys, it's still Superduck Teahouse's Baileys Milk Tea.

Will try it there again only when the Carnival with cotton candy is available. Otherwise, it will (always) be matcha bingsu from Magpie Cafe.

As much as possible, refrain from going there during weekends because it is too crowded. Pero if you're after the crowd, edi go. Madali lang naman akong kausap. ;)

Maginhawa Street in Teacher's Village is the street of first to nth rounds if you know what I mean. It feels incomplete if you're only visiting one out of the several restaurants there. Or usual, baka ako lang 'to.

Here's my rounds one and two, Tornado Peri-Peri Chicken and Sancho Churreria Manila. 10 weeks ago na pala! My golly.

One thing when you're the person who's kain ng kain is there's a tendency that the people you're with rely on you in choosing where to eat. They're like, "Ikaw, ikaw naman maraming alam na kakainan." I appreciate that but like what I am always saying, it's tough to be the one deciding because what tastes good for me may not taste good for them. At! :)))

The usual scenario when it's an unplanned Maginhawa food trip is we walk along the street without an idea on where we are going to eat. Tingin lang and then pag may recall 'yung resto, okay na dun.

Will be back, #tornadoperiperichicken 😋 #maginhawa #food.
A photo posted by Tin Gallemaso (@xtintina) on Aug 30, 2015 at 4:03am PDT

We were only supposed to cross the street pero sinalubong na kami ng staff nila. Haha! I haven't tried eating here as well kaya sige, dito na lang din.

I don't know what Peri-Peri was. All I know is I have a low tolerance for spicy food so I ordered the original variant. Oh, I learned that peri means pepper.

The chicken was grilled perfectly - tender and not too burnt but I had friends who were disappointed during their visit 'cause they were served dry and bland chicken daw kaya idk. The sauce tasted new to me that I don't even know how to describe it (as if this is something new). I liked it though there's a slight hint of star anise. Never liked star anise in my food buti na lang kaunti lang.

The place was small and it was kind of hot inside. If I return there, I'd sit at the tables outside.

For dessert, it was Sancho Churreria Manila.

We liked the #chocolate dip a lot.😋 #sancho #churros #maginhawa @sanchochurreriamnl
A photo posted by Tin Gallemaso (@xtintina) on Aug 31, 2015 at 9:09pm PDT

P 88.00

A friend recommended Sancho to me before saying that they're well-known for their churrros con chocolate so when we passed by their restaurant, dun na lang.

For the price and taste, this is definitely a steal. I captioned in my Instagram post that I liked the chocolate dip a lot because it's bittersweet. I like the taste but I hope it has a thicker consistency.

One similarity of these restaurants is their social media presence. They both replied to my Instagram posts and Peri-Peri take pictures of all their diners and post them in their Facebook account.

What to do, where to go, who to contact for your Palawan trip? Ito na. :)

Finally posting this skeletal itinerary after 4 months since this trip. I'm grateful for the four days we spent there even if some of those that had happened weren't the experiences we looked forward to. Sabihin na lang natin na, there's a reason for everything. Huhuhu.

Click on the links to open a new tab

Day 1
We spent almost the whole day waiting at the airport because our flight got delayed for more than six hours!

Enroute to Palawan

Day 2

Breakfast in El Nido

Tour A:
7 Commandos Beach
Big Lagoon
Small Lagoon
Lunch
Snorkeling
Secret Place/ Survivor Sweden Location (Hindi ko alam pangalan nung lugar! haha!)
End of Tour A
Back to Puerto Princesa

Day 3
Buena Vista
Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park Tour
Ugong Rock Formation (Caving and Spelunking)

Day 4
Baker's Hill

Where we stayed:

Jurias Pension House in El Nido
Balay Inato Pension House in Puerto Princesa

Who to contact:

As much as I wanted to give you the contact detail of our driver in Puerto Princesa, I lost it when my phone got reformatted.

If ever I'll return to Palawan and there's no need for it to be entirely convenient a.k.a a senior citizen-friendly tour, I'll hire a tricycle to tour us around rather than join a group.

We got a little apprehensive when we read blog posts about getting the tour permit so to secure slots in the Underground River, we bought a tour package for four days. Availing one is fine if you're after convenience/ you don't have time to plan the itinerary of your trip.

But for those trying to minimize the cost, you may just book your accommodation and be the one to ask around for a cheaper tour package when you arrive in Palawan. It turned out that our tricycle driver can book us an Underground River Tour for 1.1k per person but the commercial rate of it is 1.5k + per person. Nakaka-kaba lang na wala kang datnan na tours o slots pero unless it's a super kaduper peak weekend/season/whatever, meron choices pag andun ka na. Marami.

Nga pala, even if you can find discounted rates, Palawan is a tourist-friendly place. They don't take advantage of the tourists since almost all rates are standardized. And, they have CCTV's so being on your own even after past midnight feels safe somehow. Hihi. Can't wait to experience Davao someday! :)

What to do:

We wanted to cover a lot of places for the four days that we were there. Again it is okay if you're after seeing more places in a limited time but definitely not something that I'll do if I return. Ayoko na ipagsiksikan kasi medyo nawala 'yung quality.

Kung El Nido. El Nido lang. Kung Puerto Princesa, Puerto Princesa lang. Balik na lang ulit if ever. Or sayang kasi talaga Day 1 dahil na-delay lang kami ng bongga. >.<  Mas okay 'yung kahit 2-3 tours man lang sa El Nido tas maliban sa Underground at Ugong e makapag-Ihawig Firefly Watching, Mangrove at City Tour din ganyan. Andun ka na oh. Pero actually kung walang delayed flight at marami kang budget, kaya 'to ng 5-7 days eh. El Nido saka Puerto Princesa.

Congratulations, Palawan for being the most beautiful island in the world! Kahit four days lang at kahit hindi pa namin nalibot lahat, nakita ko the reasons why you deserve the title for the nth time.

I want to be back someday especially since I'm looking forward to visiting Calamian Islands. Haaaaaaaay. :( As much as I wanted to believe there's more, this is probably my last flyout for 2015. Hahahaha. Or aasa pa rin akong meron?! Hahahahahahaha. Sige na, aasa pa rin. More pls!!!!! :))
