After Haedong Yonggung Sa, we continued walking towards Orangdae. While there is a bus that ply this route, we decided to just walk along the coast. Busan weather during autumn is very conducive for hiking anyway.

We brought snacks with us and good thing we found this pavilion by the beach. Made our convenience store snacks much more delicious - this view.

If you're walking along this side of Busan coasts, you'll have a lot of places like this but worry not 'cause the trails aren't dangerous - they're actually well-paved. Okay, aside from the occasional yellow and black garden spiders in some coniferous trees, everything else is fine.

It's not that small but pictures of it make it look smaller.

This is another shooting location of Fight For My Way. Little Dongman, Aera, and Sulli were shown
playing in this area.

Namil Villa
Ilgwang Beach

Rugged stones before reaching Orangdae.

500 KRW kinda gives you an idea on the size of this Buddha in real life.

What you'll see inside.

You won't really see a lot of attractions in this area but this is famous especially during New Year's Day.

A lot of people camp out in this area to wait for the sunrise. The sun rises beside Orangdae and it's a great view with all the rugged rocks and ocean waves.

I think that this is Busan's version of Myeongdong. Not only can you find a lot of stores and hotels, there's Busan Tower and Yongdusan Park in the middle which is a lot like Seoul's Namsan Tower.

ANYWAY,

South Korea Travel Sim? Purchase yours here.

Aside from the stalls in the middle, you have three markets in this area namely: Gukje, Kkangtong, and Jagalchi.

Above is what they call "Let's Eat Alley"

You sit in one of the stools and eat ajumma's simple yet delicious meal. I ate here once and here I was able to eat the best spicy fish cake I've had so far. haha!

If eating in the alley is not your thing, you can definitely find something that will tickle your fancy here. Actually, if you're only spending a night or two in Busan the I suggest that you find a hotel in this area 'cause this is the best spot to experience Busan. If you're into club parties though, you'll be better off staying in Seomyeon.

This is the most famous hotteok in Busan.

You can easily spot them 'cause they're the only hotteok stall that has long lines almost all the time.

Lots of streetfood but definitely cheaper than the ones in Myeongdong. Odeng costs 2,000 KRW in Seoul but it's only 500 KRW in Busan. Dito lang magagawa 'yung kanto kain na Kim Bok Joo style karami.

Alleys and alleys of restaurants, cosmetics and clothing shops.

This is where it gets confusing for me 'cause for the many times that I went to this area - I didn't notice where Gukje Market ends and where Kkangtong starts.

One great difference of the two parallel markets is that Gukje stalls sell different things while Kkangtong is usually different kinds of food.

I didn't get the name of this place but it's what they consider a MAT JIB. The servings are huge but they didn't cost a lot. There wasn't a line when we arrived but the restaurant was packed and just after around 10 minutes there was already a long line of customers at the door.

I don't have photos of Jagalchi Market but if you're into eating fresh seafood then that's the market to go to. They said that Busan trip won't be complete without visiting Jagalchi - and while I've gone there once, I go on a fish market in the Philippines frequently that going to Jagalchi felt like work so I never returned after that one time even if I was always in Nampo. HAHAHA!

APEC 나루 공원.

When we were in BEXCO, we noticed the leaves of the trees were already turning red and yellow and so we allotted another day to return to the area; this was the opening day of Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) last year.

Since this foliage was the main reason why I wanted to go to Korea, I ended up booking an earlier flight so it was only around a week before returning to the Philippines did the leaves started to change colors in Busan.

Still something though 'cause the last time I was in Korea was winter and you can't even see a lot of leaves on trees. :))

Seeing pink muhly here was the reason why we looked for a bigger place where we can see the grass. There's a more famous place in Gyeongju but we didn't have enough time to go there so good thing we found the pink muhly field in Daejeo Ecological Park link: here.

This park isn't huge but it's a beautiful space beside a river. I am not sure but I think this is a part of Galmaet Gil.

Evergreens and Fall Foliage <3

It's fun to ride a bicycle in this area 'cause it feels a lot like Yeouido Han Gang Park.

Aside from Busan Cinema Center, you can find a Lotte Department Store and Shinsegae in the area. Probably after shopping then you can head out to this area and relax. hehe! Also, don't miss roof of the cinema center that lights up at night.

This was taken during one of the nights of BIFF - the people at the background are waiting for a movie screening 'cause that's the venue of the open theater.

This post will include the following places:

Busan Station
Busan Chinatown
Shopping King Louis Shooting Location/ Viewpoint
Ebagu Crafts Workshop
Geum Su Sa (?)
Skyway Observatory
Yoo Chi-Wan Postbox Observatory

An afternoon when I decided to explore this part of Busan just because. :)) Central Busan is very much different from Haeundae area so walking around here was also interesting 'cause you get to see the contrast even if they're only around 50 minutes away when riding the metro.

Very easy to spot because of the arch but I wasn't feeling hungry so I just looked around and continued walking.

While you can't download an offline map in Google maps when in Korea, you can screenshot the place you're going to and hope for the best. haha! Though this only applies to people who don't rent wifi and don't buy sim cards like me.

I've seen Shopping King Louis but the impact wasn't the same with Fight For My Way that I didn't even realize that some parts of that drama were shot in Busan.

This is the Busan most people see when watching Korean drama. I also initially wanted to choose this place when looking for my accommodation but it's a good thing I chose Haeundae. However, if you're visiting Busan for less than three days then this area, Nampo, or Seomyeon would be the best locations if you're looking for a place to stay.

I just continued walking around since there were signs pointing to where the viewing areas are. I was alone when I went here but since there were a lot of bus stops, it wasn't scary to get lost.

The next place that caught my attention was Yoo Chi Hwan View Point and so I followed the sign without thinking that the place might be far from where I was. Hahaha!

I continued walking uphill and when it already became too tiring, I initially gave up and just looked for a bus stop.

Before reaching the bus stop, I saw this staircase decorated with lantern and this leads to a temple. I decided to check what's up there.

No one was there but a dog escorted me inside.

I was surprised when I saw these statues 'cause I thought there were real people at first lol

Until now I am not sure what the name of this temple is but in the map there's a place called geum su sa.

Continued walking since I followed the direction to the post box and then I saw this walkway. The reason why I climbed the stairs was because I saw a public restroom, but then I decided to just continue walking here rather than go back down the streets where the cars are.

And then in one of the signs, I saw that this place is called Skyway Observatory. It's not a huge place when you look at it from here but there's a staircase leading to the mountain.

I was thinking of waiting for the sunset in this place but there were a lot of mosquitoes so I decided to continue walking and looking for the postbox.

And so I reached this place <3

I know he's a poet who died in this area so they built this as a tribute but the main reason I wanted to reach this place was the view.

After this place, I went to the nearest bus stop and rode one that brought me back to Busan Station.

Another Fight For My Way Drama shooting location in Busan; Ilgwang Beach

I had nothing to do that afternoon so I decided to go to Ilgwang Beach. Getting here was easy from Haeundae 'cause it's just a train transfer in BEXCO.

You can look at the travel time in Google Map or download a Busan Metro App.

That boat like structure is where they set-up the stage in one of the scenes of Fight For My Way. Choi Aera was a replacement emcee for the program. Tbh, I was a bit disappointed upon seeing this place.

But then I remembered that a typhoon just hit Busan the weekend before which may be an excuse for all the garbage along the shore here in Ilgwang 'cause the clutter wasn't normal in the other beaches but then Dadaepo beach also has this garbages and I visited them on the same week.

There's a wood walkway. You'd see a lot of walkways like this along the coast of Busan.

Now do you remember what else took place at this beach?

Yep, the first kiss of Dong Man and Aera happened here. <3 I was looking forward to having a drink in this cafe but it was closed when I went here. -_-
