Nelson Ghost Town, Nevada

San punta? :))
I don't know much about this place's history other than this used to be an area rich in gold, silver, copper, and lead. Ghost towns are usually towns that used to be prosperous but are now deserted.

Nelson Ghost Town, Nevada

When I heard that we were once again going to a ghost town, I felt frightened for a bit 'cause I was reminded of the other ghost town that we visited in Death Valley National Park before.

Rhyolite Ghost Town link: here.

Anyway, this place is located in El Dorado Canyon, Clark County, Nevada.

This is a great photospot if you're into IG feed goals. Time stopped at this place too but unlike other ghost towns you'd see in Nevada - this place isn't a bit eerie. I don't know. It's probably because of the mountainous backdrop that even if this place has been deserted for decades, it wasn't scary at all. A lot like an outdoor musuem/filming location of a Wild West themed movie for me.

I don't know if you can use these picnic tables but just in case you're going here, it's best to bring drinks and food with you 'cause I don't think there are stores or restaurants in the vicinity.

You can join a mine tour for $15 per pax if you want to learn more about the place's history or want to see the gold mines. For us though, our day was packed that time so we just opted to walk around and take photos by ourselves.

Grateful for friends who freed their schedule to tour me around Nevada.... again. :)) Memories that I'll cherish forever. hehe.

This kinda reminded me of the movie "Cars." This place is kinda like Radiator Springs which is also a rundown desert town with a mountainous backdrop.

Other places to visit if you're tired of the LV strip (LOL):

There's a cliff jumping area called Nelson's Landing that is along the Colorado River but I haven't posted about it yet.

I've passed through this area countless times but I never knew that a lot of people have been doing target shooting behind the mountains in the desert along Interstate 15.

Seven Magic Mountain Link: Here.

My friend brought me here after going to the seven magic mountains. I'm not sure where this place is exactly. There are rules regarding the distance of where you're target shooting and the interstate. My friend is a security personnel in a hotel in Las Vegas strip so he's trained and careful enough that I agreed to do this there.

No clean ups.

You'd see magazines of different guns in the area.

Anyway, I've always thought that no one goes to this area. Turns out a lot of people do.

We were targeting bottles of water the entire time.

Proud of myself for being able to shoot several targets. HAHAHA!

Not the first time I held a gun and did target shooting. Had the chance to do this back in high school which is already ten years ago.... time flies..... who would've thought I'll be able to go to the states twice in this decade. lol. drama. next decade ulet, sayang multiple-entry. haha

I lived in Las Vegas in 2016 so I always passed by I-15 but I never had the chance to go nearer before. It was constructed sometime in May 2016 so not a lot of people have been going there yet that time, probably the reason why we didn't go is 'cause we didn't know more information about it. Can't remember. Haha!

USA 2016: Red Rock Canyon Conservation, Nevada

FYI: I-15 is the interstate is the highway that runs through several states from California to the Intermountain West. (Nevada. Montana, Utah, Arizona and Idaho)

For the Seven Magic Mountains, you can find this art installation along the California - Las Vegas segment of the I-15. Although it is a lot closer to the latter than the former.

I was told that it was only supposed to be there until 2018 but it was extended until the end of 2021. So there, made sure to visit it the last time I was in Vegas.

I didn't expect the boulder pillars to be that tall. They were around 30 feet in height!

I was looking at my post about my last day in Las Vegas four years ago and man, hindi pa rin ako makapaniwalang nakabalik ako. To think na magi-isang taon na 'to bago ko na-post dito. :)))

See you again, my love link: here.

Best to come out here in the morning to avoid the crowd. There were a lot of people that time so we weren't able to take lots of photos.

I was watching the Korean movie, "Tune in for Love" in Netflix when I saw this as one of the shooting locations. I immediately searched my blog and it was only then did I realize that I haven't posted this here yet.

We visited this place February 2019, just never had the chance to blog about it until now. Two Days, One Night Season 3 was still showing/broadcasting during this time so I was really looking forward to visiting this building back then.

BTW 2D1N is back on broadcast again for its season 4. I miss Cha Tae Hyun but I'm slowly getting used to the new members and of course, Kim Jong Min is still there so I still watch it every week.

It was the Chinese New Year Holiday so not a lot of establishments were open. There was a VR musuem but yeah, it was closed that day. Would've entered had I known that my favorite variety show would get discontinued months after this. :((

2 Days, 1 Night.... you're missed... you're really missed. :((

KBS Cool FM

We chanced upon the live broadcast of KBS' Cool FM and you can watch the DJ from the glass window.

Saranghaeyo, Moon Hee Joon!

Here is Jamjam's appa while working. Tbh, I don't know who he was until he joined Return of Superman. I don't watch it all the time like 2D1N but I've been waiting for clips of his daughter - theirs is the only part that I watch.

After walking around the building, we continued walking towards Saetgang Overpass.

This is one of the shooting locations of Fight For My Way as well.

Not a long overpass but interesting design. You can take photos with the building of Yeouido at the background.

I tried to look for this bridge during my first time in Seoul but got lost because there's a train station called Saetgang and I thought it was around that area - one of the nearest station here would be Singil station if you're not coming from KBS.

I think I'd need more warm clothes since I'm going back in January for another winter trip. Hahaha! Kakahinayang kasi mag-invest for outfits. :)))

If you go down the bridge, you'll enter Saetgang Ecology Park.

There wasn't a lot to see that time since the trees have already lost their leaves and it hasn't snowed for days so we had neither autumn foliage nor winter snow. HAHA!

Still a nice place to walk around and take photos though especially since we don't have winter in our country. I've only seen places in Seoul during winter so going back there last month I was kinda feeling weird during the first few hours 'cause I was seeing leaves on the trees. lol

Currently Watching: Crash Landing On You <3

Station: Eungbong Station, exit 1

Eungbongsan, Seoul Winter 2020

I kept on thinking that I should post more of my different travels the past months and not just those places from South Korea, but then I'd see one place in a drama that I'm currently watching and then here it goes, a blog post about it. I'm scheduling another post which will include the KBS building 'cause I saw Jamjam's appa (The Return of Superman) there before. Saranghaeyo, Moon Hee Joon! HAHAHA.

Not that this was a scene in Crash Landing On You per se, but it's one of the places I noticed in the intro video whenever it's played in Netflix. Took a photo of it which will be uploaded last on this photo set.

Going to the pagoda is easy if only we didn't take the longer route to get there. It has an elevation of 95.3 meters and there's a staircase so it's easy to get to the top. From the train station, all you have to do is walk straight to the staircase.

Eungbongsan, Seoul Winter 2020

But despite the map that we had in our phones, we still took a wrong turn and ended up walking the longer way. But yeah, it was because of that that we saw this bridge.

Eungbongsan, Seoul Winter 2020

The staircase from the wall climbing wall was pretty steep so we rested for a while before continuing our "hike." Went there last January so it was freezing and we had this very heavy coats on so it was more challenging than usual. lol.

Eungbongsan, Seoul Winter 2020

We got to the pagoda eventually.

This should be a familiar view especially to people who've watched a lot of Kdramas. Scenes in "Weightlifting Kim Bok Joo," "Are You Human?" were filmed here as well.

Eungbongsan, Seoul Winter 2020

It was noon when we got here and no one else was there. Haha. There are a lot of crowded places in Seoul but then you'd still be able to find places that doesn't have a lot of people especially if you're travelling on a weekday.

Here was a sign that this place is a photo spot but didn't know how the photo should look like. lol.

Namsan Tower

Eungbongsan, Seoul Winter 2020

Going up the pagoda is not allowed.

I remembered eating kimbap in of the pagodas I saw in Busan before.

Eungbongsan, Seoul Winter 2020

I still get excited for South Korea trips.

It's still a happy place and I think that it will always be. <3

So from here, Seoul Forest is just across the river. We again, took the long turn, but if you're going to SF then that pedestrian bridge is the one you should look for.

I've seen photos of this staircase in spring and autumn but yeah, I haven't experienced going around Seoul during those two seasons. Haha. This is the Seoul that's familiar to me. Seoul during winter. <3 I can use another week-long Seoul trip next year. HAHAHA! Well, my three years visa would expire next year but I am thinking of renewing.

Eungbongsan, Seoul Winter 2020

If you're on the right track, this is what the staircase should look like when going up to Eungbongsan.
