This is a product review for Derma Natufian's Niacinamide Serum 10% + 1% Zinc and also a CGM update at the end.

Arte ka na naman?

Having a maskne (acne) breakout in my chin area again since I've been going out frequently the past several days. My hair is always up in a bun so no curls for me as well. Behind the mask are several acne and acne scars. hahaha. Pero keri lang. This, too, shall pass. 😂

I don't know what else I'm supposed to do to lessen the allergic reaction I get from wearing facemasks. I bought this thinking that it might help make the healing of active acnes and lightening of scars fast. Searched Reddit and Instagram for reviews but there aren't a lot yet, still gave this a chance because I'm kinda desperate. Hahahaha!

Derma Natufian's Niacinamide Serum +

I've only been using this for two weeks.
Hopefully, I'll be able to update this post once I've emptied the bottle. For the first week, I used this every other day and decided to use it daily only when I was convinced that I'm not going to have negative reaction to it.

Current Skincare Routine and Products Used - in this post, I mentioned that I'd like to try The Ordinary's Niacinamide but it's beyond my current budget so I searched for a dupe and found this. The price is not that steep. This retails at P 289.00 but I bought this on sale at around P 250.00 for a 30 ML bottle from RRKoreanshop1 in Shopee. I haven't tried other Niacinamide serums so I have nothing to compare this with.

Derma Natufian's Niacinamide Serum +

This serum is a part of my Day Routine:

Cleanser
Toner (this is not a necessary step according to some but I like it in mine)
Derma Natufian's Niacinamide Serum
Moisturizer
Sunscreen

Derma Natufian's Niacinamide Serum +

The serum looks cloudy and smells a bit like glue when spread on the face. The smell fades as soon as the product dries.

Derma Natufian's Niacinamide Serum +
  • The texture is runny but definitely more viscous than water.
  • It doesn't sting even if I put it over an active acne.
  • Spreads easily and a little goes a long way but you have to spread it fast.
  • I need to pat in on my face for a minute before applying my moisturizer since it's a bit sticky when on the process of drying but dries as if you didn't apply any serum on your face.
Gets? Gets? HAHA! Hirap na hirap ako magpaliwanag eh.

How I apply: I drop some product on my palm and I use the pads of my ring and middle fingers to apply it on my face and neck.

  • I'm still unsure if it's helping to lighten acne marks but I'm going to continue using it and will update this post once I notice changes.
  • What I currently like the most about this is it helps regulate the sebum production on my face. I don't apply powder when wearing a facemask but that leaves me with an oily skin especially on humid days. I noticed that since I started to apply this, my face has always been less oily. Hoping that even if I perspire and the facemask traps the moisture and humidity in, hindi na masyado maka-trigger ng acne. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Kk. Dami problema 😂

Any tips you can share to combat maskne?

CGM UPDATE:
10 months+ in CGM and my hair is in a bun almost every day. Pakainit kasi! 😂

One of the few days that I let it breathe.
Wavy pa rin naman siya as long as nakapag-s2c and air dry.

Hair when wet.

Hair when dry

The right side of my hair is not as curly as before and there are days when it's straight. I think it's because putting it in a bun on most days stretches the curl pattern but yeah, I've accepted na mas topakin pa rin buhok ko kesa sa'kin. HAHAHA!

Nako poooo.
Gawin mo gusto mong gawin, hair.
Madali tayo kausap, diba?
😂😂😂

Gamcheon Cultural Village, Busan, South Korea
Visited this place two years ago.

Little Prince, "“What makes the desert beautiful,' said the little prince, 'is that somewhere it hides a well...”
Ito rin - this pandemic phase - no matter how desolate this seems, life can still exist.
And somewhere, somehow, we'll find a well that will soothe and replenish our exhausted souls, minds, and bodies.

We had another ticket for an unlimited KTX ride from Busan so instead of riding the train straight to Seoul, we decided to side trip in Gyeongju first. We didn't have a lot of time since we needed to be back in Seoul at 7 PM again.

We didn't get to eat breakfast at the hotel and we wanted to try something that originated here in Gyeongju but it was too early that the restaurants in the station were still closed. We didn't have enough time to go around the city area to look for restaurants so we went with our savior - convenience store kimbap. 😂

This was 3,500 KRW.
Not bad.

I had a bottled water with me back then so this was all I bought for that morning.

We also put our stuff in the lockers so we don't have to carry all those around in the temple. The rent for a locker was 6,000 KRW but my friend and I were able to fit all our stuff in one so we only paid 3,000 KRW each. Also, we reserved seats for the train ride from Gyeongju to Seoul before exiting the station.

For the bus fare from Singyeongju to Bulguksa, I wasn't able to take note of it since I always use my T-money and just reload 10,000 KRW everytime I run out of money there.

Infairness to me, writing about this now doesn't bring me pain anymore. HAHAHA! I'm supposed to be in South Korea again for Autumn 2020 but yep, stuck here in PH slowly trying to find (the meaning of) life. 😂

I'm back to saying this again but I don't know when and I don't know how but I'm returning to you one day, SK! 💖

We spent several minutes outside the station because of the trees and while waiting for the Singyeongju - Bulguksa bus # 700. There's a direct route so getting lost isn't a problem.

I surely would love to go back here one day and explore more of the city center. There are definitely a lot more attractions here in Gyeongju aside from Bulguksa. Needed to sacrifice 'cause of time constraints.

Book your adventure here:

Gyeongju One-Day Tour: Hwangridan-gil, Daereungwon, Bulguksa, Gyochon Village, Donggung Palace, and Wolji Pond

The travel time from Gyeongju to Seoul via KTX is 2 hours and 10 minutes.

I forgot what time we went back to Singyeongju but we arrived in Seoul before 7 PM.

Ahahahaha. 'Yan pala itsura ko last year. 😂 This was last October, that trip that I waited for before doing/joining CGM so yeah, the last lakwatsa... last with rebonded hair lang ah, hindi last lakwatsa talaga. Wag namannnnnn. 😆😆😆

10 Months in CGM

****

Some parts of our lives don't work out the way we want to but those things don't have to define who we're becoming. Okay lang to go with the flow kung hindi natin makita ang bigger picture. This is all a chapter in my journey so I'm trusting this path wherever this may lead.

Hehehehe! Kasi kasi kasi, will begin again. 💖

Pink Muhly in Nakdong River Estuary, Busan

Pink Muhly in Daejeo Ecological Park, Busan

I was tagged this photo the other day from one of my friends I met in Busan 2018. This is what I was talking about when I made a photo essay about Busan before link: here. Their memories of Busan have me in it and mine has them in it - 'cause at one point, it was a shared lives and memories for us. I replied in a DM after I reposted this and I told her, "Wish we could go back to the time when all we did was travel, eat and wait until our shift ends so we can go back to travelling and eating."

I suddenly miss them. 🥺 This is the price I pay for knowing and getting close with people in more than one place. 🥺 This is the sad part of loving people far away from you talaga, noh. 🥺
I want to give them big and tight hugs but we're miles away. I reached a point when the world felt small but bumalik na naman sa parang anlayo at ang hirap gawin ng lahat. Haaaay! 🥺
For now, this is me hoping that we'll all get our sincere smiles back.

Life, ito na po ba 'yung "Good old days?" HAHAHAHA. Kahit maraming tanong at hindi sigurado (?), andito pa rin 'yung walang hanggang pasasalamat (!) at moving forward kasi umaasa na life is going to get better from here. This is still an unfinished journey (...), our life isn't over yet (;).

We came all the way here; even so, we have to move further (and farther para sa mga kapwa wanderlust 😁).
To be continued...
What may come next?

While there are hanok houses and villages you can visit in Seoul, we had an unlimited bullet train ride ticket to use that day so we decided to visit Jeonju for a day trip. There's a direct Seoul to Jeonju KTX route. It'll be better to reserve train seats especially if you're only going on a day trip 'cause a lot of people go here and the train back to Seoul can be packed.

Jeongdong Catholic Church (Historic Site No. 288)
Thank You for the gift of adventure! 💕

This cathedral looks a lot like Myeongdong Cathedral.

We got quite curious so we wanted to go inside this place but decided not to as we went near the gate. We just walked around outside to see more of Jeonju.

This area is a strip of stores selling food.
We weren't hungry when we were strolling along this place so we didn't buy any although most of the food items sold there looked appetizing.

Also, like the palaces in Seoul, walking here while wearing hanbok/Korea Traditional clothes is a thing.

There are a lot of Hanbok designs that you can choose from in the countless of stores that can be seen here. If it'll be your first time wearing this then don't miss the opportunity to walk around and take photos wearing one.

Busan, South Korea: Hanbok Experience Hall in BEXCO

We looked for the entry point of this Jeonju Overlook area for quite a while. We had to go all the way to the end of the street food strip and walk up an incline. It was easy to locate this though once we arrived at the area since this slab of rock was big enough to see from afar.

Overlooking the Hanok Houses

The reasons why we went all the way here is to go to this spot and of course, eat bibimbap. 😂 Magamit lang talaga 'yung unli-train eh.

Jeonju, by the way, is the birthplace of bibimbap. It is two hours away from Seoul via KTX.

This is also one of my favorite Korean food.
While the Jeonju bibimbap we ordered doesn't have meat in it, I like the one with raw beef in a dolsot (hot stone bowl) too.

There are a lot more places to explore in Jeonju aside from the ones I showed here but we didn't have enough time 'cause we needed to be back in Seoul by 7 PM. Ayon, at the end of the day, kumain lang pala talaga kami ng bibimbap at nag picture don sa taas ng bundok.

I've written a post about Gwangan Bridge in 2019. That was a thorough guide/ description already so I don't know what I am supposed to write here since the other post has all the details I can think of.

We were looking for GUKBAP but to no avail. I was confident that we were going to find a GUKBAP restaurant in Busan since it was everywhere in Jangsan, Haeundae but we didn't find any in Gwangan. But yeah, Doenjang Jjigae is always a good idea. A good enough idea if there's no GUKBAP in sight.

Photo above for GUKBAP (Korean Pork Bone Rice Soup) reference. This was in a restaurant somewhere in Haeundae 2018. My mouth's watering at the sight of this photo. HAHAHA!

It's one of my favorite Korean food but it's not that famous internationally unlike samgyeopsal, kimbap, etc. I can't make it here in PH because according to one recipe that I've read, you're supposed to simmer the soup for 8-12 hours. Dahil dyan, exclusive Korea lang siya. lol.

This bridge is an icon of Busan so it's definitely a must-visit.

One thing that I love about in Busan and I've told this for so many times, is that beaches and mountains are nearby. I mean, on days or on nights when you just want to sit by the shore and watch the ocean waves or climb a mountain, it's very convenient and cheap to go.

EDIT 2022: Lout of the Count's Family Web Novel

I read the web novel above and I kinda felt "kilig" that I've been in Gwangan Bridge and Seomyeon before. lol. Kahit monster attack 'yung nasa kwento.

BIFF / Nampo Area link: here.

This place is also famous for the street food and the night market. A lot like Seoul's Myeongdong only this is a lot less crowded.

A lot of tourists choose this vicinity when searching for hotels since this is kinda the center of Busan. But if you're into night life/club hopping, then the best place to be checking in is in Seomyeon. When we were out there partying, we had several nights turned mornings that we had to wait for the subway's first trip at around 5:30 AM. The travel time to Haeundae takes more than an hour kaya dumadating kami sa dorm ng breakfast na kinakain ng mga tao. TMI e noh. Pero wala lang, fun times. HAHAHA!

Busan Tower and Yongdusan Park link: here.

If you don't wanna pay, the rooftop of the nearby Lotte Department Store (Gwangbok Branch) is a good alternative to see the skyline of this part of Busan link: here.

These neon signs lined along the escalator and the staircase of Busan Tower and Yongdusan are new addition to the area. They feature the different tourist spots of Busan.

Back to our hotel we go... <3

I don't know if you can see the LCD projection on the wall but a restaurant there hosts an outdoor movie watching at night.
