Over Rice, New York Halal Inspired, Katipunan, Quezon City

These are the current items on their menu. They will be adding more to the list in the coming months.

The food names and their prices aren't readable in the picture but I'll be linking their Facebook page below so no worries. Take note though that the food they serve aren't authentic halal, they're Halal Inspired. New York Halal Inspired that is.
You can see your food being made.

As much as it's entertaining to watch your food cooked in front of you, I dig the take out counter of Over Rice. It's a plus for me how convenient it is to get a to-go food there. At least there are more delicious and affordable options for people who would buy their food before heading home or before facing the (minsan lang naman or hindi lang talaga minsan) insane traffic ordeal of Katipunan. Yup, tama na 'yung fastfood when you can get real food naman for the same price, diba? Chos. :))

Pero more than that, the take counter is being true to its name 'cause of the fast-paced lifestyle of New Yorkers wherein they just grab their food from a food stall then just eat it fast or eat it while walking.

Hi Chef! Cohen and Aldous sa glass reflection.

While waiting for our food, we all agreed with how witty and well thought of the names of their sauce are. The bottles here are Overrice's version of hot sauce with their names: Pwet Goes Boom, and Pwet Goes Boom Boom! It was so catchy that even if I have a low threshold for spicy food, I tried these too.

Overrice
P 99.00

This is a mixed order so this has beef and chicken on top of the rice.

I like that they put in two slices of pita bread there just to balance out the tastes of the meat, crema de mama and rice.

I am a strawberry person but it's very rare that I enjoy strawberry shakes because some tastes like they just added an artificial strawberry flavoring in theirs. It's a given that it's hard to source fresh strawberries here in Manila so they use frozen strawberry but it's none of my concern because the blend of this was just perfect especially when paired with the meals.

Ito 'yung akala mo, hindi mo na kaya pero kayang kaya mo pa pala. HAHAHA!

I got full already after having the Over Rice 'cause that's a full meal na, pero when we were served this Gyro. Sabi ko, tikim lang but I ended up eating everything. We even asked for the sauce 'cause we couldn't get enough of the crema de mama.

This is my favorite of the three that we ate there that night. There are two sizes. The one in the picture is their regular size gyro and they have a giant gyro which is 10 inches long.

Over Fries

Over na! Or pwede pa?

Syempre pwede pa.

For those who would rather eat there with their friends or want something to eat while waiting for their order, this one's a must-try. The question that was asked that night was, "How to eat this?" Of course, there isn't a right or a wrong way in eating this. Depends lang on your preference. Ako, I ate this using fork. Wala lang. Just want to have the fries and the toppings in once forkfull. Ganern forkfull kasi for hindi spoon. HAHAHA.

Thank you Overrice and Team Aldous for a super and over filling night!

Golan Arcade, Katipunan

Over Rice is very easy to locate.

This I have proven to be true 'cause when I posted the picture of the food I ate there on my Facebook account, a lot of my friends asked me where it is located exactly and I would tell them, "Terminal ng Katipunan - Balara/ Katipunan - UP na jeep. Dun banda sa tulay. Medyo baba ng SM Blue Condo. " And all the time they answered me, "Okay. Alam ko na. Thank you"

And my food buddies that night!
