via Cebu Pacific

December 1 - December 5

It was only three days of touring; the other two were the days of flight MNL - TPE and TPE - MNL

December 1 - 11:40 PM - Departure
December 2 - 2:05 AM Arrival

December 5 - 4:00 AM - Departure
December 5 - 6:25 AM - Arrival

---

For this itinerary, there will be no tiring activities nor fast-paced travel. We took our time in each attraction which is the reason why we were only able to visit a few sites. Turns out, overtime, that kind of travel is our style. Not too many attractions cramped in one day.

Day 1

Arrival at Taoyuan Airport and straight to Taipei Main Station

Klook Exclusive: Taipei 101 Observatory E-Ticket and J&G Fried Chicken Combo Package in Taipei
Taipei Jiufen English Walking Tour
Taipei 101 Observatory E-Ticket in Taipei

*We didn't have a hotel room upon arrival so we just placed our luggages in one of the lockers in Taipei Main Station.

*Purchase an MRT card before starting to travel because that'll save you time especially on train rides.

Why Taiwan?

1.They currently lifted the visa requirement for Filipinos until 2019!!
2. My first time riding a high speed rail (bullet train). On our ride back to Taipei City, we made sure that we have food to eat while riding the train. Just because <3
3. Travelling is very convenient and it's a tourist-friendly country without the shortage of signs written in their language and in English.
4. I was determined not to get scammed this time (attn: Cambodia tourists haha) but that was needless worrying on my part 'cause we didn't feel taken advantage of while in Taiwan. We were even the one who got shy because of the helpfulness and hospitality of the Taiwanese people.
5. My first time seeing koala and panda
6. Affordable cable car ride that has crystal glass bottom. I've ridden several cable cars already and Maokong Gondola is my favorite so far.
7. A lot of things to do and places to visit no matter what kind of traveler you are.
8. No need to be over protective of your stuff while travelling. Of course, you need to use common sense pero hindi divisoria/recto levels ng paghawak sa gamit. hehe!
9. Taoyuan Airport is not in the city but easily accessible via MRT, buses, and taxis.
10. FOOD TRIP! MILK TEA! You won't get hungry because there are a lot of restaurants, food stalls, and convenience stores.

This post will include Ximending Night Market, our accommodation while in Taiwan, Taipei 101, Ximending in the morning.

After strolling in Maokong Village, we headed back to Taipei Main Station to get our things from the locker. From there, we decided to just ride a cab to Ximending.

I suggest, however, upon booking your accommodation to locate it on google map. There's a nearby train station there so it's also convenient and cheaper if you're not travelling in group.

We booked Cozy Room in Agoda. There isn't a sign. We were able to locate the address but couldn't find the room and we weren't able to contact Rex beforehand so he didn't know what time we were coming.

The lady from the souvenir store helped us contact Rex so we waited in her store for around 20 minutes.

We were supposed to go out after settling down but we were all exhausted that we immediately slept.. and poof, it's the next day already. :))

GUSTO KO LANG NAMAN SA BUHAY E MAGING INNIS FREE!!!!! HAHAHAHA.

Above is the picture that I've always wanted to take eversince Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. hahaha!

Fast forward, I'm now using Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Loose Powder now. Link: here.

Taipei's Ximending feels so much like South Korea's Myeongdong.

Early in the morning, most of the stores are closed and there aren't a lot people. Much different from the lively crowd it has in the evening.

We were thinking of going to the Starbucks of Taipei 101 but the need for reservation was a big factor that's why we didn't do it. It was only during our waiting time for the train to Ruifang did we have the time to go to this area. This picture was taken just outside the train station.

At night, when Ximending Night Market is on going. You'll see vendors of clothes, souvenirs and food lined up along the street.

Love this Xiao Long Bao breakfast day with Park Seo Joon oppa. HAHAHA!!

After leaving our things at a locker and eating breakfast, we rode the red line to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall.

Make sure to buy a transportation card before your trip 'cause that will save you the hassle of having to compute your fare and buying a single journey ticket every time.

The complex is just two stations away from Taipei Main Station when riding the red line.

This should've been just a quick stop but it was raining so we had to wait and sit at the concert halls  first while waiting.

National Palace Museum E-Ticket

You can witness the changing of guards ceremony in Chiang Kai Shek. It's an hourly activity there.

I wasn't sure if it was proper to take a selfie here, it's a memorial hall after all but the others were doing it and so I did.

While waiting for the rain to stop, we watched people doing yoga, muay thai, dancing and other things. This place is like Quezon City's Quezon Memorial Circle... only it's rectangle and wider and cleaner. :)))

I was looking forward to having my photo taken with this gate but boy, it was bigger than expected.

The rain didn't completely stop but we decided to go back to the train station because we can't allow it to delay us any further. From there, we rode the red line to transfer to brown line which took us directly to the entrance of Taipei Zoo.
