This place is huge and you can do a lot of things and see a lot of places while in this eco center but we were only there for a short time 'cause we only went there to look for pink muhly.

You can also see Pink Muhly in Daejeo Ecologica Park.

Imagine my "kilig" upon seeing these trees with then orange leaves. I was actually hoping for a legit fall experience in South Korea last year but my trip fell on dates that were too early for autumn and so trees like was still a rare sighting.

I don't know the name of the grass above but it's also one of the seasonal grasses you can see during fall.

PINK MUHLY!!!

While some can argue that there's nothing to see/ nothing special with this grass, I don't have autumn in my country so anything "seasonal" is my kind of thing especially when travelling in countries that have four different seasons.

Unlike the one in Daejeo, you can't go near the grasses in this area because of the rope fences everywhere.

This place is huge so make sure to allot at least half a day should you wish to look around more.

Will be flying back to Korea in October and I wish to see more autumn feels by then. hehe!

Said to be The Most Beautiful Temple in Korea and it has no entrance fee. <3

There are a lot of ways to get here and based on experience, travel directions and mode of transportation instructions from Google maps are reliable when in Korea.

However, the temple is quite a walk from this sign by the road so I think it should be better if you put NATIONAL FISHERIES AND RESEARCH as your destination. The downside of this though is you're coming from the right side of the temple instead of the main entrance where a lot of temple "must-see" are located.

On the picture above, that's the building of National Fisheries on the left.

From the entrance, you'll be greeted by big statues of zodiac animals. As if they're guarding the whole temple.

8 Story Pagoda

I went to this temple twice while I was living in Busan and it was always filled with people.

Worship Area

Golden Buddha

What's interesting in this part of Busan is that you'd see a lot of people in this part (temple) then if you continue walking towards the Fisheries building, the number of people decreases. If you'll continue walking towards the residential area then you'd barely see people and if you reach the white building (hotel), you'd encounter a lot of people again. I love Busan with it's crowded and peaceful areas. HAHAHAHA.

Seawater Great Goddess

She's facing the sea and very much a lot like Tin Hau/Ama Goddess Statue in the hill of Coloane, Macau.

Going to this part might be difficult especially for senior citizens 'cause the steps are quite steep, better stay at the lower part of the temple complex.

Wishing Pond

Most temples in South Korea are built on a mountain so it's no wonder why this temple, which is built on a seaside, is dubbed to be the most beautiful temple in Korea.

Note:
This is located East of Busan and a lot of people flock here to watch the sunrise especially during New Year's Day. If you're thinking of doing that, the best way is to hire a cab that will take you to the temple 'cause I don't think you'd have enough time to travel if you're taking the first trip of Busan Metro and bus.

Pictures below are taken on my second time in the temple. We were just coastal walking/hiking from Gijang Lotte Mart to Orangdae.

Not a lot of people pass by this area but you can actually hike/walk from Haedong Yonggungsa and you'd reach Haeundae area. If you're interested then you can message me anytime since I've walked on almost all the coastal trails in this area of Busan. :))

If you don't get tired of walking and coastal trails are your thing, you can start from this temple walking to Songjeong beach, Cheongsapo, Mipo, Haeundae, Dongbaekseom, Bay 101.

While this place is more frequented during Spring because of Cherry Blossoms and Rape Flowers, it's also interesting to go here during Autumn because of the pink muhly grass. I was looking through Instagram #Busan and then saw someone who posted pictures here and so we immediately went the next morning.

This is more than an hour away from Haeundae so we had to wake up ]early to get here. Just look at my eyes on the picture above and it's really one of my woke up like this mornings :)))

Kyoto? Soon? :)))

This is a huge Ecological Park so we weren't able to walk around a lot but you'll immediately notice that a lot of birds fly in this area eventhough I didn't take pictures of any.

Aside from the birds, we had the place to ourselves that morning. If only bicycle was an option. <3

We were actually looking for the elevated walkway atop the wetlands but we couldn't find any so we just proceded to the pink muhly area for some picture taking before going back to Haeundae.

Kinda like a less developed Han River Park of Seoul because you'll be walking along the Nakdong River.

We also went to Samnak Ecopark two days after for the same grass but it's not possible to take photos like the one above in Samnak because the field of pink muhly there has railings.

Unlike here where you can just find a bald spot and picture away. hahaha!

For people who live in a country where there is no autumn, foliage/seasonal flowers and grasses are already an attraction.

Pink in autumn, bright yellow in spring.

How to get here:
Get off at Gangseo-gu Office Station (Metro line 3) and go out exit 1 or 3.

On my second to the last morning in Busan (2018), I decided to just walk around Haeundae in the morning. I couldn't count the times I went in this area since it was just around ten minutes walk from where I lived but during each of those many times, it felt as if it was the first.

One of the attractions in Busan is called Moontan Road where you can find an old railway. They were rehabilitating this area last year and walking here should lead you to Cheongsapo / Cheongsapo Skywalk and Songjeong beach. Believe it or not but I walked on almost all the coastal walk in Busan because I was too lazy to find the nearest bus station and..... everywhere felt like they were walking distance and they were AT LEAST FOR ME. :)))

Moontan Road link: here.

The first time I went here I was alone but during this time, I came with a friend. During afternoon, you'd see a lot of couples here so it was much better visiting it in the morning. lol.

Facing the beach, Moontan Road is on the left so from left, we walked towards the right part of Haeundae - Hotel Chosun.

Okay so on this part of Haeundae, you'd see fishing boats (Yup, definitely Korean style) and there are several sashimi/ seafood restaurants along this stretch.

During mornings, you'd see ajummas and ajushi selling seafood freshly caught from the sea 'cause you'd see some still unloading from the boat.

We continued walking until we reached the beach proper of Haeundae.

You'd pass through buildings after buildings until you reach the wide sandy shore.

I believe this photo was taken around 9 AM but it looks like 6 AM because of the fog. Well, that's what your autumn morning looks like on most days when in Busan. Anyway, during summer, there should be umbrellas installed in this whole stretch which people can rent once they go swimming.

Haeundae Beach at Night

With Haeundae, I preferred hanging out there at night. You know, sitting on a scarf while listening to the waves drinking a bottle of soju. <3 I always thought that I liked the mountains more than the sea but turns out it's the same - I just haven't hung around much by the ocean before until Busan.

The walk started a bit farther than the three highrise buildings. The hill on the right is where moontan road is located.

Unlike this day, it was sunny the first time I walked here in Dongbaekseom.

Dongbaekseom Coastal Walk link: here.

This is a very east coastal walk and I don't even think it took us an hour to walk from here to Bay 101.

Bay 101 at night link: here.

And yes, it's a lot better to go to Bay 101 at night because the of the lights. I didn't really appreciate the buildings/view when I saw them during daytime.

We didn't want to walk all the way so we went back after taking pictures at the mermaid statue. Passing through this cafe in Westin Chosun, we heard that their music was nice to hang out to so we ordered a drink and just people watched for an hour before deciding to walk back to the apartment.

You know, and I think I've said it a couple of times by now, the reason why I'm so fond of Haeundae is because everywhere is walking distance. I feel deprived whenever I'm in Quezon City because there aren't really a lot of places to walk here where you have "nature" and where you won't have to fear for your life, if you know what I mean. Also, even if I wanted to walk around, the heat makes it unbearable on most days.

My friend pointed out that this building reminds her of New York's Flat Iron building. Never noticed that before but I still asked her to take my photo with it in the background. Never did I imagine that I'll be seeing the real flat iron building in NYC six months after this trip.

The main reason why I chose September - October to be the time of my trip was because I wanted to see the colors of Autumn and it turned out that I was a little bit early 'cause it was only during my last few days there did the leaves changed their color.

But still, autumn is autumn.

Still saw a lot of fall foliage in Seoul on my last day and I'm going back anyway so I hope I'd get the dates right this time. <3

Previously on Lucifer... :)) Char! This is one of the art installation pieces on the rooftop of Lotte Department Store Gwangbok Branch.

South Korea Travel Sim? Purchase yours here.

While Busan Tower is the usual To-Go place in BIFF area for that "overlooking," I personally find the view of Lotte Department Store's roof top a lot better than the tower. We went here on a cold autumn night so I always brought scarf with me.

I prefer the quietness of Haeundae area but Busan trip isn't complete unless you travel around this area. There's something about the busyness of this place that'd make you feel you're really in Busan - a port city.

The more famous bridge in Busan is Gwangandaegyo but Busan Harbor Bridge (above) is also a beautiful bridge especially when viewed at night. You can go to Cheonghak Waterside Park if you want a closer view of the bridge.

Busan nightlights are beautiful especially when you're on this side of the city. Not to mention that the rooftop is wide enough so you can see several parts of the city from there. I wanted to find the Namil Bar of Fight For My Way but didn't have time for that anymore, good thing the view here is almost the same - still a rooftop anyway.

There are a lot of viewing areas especially if you're into climbing mountains (Jangsan for example) but this place is good for people who don't like hiking but don't want to pay the entrance fee of Busan Tower. lol

See you again soon! <3
