We had another ticket for an unlimited KTX ride from Busan so instead of riding the train straight to Seoul, we decided to side trip in Gyeongju first. We didn't have a lot of time since we needed to be back in Seoul at 7 PM again.

We didn't get to eat breakfast at the hotel and we wanted to try something that originated here in Gyeongju but it was too early that the restaurants in the station were still closed. We didn't have enough time to go around the city area to look for restaurants so we went with our savior - convenience store kimbap. 😂

This was 3,500 KRW.
Not bad.

I had a bottled water with me back then so this was all I bought for that morning.

We also put our stuff in the lockers so we don't have to carry all those around in the temple. The rent for a locker was 6,000 KRW but my friend and I were able to fit all our stuff in one so we only paid 3,000 KRW each. Also, we reserved seats for the train ride from Gyeongju to Seoul before exiting the station.

For the bus fare from Singyeongju to Bulguksa, I wasn't able to take note of it since I always use my T-money and just reload 10,000 KRW everytime I run out of money there.

Infairness to me, writing about this now doesn't bring me pain anymore. HAHAHA! I'm supposed to be in South Korea again for Autumn 2020 but yep, stuck here in PH slowly trying to find (the meaning of) life. 😂

I'm back to saying this again but I don't know when and I don't know how but I'm returning to you one day, SK! 💖

We spent several minutes outside the station because of the trees and while waiting for the Singyeongju - Bulguksa bus # 700. There's a direct route so getting lost isn't a problem.

I surely would love to go back here one day and explore more of the city center. There are definitely a lot more attractions here in Gyeongju aside from Bulguksa. Needed to sacrifice 'cause of time constraints.

The travel time from Gyeongju to Seoul via KTX is 2 hours and 10 minutes.

I forgot what time we went back to Singyeongju but we arrived in Seoul before 7 PM.

Ahahahaha. 'Yan pala itsura ko last year. 😂 This was last October, that trip that I waited for before doing/joining CGM so yeah, the last lakwatsa... last with rebonded hair lang ah, hindi last lakwatsa talaga. Wag namannnnnn. 😆😆😆

10 Months in CGM

****

Some parts of our lives don't work out the way we want to but those things don't have to define who we're becoming. Okay lang to go with the flow kung hindi natin makita ang bigger picture. This is all a chapter in my journey so I'm trusting this path wherever this may lead.

Hehehehe! Kasi kasi kasi, will begin again. 💖

Pink Muhly in Nakdong River Estuary, Busan

Pink Muhly in Daejeo Ecological Park, Busan

I was tagged this photo the other day from one of my friends I met in Busan 2018. This is what I was talking about when I made a photo essay about Busan before link: here. Their memories of Busan have me in it and mine has them in it - 'cause at one point, it was a shared lives and memories for us. I replied in a DM after I reposted this and I told her, "Wish we could go back to the time when all we did was travel, eat and wait until our shift ends so we can go back to travelling and eating."

I suddenly miss them. 🥺 This is the price I pay for knowing and getting close with people in more than one place. 🥺 This is the sad part of loving people far away from you talaga, noh. 🥺
I want to give them big and tight hugs but we're miles away. I reached a point when the world felt small but bumalik na naman sa parang anlayo at ang hirap gawin ng lahat. Haaaay! 🥺
For now, this is me hoping that we'll all get our sincere smiles back.

Life, ito na po ba 'yung "Good old days?" HAHAHAHA. Kahit maraming tanong at hindi sigurado (?), andito pa rin 'yung walang hanggang pasasalamat (!) at moving forward kasi umaasa na life is going to get better from here. This is still an unfinished journey (...), our life isn't over yet (;).

We came all the way here; even so, we have to move further (and farther para sa mga kapwa wanderlust 😁).
To be continued...
What may come next?

I've written a post about Gwangan Bridge in 2019. That was a thorough guide/ description already so I don't know what I am supposed to write here since the other post has all the details I can think of.

We were looking for GUKBAP but to no avail. I was confident that we were going to find a GUKBAP restaurant in Busan since it was everywhere in Jangsan, Haeundae but we didn't find any in Gwangan. But yeah, Doenjang Jjigae is always a good idea. A good enough idea if there's no GUKBAP in sight.

Photo above for GUKBAP (Korean Pork Bone Rice Soup) reference. This was in a restaurant somewhere in Haeundae 2018. My mouth's watering at the sight of this photo. HAHAHA!

It's one of my favorite Korean food but it's not that famous internationally unlike samgyeopsal, kimbap, etc. I can't make it here in PH because according to one recipe that I've read, you're supposed to simmer the soup for 8-12 hours. Dahil dyan, exclusive Korea lang siya. lol.

This bridge is an icon of Busan so it's definitely a must-visit.

One thing that I love about in Busan and I've told this for so many times, is that beaches and mountains are nearby. I mean, on days or on nights when you just want to sit by the shore and watch the ocean waves or climb a mountain, it's very convenient and cheap to go.

EDIT 2022: Lout of the Count's Family Web Novel

I read the web novel above and I kinda felt "kilig" that I've been in Gwangan Bridge and Seomyeon before. lol. Kahit monster attack 'yung nasa kwento.

BIFF / Nampo Area link: here.

This place is also famous for the street food and the night market. A lot like Seoul's Myeongdong only this is a lot less crowded.

A lot of tourists choose this vicinity when searching for hotels since this is kinda the center of Busan. But if you're into night life/club hopping, then the best place to be checking in is in Seomyeon. When we were out there partying, we had several nights turned mornings that we had to wait for the subway's first trip at around 5:30 AM. The travel time to Haeundae takes more than an hour kaya dumadating kami sa dorm ng breakfast na kinakain ng mga tao. TMI e noh. Pero wala lang, fun times. HAHAHA!

Busan Tower and Yongdusan Park link: here.

If you don't wanna pay, the rooftop of the nearby Lotte Department Store (Gwangbok Branch) is a good alternative to see the skyline of this part of Busan link: here.

These neon signs lined along the escalator and the staircase of Busan Tower and Yongdusan are new addition to the area. They feature the different tourist spots of Busan.

Back to our hotel we go... <3

I don't know if you can see the LCD projection on the wall but a restaurant there hosts an outdoor movie watching at night.

South Korea Trip
Autumn 2019
Seoul - Jeonju - Busan - Gyeongju - Seoul
Overview Link: HERE.

From Nampo-dong area, there's a bus you can ride that will drop you off directly at the main entrance of Taejongdae. It took us about an hour to get to the park from Nampo.

This can be a half-day tour or a full day especially if you want to hike instead of riding Danubi to get to the rocky seaside cliffs. There's no entrance fee to enter this place so the only thing you'd pay here is if you're riding the Danubi train to get to the different stops inside the park.

Danubi Train

It was a weekend when we went here so there were a lot of people. I remember seeing this place from a photo a friend of mine showed me and he was the only one riding the train that time - he went on a weekday afternoon.

I miss seeing this view in person. <3

Again, the main reason I love Busan is the easy access to beaches and mountains and yet you're still in the city. Some place can get crowded and then you have places like this where you can see the vast ocean and lush forest.

We decided to go to the farthest stop first and walk back towards the lighthouse so we can explore the different points of interests.

This is Gumyongsa Temple. There's a walkway here that is lined with Hydrangea so imagine visiting here when all those are in full bloom.

The stairs was a bit steep but it was easy to descend. Autumn weather is perfect for this kind of activities.

As soon as we saw this, we already decided that we'll eat here not even knowing what they serve. Ang ganda kasi nung setting. Overlooking the ocean. Hehe

We saw that they serve this South Korea delicacy called Ssan Nakji or live octopus. We were hesitant at first but our curiosity won so we ordered. I think we spent 20,000 KRW (around 1,000 PHP) for this. It was our first time eating this and buti na lang we tried kasi nga hindi na alam kailan makakabalik. :))))

Eating the octopus felt weird in the mouth 'cause it still wriggles/movies but it was definitely interesting. My friend and I both eat sashimi so eating something like this wasn't really of a shocker - 'yung gumagalaw lang kasi talaga sa bibig.

Some days, people are allowed to walk at that part.

Maka-picture lang, lahat lalakarin. :))) Kahit nabasa 'yang pang patong ko kasi na-dip sa water so I had to change clothes before going to our next stop.

Sinseon Rocks or the part of this resort where you are able to walk along the high seaside cliffs was closed that day so we had to just make it work somewhere else. Hahaha! Seaside cliff pa rin naman 'yan.

Love you forever, BUSAN!!!!!!!

Across is Haeundae, my home away from home. Still kilig whenever I see that skyline even in photos. I can't wait to be back! <3

Yeongdo Lighthouse

It was easy to descend but it took us a lot of time to ascend, we were perspiring like crazy because that was an intense exercise. nyahahaha! We rode the Danubi train back to the entrance.

If you get hungry after the "hike," there are several Mat-Jib/restaurants lined outside the park.

We found out that Super Junior will be one of the performers of Busan One Festival a week before our flight but we couldn't purchase tickets online. However, on the day before the event, we saw a post that they'd be selling concerts tickets on site. Despite the lack of sleep and tiredness from all the travels the day before (Manila - Seoul - Jeonju - Seoul - Busan), we woke up early to get to Hwamyeong.

Parang Lee Min Ho memories lang 'to last winter eh. Only fangirls would understand.:))

Hwamyeong Ecological Park

There is no train station near it so we had to ride a bus then walk for around 20 minutes to get to this entrance but it turned out that the park was too big that we needed to walk for another 30 minutes to get to the concert grounds.

Hwamyeong is a lot like Daejeo Ecological Park that I visited last year for pink muhly hunting.. only Hwamyeong from the bus station to the concert grounds wasn't an enjoyable walk 'cause we were rushing and were too stressed to focus on the beauty of the surroundings. lol.

We got our tickets at around 12 NN. We finally became a lot calmer with tickets on our hand. lol. Like what I've said in the previous post, I don't have a group that I "stan" but I like watching KPOP concerts whenever I am in Korea. And since my friend is an ELF, damay damay na lang. :))

Hwamyeong Ecological Park, Busan

Photos here are just those I took while we were killing time 'cause we decided to stay in the area the whole afternoon because going out the park is a loooooot of walk.

Hwamyeong Ecological Park, Busan

It was only this afternoon did we noticed that it was actually fun to walk around the park. HAHA! Sorry for all the complaints that morning, Hwamyeong. :))

These photos were taken around the concert area but there should be a lot more to see since this park is humongous.

Feel na feel ang hair flip 'cause this is the last travel where I'll be sporting a rebonded hair. haha! I am currenly exploring the world of CGM (curly girl method) but that's for another post - hopefully by New Year.

Hwamyeong Ecological Park, Busan

Bike lanes everywhere for this park.

Hwamyeong Ecological Park, Busan

Still wasn't able to time the peak of autumn for the year 2019. My Korean visa will only be until January 2021. Let's see if I'll be able to go back and time the perfect view of the autumn foliage.
Hwamyeong Ecological Park, Busan

This was already near the place where concert goers were linking up and so we queued soon after.

Even the autumn flowers weren't in full bloom yet.

Hwamyeong Ecological Park, Busan BOF

But yea, it's always my pleasure to see you, Busan! <3
