I was talking with a friend one night and the next thing we knew, we were driving to Antipolo's Cloud 9 Sports and Leisure Club the next day. Link: HERE. There were a lot of couples in that place and it was uncomfortable so we decided to find another cafe.

The view in that second cafe was beautiful - kinda like a perfect place to watch Metro Manila sunset. We stayed for a few hours to wait for the sunset and then the planning for this Masungi Georeserve Tour happened.

It took several months before our plan came into fruition so my hair is a lot longer in the pictures below. He did all the coordinating and planning thus I have no idea how we got a slot. You'd need to reserve your slot beforehand and schedules get full fast especially during weekends.

Refer to their website for more information link: here.

We did the Discovery Trail.

A bit tiring but definitely can be done even if you have no experience in mountain climbing yet. By the way, some parts can get steep and scary especially if you have fear of heights. I think the whole trek only lasted around four hours and it was done on a leisurely pace.

I didn't take a lot of photos of the view 'cause I preferred to sight-see more than take photos. Thanks to my friend for taking my photos so I have several to upload here.

The guide was thorough and knowledgeable in her explanations of the different things/areas that you can find in the georeserve. She was also attentive to all of us especially during the rope courses.

I remember that on the part of the trail before this, we were asked to keep quiet and lessen the noise we make while walking just so we can hear the "sounds" of the mountain.

I love those "moments." I live for those kinds of walk. I may get scared easily (kasi baka may mumu HAHAHA) but never while walking in the mountains. HAHAHA!

That part, albeit being a short segment of this whole trek, was healing. Reminded me a lot of my solo nature walks in Busan.

HAHAHA!

These rope courses are there for the adventure but more importantly, they're built so foot traffic or the people won't be intrusive at the natural rock formations and trees/plants in the area. You get to see the georeserve without harming it. Tama ba 'yang sinasabi ko?

Doon. Doon ako next. HAHA!

This place is really Instagrammable but make sure to hang on tightly on the rope for your safety.

Take extra care of your valuables as well 'cause I don't think they can be retrieved once they fall. Ang tataas kasi talaga nung mga bato.

This is my favorite part of the georeserve. If only we were allowed to stay longer there, I definitely would. Parang ang saya mag stargazing sa ganito. Pag bangon mo puro na linya katawan. Nyahaha!

You can't stay for a long time since you're going to cause traffic for others but time allotted per area is enough to take decent photos.

Yungib Ni Ruben

This is a cave formation that smells sooooooo good because they lighted up scented candles inside. Reminds me a bit of Cagayan's Callao Cave .

ANG GANDA!!!!!!! <3

Taken from the area called TATAY - the highest peak in the georeserve.

It won't always be this way. Mahirap at nakakaubos ng lakas at pasensiya mga nangyayari sa'tin ngayon but let us have comfort in knowing that it won't always be this way.

In my element

I've been talking with some of my friends and we've shortlisted Philippine destinations already. May mga bundok sa listahan. YESSS! Exciting days ahead... mga next year! HAHAHA! Gagala ulit at Pinas muna. To more mountains soon! <3

They call this place NANAY.

This place consists of five limestone rocks which are inteconnected by bridges such as the one I am standing on above.

This is the way down. The longest and steepest rope course.

It wasn't scary, just take your time on your way down. Hahaha!

End of the trek.

We hung out for several minutes here before going back to the starting point.

This is what you get for listening to your tour guide.
The package includes snacks and refreshments after the trek. While eating, the guide asked several questions and I was able to answer one. O diba, active. HAHAHA!

After COVID when it feels safe to travel and when our finances are back to normal, let's prioritize touring around the Philippines in order to jumpstart the tourism industry. The pandemic has taken its toll on the Philippine Tourism so let's support our own before travelling abroad.

Photos from that one afternoon we spent walking along Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. This place is one of the most famous tourist attractions in L.A. I remember the first time I went here, I was culture shocked. I mean, Vegas was shocking but this was even more shocking... the people walking there were the ones that were shocking to be fair - not the place entirely.

TCL Chinese Theatre

This place is also famous for the handprints, footprints, autographs, and notes on the cement floor outside the theatre. There were a lot of people in this area so we just took photos and left.

It feels a lot different to walk here during day light... for that "Hollywood feels," it'll better to visit at night. It was crazy with all the people back when I visited here at night but yeah, I'd rather be here during the day 'cause I'm not fond of crowded places since I can't take decent photos. NYAHAHA!

Hollywood Boulevard at night link: here.
HAHAHAHAHA! OMG?! Kakaiba 'yung nag sulat nung night post way back 2016. Bakit siya ganon?! Cringe worthy. Nice to know remember.

Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles (Hollywood Sign) link: here.

Walking along this Hollywood Walk of Fame, there will be a lot of tour promoters that would sell you tours around Los Angeles. I don't think they're expensive so if you don't have your own transportation but want to see more of L.A then you can start looking for group tours that you can join here.

I don't know a lot of actors and actresses but I always look for Christina Aguilera's star. HAHA

“Maybe it’s hard to believe what’s with my obvious charm and good looks but people used to think that I was a monster. And for a long time… I believe them. But after a while, you learn to ignore the names people calling you. You just trust who you are.” – Shrek

Madame Tussaud's labas again. I don't want to pay entrance fee so just took photos with the wax figures outside.

This wax museum has several branches all around the world. I've seen Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum LABAS again of the branches in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, San Francisco, New York, and Las Vegas.

Yes, Zac Efron? Pakapit naman sa arm mo. HAHAHA!

Zac's Backdrop is the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica Beach link: here.

Kinilig din ako rito sa post na 'to kasi na-mention ko that I'll be back someday to tour around the States and yesssssss, the universe made it happen! <3

Empire State Building with King Kong.

A lot of souvenir shops in the area as well. Some stores have signages that they sell souvenir shirts for as low as 5 dollars.

Kakamiss naman mag lakad sa labas. :( Kailan ba matatapos 'tong COVID na 'to?

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAS for this.
Kailangan 'yan sa buhay.

The only places that I was thinking of visiting in Chiang Rai are the Buddhist temples (White, Blue, Black) and the Golden Triangle (border of Thailand, Myanmar, Laos)

Afternoon at Chiang Rai's Golden Triangle + Myanmar Border Crossing

When I was looking for group tours that I can join there, I saw a package that included this green tea farm aside from the temples and the border. I didn't even know that they have a green tea farm so this was such a sweet surprise. I have always wanted to go to one.

Started with samples of their teas.

I loved their green tea and oolong tea the most. Theirs is definitely on the more expensive side so I only bought a pack of green tea. They also have cakes and refreshments should you decide on staying to eat there.

While it's not a tour per se 'cause no one's gonna be with you, you are free to roam around the fields or stay here in the quaint cafe overlooking the fields and the mountains. I believe that this is a bit far from the city center of Chiang Rai so not accessible unless you have your own transportation.

❤️❤️❤️

Tea tree fields that stretch as far as you can see.
This place may not be "everyone's cup of tea" but for us tea lovers, this a great place to be in. It was definitely a memorable experience to walk around a tea plantation. I also picked a leaf and ate it 'cause I was curious if it tastes like matcha. HAHAHA!

Matcha, matcha - 'yung damo powder kong mahal na mahal. Literally and figuratively mahal. Matchaya, matcharap mga ganyan.

My friend and I were actually planning of doing a tea picking activity for our Tokyo trip this year but because of COVID, that trip has been cancelled. Well, anyway, still glad that I was able to visit this before. No use sulking over something out of our control.

Aside from Japan, I know there are green tea fields in Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan and my other green tea field dream: Boseong or Jeju, South Korea.

Grateful for travelers who offer to take photos of others.

NYAHAHA!

The scenery is spectacular especially since this place is located among the mountains and rolling hills. There weren't a lot of people that time, didn't even see workers handpicking tea leaves but that's fine. Glad to have visited on a cool foggy day. <3

PS. Kinda missing authentic Thai Milk teas. There's a very distinct taste to it. They probably blend in some spices (and food coloring) on that orange colored milk tea. K. Fine. Galing talaga mag-explain nung isa dyan. Itigil ko na lang, noh? HAHAHA!

This trip has celebrated its one year anniversary in my backlogs. So, yay and congrats to me since I'm finally posting this here? :))) The ECQ and the COVID situation have been taking their toll on me. I think I'd have to go back to writing to protect the sanity that is left in me that's why I know that all my previous travels will surely find their way here since stop gala ako for the meantime. HAHAHA!

Above is my only solo photo that I'll be posting in this series para lang hindi mukha niya agad 'yung lalabas sa preview don sa homepage header nito. It's Mother's Day today that's why this will only include pictures of my mother pero sumingit pa rin ako sa iba. Kapag nakita niyang nilagay ko rito mukha niya.... patay ako. HAHAHA! HI MAMSHIE! ALAM KONG DI MO NAMAN 'TO MABABASA PERO HI MAMSHIE! (just in case) HAHAHAHAHAHA Mother's Day naman. At miss mo naman ang New York City. Keri lang.

We watched the video above the other day and it was the first time I listened to that version of the song, "Empire State of Mind" which made me felt kilig that I was able to go there. Tagalog na lang, noh? Hirap eh. HAHA! NYC is one of the most crowded places that I've been to that's why seeing the video above was saddening, fascinating, and magical all at the same time. Pero nag-English pa rin ako.

"If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere."

"How does she know that you love her?
How do you show her you love her?
How does she know that you really, really, truly love her?
How does she know that you love her?
How do you show her you love her?
How does she know that you really, really, truly love her?
It's not enough to take the one you love for granted
You must remind her or she'll be inclined to say
How do I know he loves me?
How do I know he's mine?"

*These boulders are exposed part of the ancient bedrock that lies beneath the whole New York City. Central Park is man-made but these rocks aren't and you can find a lot of this there.

But yeah, flowers are in their most beautiful state when they're left to bloom so maganda pa rin 'tong mga pa-flowers don, syempre. Lakas maka-sosyal ng sidewalks and parks.

HAHA! But yeah, retake lang ng retake.

Kahit ginawa niyang siesta spot 'yung St. Patrick's Cathedral, Manhattan.

HAHA!

Will be posting a proper travel log one of these days.

HAHA!

:)) Pero merienda lang din 'to. Kumain kami parang four times that day pa aside from this.

We've traveled a lot but this was our first trip abroad na kami lang dalawa. Medyo kabado ako din dahil long-haul flight 'to at may jetlag siya pero we made it. Well, I've traveled alone a lot naman so mismong tour wasn't something new for me but it surely was memorable to tour around NYC with her. Hoping to visit more places in the future!!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY PO SA LAHAT!

YOU'RE ALL LOVED AND APPRECIATED.

PS. We're grateful. Sobra pa sa sobra.
